Wouldn’t the Head of Football Operations be the senior executive who told the manager he had been relieved of his duties ? Eddy Jennings. I was going to say he has been unusually quiet. Then realised he hasn't said anything. Ever. But he must be on the endangered list. Are you sure there is such a thing as Eddy Jennings ? The Head of Football Operations might just be AU.

Are you sure there is such a thing as Eddy Jennings ? The Head of Football Operations might just be AU. Gold? No I meant a variation of artificial intelligence. But I suppose it could just as easily be fools gold. I hope we're not going to get a continuation of the fools paradise where people join the club in positions of importance but never communicate and others are announced with a great fanfare then disappear without trace. While all the time we're meant to stay "loyal", keep quiet and pretend this is all perfectly normal.

So I’m thinking we have some insight into what the new owner doesn’t like - lack of professionalism and cliques built around a personality - which seems positive
I’m wondering what it is that he does/will like. Any thoughts?

Any thoughts? With a 45% partner on board he’ll need all the shrewdness he can muster if he wants to make the changes outlined in his first interview.

As gasheads it's the hope that kills you
Been waiting decades now for a return to the championship
Who remembers the Bristol derbies The trips to and from Ashton Gate were always difficult affairs.

The Concept - Any news from Tom in the Whitby programme? A new owner, and nothing said by the CEO. Eh? I can only draw one conclusion. And if that conclusion is correct, I really don't wish him any ill. p.s. And I meant to comment on this before; something you posted recently on the Oxford MDT struck a chord ... "Only just heard about the result. I just don't care any more. Ah, it was the officials what done Rovers then. Got it. Barton hasn't laid into one of the team as a scapegoat then. This week, 'tis the officials what done the Gas. When will this endless gobsh*tery end? When will his brainless sycophants see through this crap?
Barton is a stain on BRFC. Hopefully it is not an indelible one."You got a bit of abuse for it. Comments from a couple of people with stuff like "Bye, bye" ... "You won't be missed". Not sure how it was for you. For me I've had the feeling that I just don't care for quite some time. It's not as some might think, if you're reading those words in print, that it's a naaah nah-nah nah-nah, don't care anyway, turn your back and stomp off. No, it's just a sad realisation that the result of the game, either way, has no impact on you. I used to come home from games with a sore throat from cheering the team on. But then I found myself just sat quietly watching the game or chatting. Sometimes I used to get home with scrages on the shins from the seat in front, jumping in the air when we scored. But then found myself giving a cheer and quietly getting to my feet and applauding. If we lost I used to have a gloomy rest of the weekend. But then no longer affected. I'd gone from listening to away games on the Radio, or watching on I-Follow, to looking up the scores after the final whistle. I'd stopped going to the early rounds of cup games that my season-ticket didn't cover. It was a horrible feeling. Something that had been such a huge part of your life, for 50 years plus, now didn't have a meaning. And to compound it all, I was reading forums and social media, that people who thought the same way as me were told "Bye, bye" ... "You won't be missed" ... "Go to Trashton". Horrible. Barton gone and people said "Can we all get on now?" I don't know. I certainly won't forget those posters who made me feel like s**t. I know of 4 people who had stopped going. None appear to be ready to return. It seems time has passed and they've found other things to do. One was more fanatical than me, every game home and away, but currently watching Mangotsfield instead. Another was heavily involved with BRFPA, wrote for the programme, but when I spoke to him at a gig in the summer he didn't seem to want to talk about Rovers at all - weekends now taken up with the family. And I think it's going to take some time for me to get the feeling back. I wouldn't have gone Saturday if my dad didn't want someone to go with. But a cloud has certainly lifted, and it has been better. Don't think I ever responded! Anyway, just searched "Mangotsfield" (probably going there Saturday) and saw myself and the Mangos both referenced here. Did you get the feeling back? How did I feel when getting abuse for critisizing Barton and his sycophants? Sad that so many of the people I associated myself with (ie Gasheads), I disagreed with so vehemently on such a fundamental level. A combination of Wael's gross incompetence, Covid, lies about mythical stadiums and to top it all the Barton appointment = total disengagement with a Club I supported (from Essex ffs)! for 34 years. I watched Gas / Cheltenham Dec 2024 and didn't feel anything. We scored. Muted hurrah. Not bouncing around the terrace hugging strangers. I'm quite jealous of people who never lost it. Good luck to them and when I see Rovers win I feel good for people I know who support them. For me though, nada. SC Freiburg 2 VfL Bochum 1 and Freiburger FC 2 SC Durbachtal 0 last weekend, Mangotsfield vs Stonehouse Town next weekend. That's where I am. Good luck Rovers. I think you're going to need it.

I go to mangos once or twice a season, are they building a new terrace side behind where the dugouts use to be? I went past there the other day.

Thanks for the heads up. fulltime.thefa.com/displayTeam.html?id=201390832 still has Cossham Street as the venue. I'll do some digging...

Slowly coming back, but far from what it was. Dad died in January, so that has had an affect on me, having attended together for 50 years. The first 2 home games I felt I celebrated the goals, and shouted encouragement, more than I had since Covid. Didn't bother to go to any pre-season friendlies though. And can't imagine I'll bother with any early rounds of any of the cup competitions, which means I won't see any cup games! :-) ... Won't be going to any of whatever the Leyland DAF / Sherpa Van / Freight Rover / Auto Windscreen is called these days - won't until they get rid of the U21 thing.
