I have. I've also done a letter of support in German. Oo, that's a good idea, I'll get my grandchildren to send one in Welsh , that should bamboozle Trash ....well and most Bristolians too probably !

So we have established that a German language report (which may or may not have been accompanied with a translation) is referenced in the appeal. And you are concluding from this that basic mistakes have been made? Read the letters of objection on the BCC website. Letters which are supposed to reflect objections based upon how the permission would affect them as individuals surely? If the application is remiss due to being incomplete that's the planning departments job to determine not a bunch of half informed, hysterical TRASH sycophants......

If the situation were reversed how disappointed would you be if supporters didn't point out things like incorrect diagrams submitted? If you remove all of the letters of both support and objection that stray from the topic in hand you won't have many left. A couple of people objecting seem to be very well informed to me? Why sycophants?

Also bear in mind this is a new planning application which is running along side, and independently, of the appeal.

Why sycophants? Those letters that stray from the relevant topic should be discounted IMO. Sycophants because most of the letters, if you read them, repeat the same phrases and arguments as though they've been lifted from somewhere..... Am I being biased in my interpretation? You f**king bet I am - just in the way most of the objectors are being biased. Some of the objections are just laughable. Whining about HGV's travelling up Muller Road - It's a f**king main road. HGV's will travel up there at all times of the night regardless of whether there is a supermarket built at the Mem or not. Maybe we should ban all heavy goods from residential streets as that's what a big majority of the objections seem to be about.....

The objections to the deliveries and noise of them is exaggerated when you consider there will only be 8 deliveries maximum per day and they aren't all going to arrive at the same time are they ?

This is something that has been mentioned a few times. In a way it doesn't matter because Sainsbury's won't be building a supermarket on The Mem site anyway, but just out of interest, does the planning permission restrict them to 8 deliveries in any given 24 hour period?

Don't really know, there are one or two who will know, Angas for instance. I think it says something along the lines of restricting to 16 movements on the site i.e. 8 in and 8 out.

Perhaps there is somebody more informed than me but I don't understand how you can keep a store the size of Sainsbury's fully stocked with just 8 deliveries a day? There always seems a delivery truck on site at the exsisiting Sainsbury's at Filton?
Although it doesn't really matter as Sainsbury's are never going to build at the Mem anyway, I suppose BCC's problem is that if they allow Sainsbury's permission will that set a president for any other supermarket who want's extended delivery times in Bristol in the future, even if the Mem store is never built?

I only know what is says on the planning application of Jan 2013 - 8 per day. It doesn't seem many - I'd expect that to be appealed along with the hours, but no-one's mentioned that happening as far as I know.

Why are so many people still getting invoved with this **** subject. As far as i am aware Higgs has all but disappeared, and Sainsburys are saying they are not going to buy the MEM. Higgs wants compensation to cover his **** up. Hopefully then he will be gone. Lets concentrate on supporting the team. UTG
