Taken from another rovers page but thought it was best foe all to read... Today for the first time ever I witnessed the patient Bristol Rovers reject it's medicine and treatment.......the club is dying, 50 fans hurled abuse at the players but the majority left in stunned silence, even the fans are giving hope because they no longer have the anger or emotion, we are witnessing this collapse. I'm told Higgs and Bradshaw never went today? Dunford resigned, Kirsty the PR resigned, there are no beacons of hope at this moment. If Nick Higgs ever needed to do a Winston Churchill battle cry it's now, today was so sad to see, the team gave up today with 30 mins to go today, the manager admitted, we've never seen us do this against a part time side, they gave up and the fans are starting as well and that will be the death nail of the club. Trottman, Mildy and Monkhouse walked over and they got abuse from a section leaving, the rest saw it and turned back on the half way line. As they did the majority just left is a sadness of silence whilst minutes before the Braintree sang "is there a fire drill?" To us. I've never seen a Bristol Rovers team or club look so out of sorts with 31 minutes to go, they gave up, they really did. It wasn't they couldn't be bothered, they just didn't know how to handle the situation, some never wanted to be on the pitch and some stopped playing, I've never seen this before, even at Altrincham we tried to get a goal. i felt sorry for trotman when he walked over and got abuse because he played well and tried to set an example in his battling approach during the game,i applauded him

Apart from a few , we are a now a poor team in a poor league run by a poor manager. Ok it was a crap penalty decision , but we looked like a team with no spirit and no ideas. Clarke is out of his depth , and we have a lot of reject players who are just not good enough.

Not a chance, I will wait until that Muppet of a manager goes and we start afresh once again, he got us relegated, So clarkes 8 games got us relegated. The 38 that Ward was in charge had no effect? I can only think of one Muppet, and it isn't Clarke

From a personal point of view, the saddest thing is that Rovers have stopped me caring. A while ago, the sort of rubbish I saw today ( and the first half at Barnet) would have left me seething and grumpy for at least 24 hours. But now, well, I'm not that bothered. Rovers lose. Play crap. A few fans make me wonder why I would choose to spend the afternoon in the same place as them. The only redeeming feature is that I only had to drive 45 miles. It is 49 years today that I saw my first Rovers match. A one-nil defeat to Swindon prepared me for the difficult choice of being a Rovers fan, but I am not sure I will make it to 50 years.

It seems to methat losing to teams like Braintree and Altrincham from time to time is going to be a reality we're going to have to get used to. When we first went down to League 2 we were saying same thing about losing to the likes of Rochdale etc. It is horribly indicative of how far we've fallen but it is the new reality - at this stage we appear to be a bang average (at best) conference team playing other conference teams and I suppose the normal rule of football apply; away games at sides on the same level as you are difficult.
The point is I think either you have to accept this reality or give up in despair at it all. People seem to have gone either way on this but I'm not going to start bellowing about every defeat to Altrincham. Braintree etc. The fact we're at this level is the disgraceful situation - losing to these clubs is just the reality of being here and reminds us (as if we needed reminding) that there's always further to fall. We're not too good to be playing at this level, if we lose to part-timers it's because that's the level we're currently playing at. I'm more depressed about it than angry and that's not good really because it suggests the fire isn't there anymore; my expectations have been lowered through the floor at this stage....

So get rid of Clarke and replace with ....
Anyone know who would actually come to us? Or please give your delusional answers.
Sacking the manager isn't the answer for revolving door rovers. The BOD need to put money in.

Well I was told last week that Higgs has fallen out with the rest of the board members because there not putting any money in and he told them if they don't put money in he wants them out If it's true I don't know, it's just what I was told. I haven't been to watch us this season and I don't even miss it anymore,I used to get the urge to go but I don't even think about it anymore. How many more fans are like me now not even bothering to sit through the torture every other Saturday

The BOD need to put money in. Global, the BoD DO put money in. They bail out our losses every year- losses caused by the whelk-stall way they insist on running the club. The last thing we need is another local spiv to join the merry gang and throw another coupole of hundred grand at propping up this mess.

Flash forward to 2023/4. Why are you lot complaining? It's only 6 games into the season and Retainers, Sneyd Park and Portland are among the better teams in this League. I think Nick is doing a good job as Manager and is still subsidising the player's subs. PS I like the look of the new signing from Torpedo. What a beard as well and he shouts nonstop. That's the attitude we all need to adopt.
