Season average of just over 8900 That's very good. Maybe next season we'll get near or actually reach a five figure average. If we are competing at the top end more of the season next time perhaps we may. As always, the potential is there if you have the team to mine it. I believe it is your chum JB's crunch season where we need to see the action match the rhetoric and self belief. It is going to be an interesting, no excuses, season. Can he walk the walk as well as talk the talk?

Joe said we'll go up and we went up.Plenty of walking to match the talking. What would constitute "challenging "? Top 9 would probably mean a fc is in the play off chasing pack. Want to bet? £100 says we'll finish 9th or higher next season.

I said we would finish 10th and that was pessimistic after many of you and your fellow Barton supporters said we would be in the play offs. Have the courage of your convictions, I will pay £100 to your favourite charity if we finish in the play offs or automatic promotion spot. You can pay £50 to The Samaritans if he doesn't.

Dead easy, top three a walk in the park. This season 5 of the top 6 have recently been in the premier league, players on 10 grand plus a week. Sides like Wycombe, Shrewsbury, Burton that cheat, whoops game manage and manipulate the incompetent clowns that run around in their Saturday/ Tuesday amateur fog. Yep Barton should be hung drawn and quartered if we don’t win the league by next Easter after all nobody can understand why he can’t walk on water.

Haha! Naw,I'm not made of money. Chesh has done alright with the bet,"challenging " shot up to reaching the play offs or automatic.I'm okay with that as The Samaritans are a very worthy cause.

Now Epping we don't want to bankrupt Bas! I sincerely hope that Bas proves me wrong and I lose the bet.

I have to say I respect your unbridled enthusiasm... that does occasionally fly in the face of any reasoned argument If anyone wants a top half / bottom half bet let me know. Here's the 2023-24 summary. Half the 'new' team are loanees with scouse accents. They take time to gel. After a poor start Rovers slowly climb the division. There is even talk of the play-offs. Then Barton then falls out with several key players, hangs them out to dry in public, and momentum is lost. Rovers finish 17th, with Barton taking his now traditional 1 point from the last 6 games.

How big a wager Epping, concerning the 1st to 13th positions against 13th to 24th positions?

I noticed Andy Mangan leaving the East Stand at half time.
Not sure if that's a regular thing, but is something I heartedly approve of. You get a much better wider view of proceedings up there, can better spot patterns of play, where the gaps are, where to exploit, and can keep in contact with the bench with anything to report.
Never understood why people moaned in the past, when we had managers up in the TV gantry for the first half.

Should I win I will pay half of the proceeds to a charidee of your choice (though in the immortal words of Smashie & Nicie and I don't like to talk about that very often).

Bas, I halved your side of the bet to make it fair! 'Challenging' to me has to be play offs, not outside.... If Barton walks the walk as much as he talks the talk, then I will be happy to pay out! But he's not proved that he is the next Neil Warnock, Sam Allardyce or Pep Guardiola just yet!

I get that feeling he never will be 🤔..to me ( from the outside of not watching on field play) he may have the intention to achieve but maybe a little lack of self belief in maintaining or trusting a hard core eleven/ fourteen to do the job and stop meddling with set ups... Shoot now if you wish ..

Maybe put this up somewhere fixed please. He got us out of League two thanks to his merry gang of ex-Fleetwood players who didn't need bedding in because they knew the bloke inside out, a lucky punt on Elliot Anderson, an already relegated Scunthorpe team for the last game of the season and a Northampton team that couldn't score one goal needed to take them up. Hardly the work of a genius. The coming season will show what he's really made of.
