An enjoyable game and a very good result. We started excellently and got the early goal to settle nerves and it helped create a decent atmosphere. Alveston has it about right in his post.
Both goals were superb finishes and worthy of winning any game. Cunnington's was a great volley from a Martin cross and Mansell's free kick was curled around the wall, beyond the goalkeeper and in to the top corner. I said before he shot that I hoped Brown wouldn't take it and thankfully he didn't! Perhaps it's starting to sink in that he isn't very good from set-pieces the vast majority of the time.
A thoroughly enjoyable afternoon's football I have to say. A good crowd and very respectable following from Woking so fair play to them.
Well done Gas.

Absolutely made up with that result.First home game missed for me today, how did the Parkes/Lockyer partnership look and Leadbitters performance? Personally thought Parkes and Lockyer were outstanding today. The team were under a lot of pressure in the first half and Parkes and Lockyer kept the number of chances to a minimum. Leadbitter was a bit in and out. One example in the second half summed his performance up - an excellent tackle and then he passed it straight back to them.

Another excellent win and another very good performance. Some of the quality in this team is some of the best I've seen in the last 20 years. Sinclair on £600 per week is a million times better than some of the wasters we've had on £3k per week, i cannot remember the last time I've seen such a complete midfielder in the blue & white quarters. His fitness level are more superior than most players in the Championship, he's bursting into the box creating things and then seconds later he's back near Mildenhall throwing himself in front of the ball to prevent a goal. Mansell is the player we've missed massively since Stuart Campbell, he gives us superb leadership & aggression in the middle of midfield and uses the ball really well. I was pleased for Leadbitter today as he's gone a long way to proving he can handle the big crowd and keep silly errors to a minimum, although i'm not convinced about him as a full back in a 4-4-2, very good wingback option in a 3-5-2, but in a 4-4-2 i think he'd do a very good job as a right winger. I still cannot understand how Matty Taylor has not played in the football league, he has put in an incredible shift every game this season, especially in the last 3, and i wouldn't care if he didn't score another goal this season if he can do what he did today, movement, pace and stamina is impressive and he is a non stop headache for defenders. Martin is your classic 4th tier winger, excellent for a game then sh** for a game, today he struggled and if Gosling is out next week, i fully expect DC to go back to a 3-5-2 at Southport. DC proving every week what an excellent young manager he is, he's working under ridiculous amounts of pressure, and any manager who can get any sort of success working under box 1 is a magician, forget him being sacked, if we are in around the top 5 come xmas when it's sacking season, i fully expect football league clubs to come knocking with an approach for his services, because even if most our fans don't appreciate him, i know certain people in the football world do, the way he's built this team and the way his tactics during a game change to influence a game is impressive for someone 36 years of age and with little managerial experience. Next week we need to keep the unbeaten run going, i get the feeling people are now thinking we should win every week, but it doesn't work like that, and a point at Southport next week would help keep those foundations strong with a massive amount of games to go. Positive and steady approach was needed this month and so far things are going very well.

I agree about Martin, a fantastic cross from him to create the first goal and how well did Cunnington finish it but then virtually every cross afterwards flew way off the target area and relieved the pressure from Woking. Hopefully he'll be back to his best in the next game.

"We've had to dig in. We have had to change shape a few times to win the football match and the lads have responded to it." All the BS about DC not having a plan b etc has yet again been put to bed.

I couldn't possibly disagree with you regarding other clubs approaching DC around Christmas-time Westcountry, because I don't know if it's likely to happen or not. But on the basis of probability I would doubt it, but I suppose that for me to offer an opinion I would need to ask you who these people in the football world are who do appreciate him? Presumably you know, so would you care to share the information with the rest of us? But now that the team are levelling out results-wise, and hitting a good run of form, I would have thought that the manager would be keen to see the rewards of his labours. But we are talking football here, aren't we?

Talking to two Woking fans on the way out they considered we had a 'homer' of a referee and felt the free kick we were awarded that led to the goal was conned out the ref by Leadbetter throwing himself at their defender and that they should have had a 'nailed on' penalty for handball in the first half. They also felt our players went down to easily or fell over at the least touch, I said of course that's what all non league players do to con the referee, our players have cottoned on to it after the first 6 games now and do what everyone else does !

Parkes and Lockyer were simply outstanding today in central defence. They have had their critics (maybe unfairly on Lockyer who is not really a full back) in recent weeks, but they deserve their praise today. Brilliant to see.
My MOM however was Mansell. He was immense. The first real leader we have had since Campbell. He covered every blade of grass, kept possession and scored an absolute beauty of a free kick.

Delighted with that result.
Reports from Gasheads suggests our style and quality of play have improved too which is even more encouraging.
Don't want to count our chickens just yet but it looks like a has corner has been turned.
Today's big crowd must have gone home very happy and with a level of optimism not felt by Gasheads in a long, long time.

I think the next two fixtures (both away) will really give us an idea as to where we are (and if a corner has turned). If we can get two results away from home in these fixtures then it really is full steam ahead. Away fixtures still give me a sense of dread though. At home I think we have the potential to remain unbeaten this season (Yes I just said that!), but away from home I almost feel lost watching/listening to the gas. The next two fixtures (Southport/Eastleigh) could define our season IMO. Are we going to stand up and be counted away from home? Let's hope so!

Its pleasing we seem to be scoring from set pieces. Cant really remember that as far back as the nearly season. I appreciate Lambert used to score the odd free kick, but that was down to talent than apparent team organisation.
A good win. Lets go for five on the trot, the confidence is back.
