Hey all Good result last night i thought especially with going to 10 men fairly early on Got me thinking about keepers though I love Mildy, he's bloomin good for this level we find ourselves in I must admit i have not seen Puddy in the flesh, but the highlights last night were mixed, some he looked fine, some a bit flappy, but at this level he's probably ok for our back up keeper any way on to my point...! I was surprised to see Neil Etheridge is still without a club I thought he was great on loan from Fulham Perhaps worth a look, he's young and could be successor to the mighty Mildenhall? Probably too low a level for him though?.... And also a hello, first post an all!! Been a gas head for far too long (24 years), held a season ticket for over 10 years but now live too far away to get to many games WiLL......

Puddy did well. In fact that game could be the making of him. Coming on as a sub with a close free kick to face as your first action is not easy, and with 1,000 expectant awayfans.
then a goal goes in. He could easily have crumbled.
After that he was fine, although as someone else mentioned his lack of height is always going to be a problem for him. His distribution was exc.
No disrespect to Mildy, who I like and is one of the best shot stoppers outside of the championship/PL, but he is quite poor on crosses and close combat, so it's unfair to expect too much of Puddy (or any 'cheap' reserve keeper).
And comparing Puddy (a non-lge keeper probably earning minimum wage) to Mildy (every experienced Lge keeper and prob one of top earners) is unfair. Every team needs a 'first on the team sheet' keeper like Mildy, but equally every team needs a Puddy as well.
Didn;t know Etheridge was without a club. very surprised as he became their number 2 for a while. I thought he was the best loan keeper we've had for a long time, including Andersen. I suspect he won;t want to drop too low and has got used to the wages and trappings of wealth and facilities he had at Fulham though.

...but how many will Eastleigh bring to our plaice? Sorry to bring this news Alveston but Plaice has already been used so on this occasion yours is a red herring, which is a shame because up until now this thread was brill.
