In a one-page letter that she posted on X this afternoon, Shaheen says she would "almost certainly" have won the Chingford and Woodford Green seat she had stood for in 2019, and had been hoping to stand for again at this election. She says that her removal has been "cruel and devastating". The former Labour candidate says she will be deciding her next steps and will "make an announcement tomorrow". Shaheen was banned from standing for Labour after complaints she "liked" social media posts that allegedly downplayed antisemitism.
