Sadly this comes as no surprise. Because he isn't a striker? Well that's certainly true. But what is he? A quick-run-then-give-upper? As for Martin letting us down, I didn't see the incident, but it sounds like you have a point.

Left winger or AM playing off a front man. A very good one, who was one of the best players in the division last season. However, more recently he has been performing the role of a convenient scapegoat when our problems run much deeper. Headbutt apparently. Also did this knowing we had nobody to fill his position (I don't count Marquis), which is indefensible from a senior pro.

He has the first ten games of next season to show what he hasn't demonstrated this season.

It's a sad day when you look on in envy at a team like Peterborough.
They won without breaking sweat and made us look like what we are, a very poor League One team.
With just a few exceptions, we are a team bereft of ideas and at times, basic footballing skills.
Massive, massive job for MT in the close season.
Let's hope our owners are up to the task too.

More irritated by the suspension going into next season than anything else. Would even be minded to reconsider the year extension, as he absolutely dumped on us today. I think next season is going to be a real struggle, and we certainly don't need to create an additional obstacles and problems. I think a public apology to the fanbase, his manager, the team, and me personally is in order.

Thought JCH was poor today. Ran less than Brown.
Hope some will stop talking about his return now.

Very sobering when you reflect on the fact that this Peterborough team will come straight back down. Just one of the reasons why it is hard not to laugh in the owner's face when he talks about us being a championship club in a few years.

And I don't think they will..

Why are we considering giving MT the first 10 games of next season,he is patently out of his depth and our season will be a write off by the time we bed in a new manager.

Patently? We're now consigned to the bottom half. Beat Wigan away to leapfrog them and hopefully also Northampton for 13th is all that remains.

Bristol Rovers player ratings vs Peterborough..By Daniel Hargraves.
Jed Ward - 7 The goalkeeper made an outstanding save early in the first half as the ball seemed to be destined to bury itself in the net before a reactionary paw emerged, flapping it away. From then on, he didn't have too many saves to make as Peterborough either couldn't put together the final ball or Rovers got it away before Joel Randall broke the deadlock. Again, not much to do in the second half except pick the ball out of his net again late on.
Luca Hoole (off for Jack Hunt 73') - 7 Some big blocks in defence from the right-back who had a solid afternoon against some excellent players for the division. Also tried his best to get forward and put deliveries into the box but certainly helped keep the score down when Peterborough were dominant in the first half.
Connor Taylor (off for James Connolly 6') - N/A Shame to see the centre-back have to go off so early. Looked to have pulled something when putting the ball out for the corner. We'll have to wait to see how serious it is.
Elkan Baggott - 8 Dominant once again from the Ipswich Town loanee at the back who had a tricky battle against Jonson Clarke-Harris but prevailed superbly. Possibly slightly kind to give a defender an eight in defeat but the Indonesia international stood out once again. From an individual perspective, what an excellent conclusion this has been to a loan spell that started off quite shaky.
Harvey Vale - 6 A couple of decent crosses into the area in the second half but not quite as solid defensively as he has been in the past two games. Still looked to cause danger wherever he could as Gas chased an equaliser.
Jordan Rossiter (off for Kamil Conteh 52') - 7 Tidied up nicely in the middle of the park for Rovers with some big tackles and interceptions in the first half. The midfielder has certainly shown enough to be seen as a nucleus in the middle of the park for the Gas next season if handed a contract and if he can stay fit.
Antony Evans - 6 Not quite his fluid best in the final third playing in a slightly deeper role but did see arguably Rovers' best chance of the game fall to him which forced a decent save from Jed Steer. Always frustrating to see corners go straight into the goalkeeper's hands.
Luke Thomas (off for Harry Vaughan 73') - 6 The ball didn't quite fall for the winger as nicely as it has in recent matches in the final third but his tracking back and pressing was superb which is trademark Thomas.
Brandon Aguilera (off for Luke McCormick 73') - 6 A few bright moments but guilty of losing the ball in seriously dangerous areas on one or two occasions. Not quite sure why the Nottingham Forest loanee didn't test his luck from just outside the area, his eyes certainly flashed a couple of times.
Scott Sinclair - 7 Always looked to be the most likely to create something for Rovers in way of a chance or, with a bit of optimism, a goal. Broke through a number of times in the second half with his pace proving a lot more difficult for Peterborough to deal with.
Jevani Brown - 6 Difficult first half up against the impressive Ronnie Edwards but looked more lively in the second as the stand-in striker dropped deeper to link up with his teammates, somewhere where the forward always looks more comfortable. It was always going to be a tough ask for Brown to lead the line given his creative ability but he gave it a go.
Substitutes: James Connolly (on 6') - 7 Looked solid throughout the game with the defender having to essentially play a full match due to Connor Taylor's early injury. Battled well, won his duels and looked composed on the ball.
Kamil Conteh (on 52') - 6 Filled the Rossiter-sized gap well, linking up with his teammates and looking confident on the ball as the Gas chased an equaliser. Excited for what the midfielder could provide next season.
Harry Vaughan (on 73') - 7 Outstanding contribution from the bench. Given that the Hull City loanee wasn't making the matchday squad this time last week, he has certainly impressed in the two games he has come on in this week. Snatched the ball off Peterborough defenders high up the pitch, linked up well with his teammates and looked a real handful around the penalty area.
Jack Hunt (on 73') - 6 Helped Rovers maintain their momentum as they looked for an equaliser. Best attacking moment was seeing a shot blocked.
Luke McCormick (on 73') - 6 Came on and tried to make an impact but the ball just didn't quite fall for him.

Why Martin did not play. Deserves everything he got and some.

Why Martin did not play. Deserves everything he got and some. That is shocking behaviour....from a seasoned pro' ...two bans this season I believe 🤔two games missing at the start of next.. question mark over his future, despite the goals?

Radio Bristol for me again, still felt rough.Actually I planned to go,but Friday evening I watched 'Zulu' on my mobile and managed to give myself an awful headache.
Rovers sounded impotent.
So much to do in the Summer.Do we have a style or identity these days?
I find it difficult to understand how a team with Thomas and Vale in it,can't be more effective.Eg.
It's a poor show when Posh can brush us aside so comfortably.
Unless there is significant improvement I think we'll be in a relegation battle next season.
Bayonet practice!
