While I get the financial loss to us by not winning on Weds, and I get it would of been a nice day out for some (..Me personally, I really wasn't interested in the draw and I wouldn't have gone out of my way to get tickets for Liverpoo if we had won, as the fa cup as lost it sparkle for me so it was a meh game now.)
I get it meant extra to Finley and Evans, but seeing some of the cringe,over reaction of some of our players and fans when the draw was first made and then our loss is embarrassing...🥴
The reaction was like when we had loss our title push in 99/2000 under Holloway, or relegation in 2014,losing to Northampton in the playoff semis in 1998, or even our FA cup QF loss to WBA in 2010..those all deserved that heartbreak reaction...but not having a day out to Liverpoo, nah not for me.
I know in our lifetimes we will never be as big of a club as Liverpoo, but we come from a city pretty much the same size as them, so shouldn't the drive as a club be to get to the same level as them and play them yearly?
I just find the small fry,ragbag Rovers mentality abit cringe at times and it holds us back.

When fans quote the season in non league was the most enjoyable season supporting Rovers you know aiming for the top is a waste of energy. As Gasheads we have always accepted who we are and where we are and I don't see that changing in my lifetime. The irony of quoting Liverpool is we were once as big as them.
Sunday mornings are a lot more palatable after a Saturday loss knowing that it doesn't really matter.

I recall conversations when we moved to the Mem' over the following years in the 'Clubhouse'. . . The stock reply to my input to these conversations was generally: "Oh shut up Dave, give it a rest with your banging on about this club having no ambition."
Incidentally, I saw all those Liverpool games against a very watchable Rovers' side for 10 years.
Though; no ambition (no buy, no sell)

It was the only thing we were playing for this season, we are now left with the seasons highlight being a new stand. FA cup is great, the only level playing field that we have. |

National television coverage an attendance over 58000 how often do we get that?
We don't get a chance very often to play big clubs

typeset as it appears not to be working!?
I understand both stances here.
It's akin to being knocked out in area final to get to Wembley in Mickey Mouse cup before it was b@stardised....a big day out, monetary rewards, some media exposure and in some way taking the limelight away from our rivals (that if anyone watched them lot v west haaaam would hear Jonathan sh!thread Perce wax lyrical and give history lesson on such a one sided commentary and punditry).
I can understand fans and players disappointed also because we rarely get a biggy draw in last 24 years.
But op makes good points too.
Pragmatically there's just a long weekend at most distractions, that would put us where we are now.
On a weird, naive note, does anyone think if we had Anfield fixture next week, it would encourage a signing or two coming in?

I agree O2 the large windfall would have enabled the owners to fulfil their promise of new signings and backroom support promised to Matt Taylor. Following recent results I can see purse strings being drawn in ready for the next pre season. |

Likely the same f**ktards that thought Poundland Pep was a football genius and sang his name at games. Taylor wouldn’t have been my first choice but he has made a decent start and I really like the way he is trying to make the most of the hand he has been dealt without complaining or hanging any player out to dry in public. We have to get behind him for the rest of this season and all the next as a minimum. If we are not showing signs of progress by then, then I think it is not unfair to start asking questions. Progress too in my book means being more consistent and playing more cohesively as a team rather than necessarily play offs/promotion, though either would be nice. I’d also not expect us to be staring down the trap door either. Season 3 in the promotion mix is not an unreasonable ask either |

No, I was not interested in the game or going whatsoever... I dislike Liverpoo as a club,they always play the victim and their plastic fans from surry and Henleaze,along with some of their ex players are some of the most arrogant people in the game.No appeal at all for me in today's FA cup and I don't follow any other club than us. |

Never got carried away with this as much as the commentators kept ramming it down our throats of a big money tie vs Liverpool. Personally I was over the moon at the away draw with Norwich, we had a good go at them and that’s all I expected.

Have tried to keep away from commenting on this one. But the lack of respect (the way the name was changed ) to a major club in this country who, had we gone there yesterday would have shown us total respect. Klopp always shows respect as does the club.
Says a lot more about the OP than it does Liverpool or BRFC. Sad really.

I was talking with the good lady last night and we both agreed , that’s incredible in itself, that the many platforms have changed our lives for the worst. |
