Exciting signing if we pull it off.
If OP had been Harry B I would not have bothered to open this thread. Glad I did, and apols for having to say that as your posts are always valid and interesting

Was he in Roots? He's got a cr@p scoring record! *Wink!* yeah I noticed that he obviously isn't a goal scorer, something that we need at the moment. I guess this season has been written off by the owners, just have to hope we don't drop too far and end up in trouble.

Confirmed by Grimsby, we haven't met the release clause. Bristol Live is now reporting that the owners have agreed to pay £400k breaking the club record fee.

Abdulai Bell-Baggie was the first player to play for both Rovers and Sierra Leone although Stephane Leoni came close bar a few letters.

Sounds like the sort of player that has been missing at Rovers. I think that this summer will be interesting, lots of players leaving and hopefully some quality signings.

]KAMIL AMADU CONTEH born 26.12.2002 London
5’ 9½”; 11 st 9 lbs M
Début: Oxford United 27.1.2024
Career: 2014 Crystal Palace; 2017 Lambeth Tigers; April 2018 Watford (professional, 23.7.21); 5.2.22 Braintree Town (loan); 21.4.22 Middlesbrough (trial); 19.5.22 Middlesbrough (free); 1.10.22 Gateshead (loan); 3.7.23 Grimsby Town [23+2,0]; 26.1.24 Bristol Rovers (£300,000).
Combative, right-footed midfielder Kamil Conteh was Rovers’ first signing in the January 2024 transfer window and the first new arrival at The Mem under manager Matt Taylor. Armed with eight full caps for Sierra Leone, a country for whom he qualified to play through his parentage, he had made his international bow in a 3-0 defeat against Togo in March 2022. By that stage, he was on loan at Braintree Town, for whom he scored once (the only goal of the game against Hungerford Town in February 2022) in ten National League South matches. He was to add 29(+4) National League appearances with Gateshead, being named their Player of the Year for 2022-23; to National League goals against Southend United and Oldham Athletic, he also scored against Stevenage in the FA Cup and against Oldham (again) as the Heed headed towards an FA Trophy final. Indeed, Conteh’s key penalty in the quarter-final shoot-out helped his side reach Wembley, where they lost the 2023 Trophy final 1-0 to Halifax before a crowd of 27,374. His talent had not gone unnoticed, Grimsby snapping him up that summer and Rovers, only days after he had played in an astonishing 5-5 draw with Notts County in League Two, signing him just six months later. Looked very strong on the ball and didn’t shirk responsibility when in possession.

He has the look of a proper controlling midfielder. He wins the ball cleanly, knows how to create space and likes to get forward. So refreshing to see.

Sounds like a player with "sellability" written all over him....is there a sell on clause to benefit Grimsby?
