To my untrained ear Marriot,is it fair to say this songs 'feel' is influenced by Beatle pop. Well maybe. Nice song. |

With A Little Help From My Friends by Joe Cocker, live from the Woodstock Festival, 1969 . . . Very good effort, but I'm not too certain about the backing singer though. Joe should have invested in a good, strong female sound. Speaking of Joe Cocker reminds me of the time that Michael Parkinson was reminiscing about the time when he was a young cub reporter on the local Yorkshire newspaper, and he was sent to Sheffield to cover a ''rock'' concert, and Joe Cocker was on the bill. Parkinson said that Joe's performance became more and more extravagant, lots of head, arm and body shaking, until he fell off the stage and into the orchestra pit. He then got back onto the stage, and (according to Parkinson) never stopped singing once. Must have been good value, eh? I just wonder what on earth he did for an encore.  |
