Taking the question from the Merchandising committee thread. Perhaps we can do some market research.

Maybe, if it looked good. Price wouldn't be the main factor. I like the idea of an 1883 brand, though.

I'd certainly consider it. The more I hear of a subtle unobvious (if that's a real word) "brand", the more I like the idea. RVRS or 1883 sound good to me or even some combination of both.

I'd buy one if it was good quality, and not some crappy Fruit of the Loom shirt that goes out of shape after one wash!

Agreed. A decent black polo, and I mean decent, with a black embroidered 1883 would look the nuts and I would buy one.

Proper sizing, when it says 2XL in needs to be a 2XL, there are a lot of "big" people watching the Gas who can NEVER get Rovers clothing because they dont stock bigger sizes, even if the bigger sizes have to be ordered, they should be available.

I think it's more suitable for the chairman of the football club to wear a suit to be fair.

I am reminded of when Swindle needed to order XXXXXL shorts specially for Neil Ruddock

1883 looks (and sounds) so much better than 1982 don't you think? It has a certain ring to it.

I know this is not scientific, but early results show a greater appetite for this item from respondents on this forum than from gaschat.
Quite what that tells you......I don't know
It does indicate some sort of demand.

I doubt they would be very good quality at £14.99,more like Primark quality..I would pay more for good quality polo Navy blue with BRFC or Rovers embroidered in Navy blue but it wont happen. Maybe somebody a bit clued up will get some done,a bit like JK does the t shirts and badges and scarves.

A quick google search of 1883 timeline and people may think wearers were old boys brigade members or Gloucester City fans

I bought a very nice polo shirt last season from the shop with the badge embroidered on. Has been in the wash numerous times and hasent shrunk. Lovely shirt.

A quick google search of 1883 timeline and people may think wearers were old boys brigade members or Gloucester City fans Put the two together and you (almost) arrive at Gloucesterhire CCC, who pre-date BRFC by 13 years . . . . . . and the other mob by 112 years. Johnny-come-lately's, eh?

You want to buy merchandise but do not want it in your face, we could sell a lot if the directors listened.Look at other clubs and how they sell their products. We appear to be about 10 years behind.

It's not really my thing, but I know Celtic sell loads of stuff with 88 (for 1888) or 67 (1967) on it. I do think the trend is to more subtle stuff.
