Thank you LiS. I was about to post the same. Dobson, part of that midfield in 73/74 that got promotion and Megson never changed it. Stephens and Dobson wide with Prince and Stanton in the middle. Almost unchanged through that season iirc. Bit unfair to put him on a list with some of those. Come on bt!!! Unlike you. 😉 UTG! What about Rudge? Played wide right I recall that season, two goals at home to Bournemouth on MOTD if I remember correctly. Leeds was the other game, the great unbeaten runs. Yes, a very good player. Just checked on Rudge, 73/74 played 13 games with 4 goals. One against Bournemouth, Charlton, Port Vale and Aldershot. Apparently, and I don’t remember this, Warboys was injured for Feb and March and Kenny Stephens missed Jan and Feb, Rudge, Fearnley and Staniforth filled in. Dobson played 39 games that season. Funny how memory fails you after all these years. I remember all those matches so clearly but looking just now shows me that from Christmas onwards we had several injuries that caused Don M to make changes. When I thought he didn’t. UTG! |
