I logged into Ifollow for the Pompey game on my desktop and the picture was excellent. Then I tried casting it to my telly and it was glitchy and very poor on the telly
So I logged in on my laptop, and plugged a cable from the laptop to the telly, and the telly version was excellent
Any tips on how to improve the (Googlechrome) casting please?

I always HDMI the laptop to the tv as the cast quality is poor. I don't think there is a way around it.
I use a MacBook Pro to a LG C3 TV which is only 10 months old so it's not as if I'm using old tech either.
I just think the download vs upload speed through the cast just isn't quick enough to cope.

Agreed, HDMI cable is the best and probably only way to watch on a large screen.
For some reason iFollow will not optimise their service for casting. I suspect it may be something to do with making it difficult to (illegally) show the game to a large audience. e.g. in pubs etc.

I watch directly through the internet on my Smart TV. It's a bit slow getting in but plays OK with hardly any buffering that I used to get when casting from my laptop.

I watch directly through the internet on my Smart TV. Using the TV's internet browser app and typing in the URL?

As the Charlton game isn't on a Saturday, I was guessing that it would be available on i-Follow. Yet there is no mention of it on the Rovers Official website, unless you go searching within the i-Follow section: www.bristolrovers.co.uk/matches/fixtures/first-team/202324/december/bristol-rovers-vs-charlton-athletic-on-29-dec-23/While over on the Charlton website they are advertising it on their website: www.charltonafc.com/You would think that Rovers would be plugging the game being available online, especially as all tickets have now gone. People have been saying how good our media has been. I honestly haven't seen much difference since 2014, when we had far less people involved in the media, and the Official website itself has been shocking for the past couple of year - only seem interested in tweets (or whatever they are now, I don't do it), and then have been called out for unprofessional tweets.

I don't understand why they can't develop an app for smart TVs and media players. It's like they're ten years behind. WiFi's fine for mobiles and tablets but totally inadequate for bigger screens. I watch it on my iPad most of the time, which always looks sharp, but watched it on a smart TV the other day from the internet. It was okay but far from the usual quality you get with Sky.

I agree completely. This Christmas we've paid to stream four (Harry Potter) films from YouTube, in 4K UHD and 5.1 channel sound, all flawlessly, and I'm sure they stream live events too. I don't want to use phones, tablets, or laptops to watch anything. Football streaming is way behind the times.

I understand that the EFL/ifollow contract will expire at the end of the current campaign and Portsmouth are viewing this as an opportunity to develop their own TV channel and manage the streaming of games themselves rather than via a 3rd party.
I'm sure there are posters on this forum that can explain how things might change far better than I.
Is this an opportunity for Rovers to explore something similar to Pompey? Would this improve the options for the streaming service?
With the comments regarding paucity of info dripping through the club website right now would a Rovers TV channel be a step to far at this moment in time?

To stream to my Panasonic, from Apple products , you have to install an app as the TV is android. I did not like this at first as the upstairs LG mirrors from Apple and no app BUT I have found that the app gives a much better picture. I picked the Panasonic for its music av processors as they are the best for my active speakers. Chromecast could just be a case of updating software, worth a try

A very long time since I've used iFollow - Dec 2nd 2020. Is it any better?!? I am just recovering from a bout of Covid. Can't go out yet. So here I am again... HDMI from laptop to a decent sized computer monitor. Some idiot from Cadbury Heath tried to tell me that I could easily 'cast' the signal to my main TV - but apparently that tech is crap. a more piratey game

Coverage of the Pompey game was pretty good (even young Piratey, who knows about these things, agreed). As long as you have an HDMI cable, obvs

Attachment DeletedManaged to get ifollow to work through the horrible Amazon Silk bowser on the Fire stick in our (non smart) TV. A nightmare trying to achieve full-screen, and it's crashed out once in the first five minutes.

Why has iFollow given FREE access to audio coverage of the Norwich game?
On their site it states: "You already have access to this match. Listen live in the match centre."
