Post match interview by Barton calling out another Rovers player Luke Thomas blaming him for the defeat...unbelievable publicly criticising him saying player will be loaned out. Disgusting behaviour by the manager Wooo. Loaning out one of our best players this season, who we bought after a decent loan spell, bookended by hammering his mental health in public. I think JB may be thinking that he will get the boot shortly if he isn't careful and is feeling the pressure. Maybe it's... either he goes or I go. Well, cheerio then!

The Barton sycophants will have you believe this is good man management and that Thomas needs a firm boot up the arse.
Hope he (Barton) is gone soon but fear that he still has too much hold over the club even with the new ownership model

Wow! Just listened on BBC i-Player.
What a nasty, horrible, spiteful interview that was. And it wasn't just a couple of lines - he kept going and going, and didn't stop until the interviewer cut in. And then the interviewer tried to change the subject at least twice, but every time Barton kept bringing up LT.
He talked about 'when will the penny drop', well when will the penny drop with his fanclub. Thomas L (twice); Clarke (twice); Belshaw; Collins, Thomas B; Rodman - have I missed anyone out (there are suspicions of fallings out with coaching staff) - when will these public outbursts stop?
His voice changes, becoming quicker and angrier, like someone has switched on an evil switch.

I wonder how many have considered that he may have employed lawyers of similar caliber to draw up the contracts which he and his team have with Rovers ? We’ve had confirmation that Colonel Gibson has left the board but the local newspaper was very anxious to tell us he is still working at the club. I suspect that’s because he has a contract which has to be honored so Rovers must keep paying him. And say, for example, it cost 100 000 to pay up the contract of Chief Scout Chris Spendlove what would it cost to get rid of Mangan or Barton himself and the rest of them ? A seven figure sum for sure.

I just heard the interview.
I was with JB with the fact that Luke carried on with an injury. But I stopped listening when he said he would speak to the CEO to see if he could be fined to cover the supporters costs. Thats full on public bullying, if that was me I would want to leave the club. Maybe JB should have wages deducted for some of his squad decisions. We could have have wage deductions all over the shop.

Maybe JB should have wages deducted for some of his squad decisions. We could have have wage deductions all over the shop. Joey, just STFU and deal with these things in-house. You can't use the 'nuclear' option of calling out a player with Thomas's past history as a motivational tool. Its always been my impression that Hunt is a very good attacking full-back who is defensively suspect, to the point of actually being a wing-back. Its a shame that Radio Bristol didn't ask Rinus Michels why he was played against a side renowned for their pacy and adept wingers or why Boro apparently deliberately targeted Hunt from the outset. And bringing on our 34-year-old former Bristol C*ty free transfer to trundle around manfully for the last 20 minutes of a 2-0 defeat against our 'record' signing is almost quintessentially Bristol Rovers - this, when considered in combination with the 'patio end' of our home stadium and Barton's ongoing war with the Bristol Evening Post, gloriously explodes the notion that we are becoming an increasingly professionalised and credible club. My impression was always that JCH was not soon as the 'last piece in the jigsaw', but more as a gamble and an implicit acknowledgement that JB is increasingly running on empty.

So many people defending the worst type of people management. The times I have seen this used were in the 70s and 80s when people were bullied out of workplaces. Yet on social media his backers are saying he's right to call him out, he needs a kick, it'll sort him out.... Really? No it's just bullying, plain and simple!

Stats: Peterborough 2 BRFC 0 - Possession: 50% - 50% - Shots: 15-16 - On Target: 7-2 - Corners: 9-9 - Referee: Ben Toner - Attendance: 9,044 (433 away)
From the Posh post report by Alan Swann...
Most eyes would still of course be on Posh striker Jonson Clarke-Harris who faced the team that nearly bought him on transfer deadline day. Rovers kept him and Posh quiet in both meetings between the clubs last season.
It was a sluggish start by Posh apart from a couple of fine corner deliveries from captain-for-the-day Harrison Burrows. Rovers pressed hard and had some joy robbing the ball off Posh midfielders, but lacked a cutting edge in the opening 45 minutes with one scramble and double deflection caused by a backheel from John Marquis the only moment of concern.
And then a deflection was much kinder to Posh in the 26th minute. A weak free kick from Burrows was hacked clear to Collins who struck his shot well from 25 yards, but whether or not it would have gone in without the nick off Rovers’ Josh Grant is debatable. It was a first Posh goal for the stylish midfielder.
The speed of Ricky-Jade Jones caused Rovers the most problems in a low standard opening 45 minutes. He took visiting ‘keeper Matthew Cox by surprise to nick the ball off him, but slipped as he contemplated pulling the trigger.
Jones also escaped beyond floundering full-back Jack Hunt on a couple of occasions to surge into the penalty area without finding the killer cross.
Little was seen of Clarke-Harris until his headed flick freed Ephron Mason-Clark into the area, but he poked wide after a struggle to control the ball.
Posh carried their advantage into the break, but a lead has meant very little for Darren Ferguson’s side this season.
But they started the second half perfectly, extending their lead within three minutes of the re-start.
Jones was the architect with some more hassling of Hunt which caused the defender to slip.
Jones then showed excellent precision and vision to pick out Kyprianou who was denied a tap in by a fine save from Cox, but luckily for Posh Ajiboye was on hand to convert the rebound and claim his first Football League goal for the club.
Rovers responded well and should have replied immediately when Aaron Collins pounced on a header across goal from Connor Taylor, but Clarke-Harris made an excellent block on the goal-line.
Clarke-Harris did less well 60 seconds later when Aiboye’s cross and a defensive deflection gave him the chance to score a headline-grabbing goal, but he volleyed well wide.
That second goal, and the arrival of former Posh youth team player Jevani Brown, pepped Rovers up who were suddenly more urgent going forward.
Knight deflected a Collins shot over and Brown struck a post. Shots started to come in, but most were blocked before they troubled Nicholas Bilokapic
Manager Ferguson helped seal the win as he made substitutions that enabled Posh get up the pitch more easily. Zak Sturge, Ryan De Havilland and Jacob Wakeling were excellent, while Romoney Crichlow defended well when he appeared.
Kyprianou, who was cautioned and will now be suspended for the trip to Carlisle on Tuesday, should have wrapped the points up four minutes from time after good work from De Havilland, but Cox smothered his close range shot.
Mason-Clarke, who was far more effective as a centre-forward than as a 10, saw a shot well tipped over by Cox.
Seven minutes were added on at the end of the game, but once substitute Scott Sinclair had poked wide with just Bilokapic to beat the Rovers challenge petered out and Posh moved up to fifth.
Posh: Nicholas Bilokapic, Harrison Burrows, Jadel Katongo (sub, Romoney Crichlow, 66 mins) Ronnie Edwards, Josh Knight, David Ajibioye (sub Jacob Wakeling, 89 mins), Hector Kyprianou, Archie Collins, Ricky-Jade Jones (sub Zak Sturge, 70 mins), Ephron Mason-Clark, Jonson Clarke-Harris (sub Ryan De Havilland 70 mins).
Unused subs: Fynn Talley, Kai Corbett, Charlie O’Connell.
Rovers: Matthew Cox, Harvey Vale, Joshua Grant, Connor Taylor, Jack Hunt, Sam Finley (sub Chris Martin, 78 mins), Lamare Bogarde (sub Luke McCormick 84 mins), Anthony Evans (sub Ryan Woods, 78 mins), Luke Thomas (sub Jevani Brown, 48 mins), John Marquis (sub Scott Sinclair, 83 mins), Aaron Collins
Unused subs: Matthew Hall, Luca Hoole,
Goals: Posh – Collins (26 mins), Ajiboye (48 mins).
Cautions: Posh – Collins (foul), Jones (foul), Knight (foul), Kyprianou (foul), Ajiboye (foul).
Rovers – Evans (foul), Taylor (dissent).

Bristol Rovers boss Joey Barton launches an astonishing outburst at his own player after 'inferior' Peterborough United beat his team..by Alan Swann.
Manager Joey Barton was frustrated Bristol Rovers were beaten by a Peterborough United team he rates as inferior to his own.
Barton also launched an astonishing verbal assault on his own player Luke Thomas as he was deemed culpable for the crucial second goal in the early stages of the second half.
"Their first goal was a deflected hit that went through a crowd of bodies and our keeper had no chance,” Barton said.
“Then to compound it one idiotic young boy – I can’t even call him a man – has compromised the team with his behavioural standards and we find ourselves 2-0 down with a mountain to climb.
“I can’t fault the other 10 players or the lads that came off the bench because they kept plugging away and kept pushing.
“Unless we man up – and I know you have to be careful saying that in the modern era – and absolutely eradicate these weak, feeble-minded individuals that are currently inside our unit, we won’t get promoted out of this division.
“’Luke reported his hamstring was tight one minute before we were going out. He got told to test it and said ‘no, I’m fine’.
“The ball is down his side and he said his hamstring has gone so we were about to make a substitution. “But, in his infinite wisdom, he goes to press the ball and completely exposes Jack Hunt.
“We should do better after that, but we find ourselves 2-0 down – all because someone hasn’t got the mindset required to make the correct call to keep the team strong.
“I’m frustrated, disappointed and gutted for the travelling fans who came in their numbers and I think anyone who has been here today will see we were more than a match for Peterborough.
“We didn’t get that little bit of luck and we were sabotaged from within with an idiotic decision by Luke.
“I can’t really get too down on the lads as I thought there was some really good stuff out there, but some days it just doesn’t go for you.
“A deflection ends up in our net, we hit the post and the chunky legs of Jonson Clarke-Harris came to their aid on the goal-line!
“It was like trying to get round an oak tree on the line, but Aaron Collins has got to score that.
“The thing that’s really annoyed me is at 1-0 I still really fancied us. I thought we were the better side and said to the lads at half-time that Peterborough had scored against the run of play.
“The frustrating thing for me is because of an idiotic decision we find ourselves 2-0 down and they had something to hang onto.
“We’ve had a right go at them, but we couldn’t find that breakthrough and it’s three points dropped because we’re better than them.”

Barton is such a hypocrite. This is a guy who, when a player, let down his teammates all throughout his career.
I wonder if he’s man enough to admit he went too far in that interview?

"Unless he changes his ways he's never going to fulfill his potential" -Joey Barton
No, not a quote about Barton but by Barton. If Carlsberg did irony....
Luke, if by chance you are reading this, ignore this moron. The performances and effort you have put in this (and previous seasons) have been outstanding. I'm a Gashead through and through but you deserve a better club and definitely a better manager. Keep your head up and start to look elsewhere. I for one will follow your future career with interest and excitement.
Barton has crossed the Rubicon on this one. If the club executives choose to ignore it, they are no better than this sub par individual.
Edit: All this just when I thought Barton and the team looked like it had turned a corner. Silly me

The mad thing about this is that Barton would be tearing into him for being weak etc if he’d limped off at half time. You can understand the lad wanting to try to stay out there.
I remember the time Barton laid into him when he was on loan for having the audacity go miss a chance at Salford. He wasn’t the reason we didn’t win that day. His team mates who couldn't defend a lead or create anything of note against 9 men for over 30 mins were yet our tactical genius singles Thomas out to vent his spleen on.
To do this at all is rank bad management but to do it in the public domain is abhorrent. In many other walks of life Barton would be drinking through a straw for quite some time

Apparently in the “ Investment Memorandum” potential buyers were being advised that Wael & Joe’s continuing involvement was essential if the club was to succeed. I wonder whether the Al Saeeds bought into that ?
