US election: Donald Trump wins crushing victory in Nevada caucus..By Emma Vardy, BBC News.i.dailymail.co.uk/1s/2022/11/16/02/64591549-11432921-image-a-47_1668565711885.jpgFormer President Donald Trump has won the Nevada Republican caucus by a large margin. The only other person whose name was on the ballot was Ryan Binkley, a pastor and businessman. It means Mr Trump will take all Nevada's 26 delegates, the system used by the parties to determine their presidential candidate. Initial results reported by CNN showed the former president gaining more than 98% of the vote. Briefly addressing a victory party in Las Vegas, Donald Trump said: "If we win this state, we easily win the election in November." Donald Trump has now won contests in three states - Nevada, Iowa and New Hampshire - making him the presumptive Republican candidate in November's general election. He also won a Republican caucus in the US Virgin Islands, an unincorporated territory. Donald Trump's only serious challenger left in the race, former South Carolina Governor Nikki Haley, had opted not to take part in the Nevada caucus and to appear in the state's primary vote instead. Two separate ballots were held in Nevada because of a dispute between the state Republican Party and the Democratic-controlled state legislature. In Tuesday's primary, Nikki Haley was beaten by the "none of these candidates" option. But the result was symbolic as the state's Republican party had decided that only the results of the caucus would count towards the selection of the presidential candidate. Nikki Haley's team said they did not take part in the caucus, claiming it had been "rigged for Trump". The situation in Nevada caused confusion and frustration. It had been criticised by the state's Republican governor, who said there should have been a single ballot for voters. Although the result of the Nevada caucus was a foregone conclusion, the state will be hotly contested in the November presidential election. The vote is effectively guaranteed to be a rematch between 2020 candidates Donald Trump and Joe Biden. Mr Trump's next stop will be South Carolina, where he will again go head to head against Nikki Haley. Despite three defeats, she has vowed to fight on, arguing that Republican supporters want to see an alternative to Donald Trump and that "voters want an election, not a coronation".

AND Biden is now officially senile....cant remember names or dates, we have long known this he makes long rambling speeches where he tells the same stories but mentions different people (some dead) in the same scenario but on different occasions. 98% Trump in Nevada....hold on,werent we told that he 'chickened out' there ? Nikki Haley says she will keep on running even after being thrashed 3 times in the first 3 states, surely she must be getting backing from the Democrats ?

Trump Evens now to win the election. 16-1 ON to win the Republican nomination. Good grief. Looks like the continuing 'noise' around trying to indict him continues to help. Either that, or he is clearly the stronger candidate. For bleeding heart liberals out there - money where your (frothing) mouth is. Biden as wide as 9-4.

I don't think you will find many "liberals" overly enthusiastic with Biden. Have you looked at his proposed Border Bill? It is so hard the loony Republicans won't for it because they wanted to do it!! There was never much doubt that Trump would win the Republican nomination, even though "thinking" traditional conservatives are generally repulsed by him. Whether he can carry the nation is another question...it may well happen with Biden stumbling so badly. We shall see... everybody I speak to over there are horrified by the prospect of another Trump tenure. But then they don't read the New York Post or tune into Fox news or it's equivalent.

One ploy the Democrats could use is to get Biden to do an open top car ride around Dallas, the problem would be that Harris is probably just as unelectable as the senile one.
Poor old Biden comes out fighting to say that he isnt an elderly gent who cant remember things and then goes on to misname the Egyptian president ! some of his mumbling bumbling speeches recently have been embarrassing to listen to.

Is she credible, when she says this in public? "Dr. Carole Lieberman: Biden is a shadow of a man. He's Obama’s puppet. Obama is pulling the strings that make Biden dance. Obama put America in danger during his presidency, especially in danger of terrorism. So, it's of grave concern that the Obama-Biden presidency will now put America in danger again. ISIS (Daesh in Arabic, also known as IS/ISIL/Islamic State)* and al-Qaeda* have not stopped planning to destroy America, despite many Americans having been distracted by COVID-19 and politics. Trump kept America safe by reaching out to world leaders and especially by defending America against terrorists – destroying the caliphate and top terrorist leaders." 😂😂

I am surprised that people are just waking up to Bidens mental health problems,he has always seemed confused even before he became president. Early onset dementia can happen,I slightly knew someone who was diagnosed in his 50s,his wife noticed that he was reading the same page of a book/newspaper over and over and checking the time every few minutes, very sad for him and his family and friends. I read this morning that Bidens granddaughter told him to retire but most shocking is that he takes his wife into meetings and asks her "what do you think Jill"? surely that cant be right.

Trump upsetting the left and the media,he says that if NATO member countries dont pay their full contribution he will encourage Putin to do "what the hell he likes to them".
The EU need to get on and set up their army, one day Trump or another president will pull out of NATO,they pay the most and its really about the defence of Europe,it was set up long ago, times have changed and circumstances too. I certainly wouldnt want to be committed to paying for something that my great grandfather might have though was a good idea in the 1940s.

Highlighting the disgraceful lack of defence spending by most NATO members. In a world threatened by Russia, Iran and potentially China - does he have a point ? Yes he does. Will this appeal to a majority of the American public - yes, it probably does. Why should the US carry the main burden (in % terms, let alone net figures)? Will this latest bit of rhetoric attract column inches - yes it will. Were his words irresponsible and dangerous - yup. But he's got people talking about it. He wants to prompt a re-think about how NATO is funded. Worst case scenario (when/if he is President) he could threaten to withdraw. Solution. NATO members need to step up to their broken promises. www.statista.com/chart/14636/defense-expenditures-of-nato-countries/ Jan 12, 2024 "The concept that NATO countries should spend 2 percent of their GDP on defense was debuted in 2014 and by 2024, members of the military alliance should technically have "moved towards" or beyond this goal". Why America will not abandon Europe to invasion by the Russians (for example) "The European Union and the United States have the largest bilateral trade and investment relationship and enjoy the most integrated economic relationship in the world. Although overtaken by China in 2020 as the largest trading partner specifically for goods, when services and investment are taken into account, the US remains the EU’s largest trading partner by far." policy.trade.ec.europa.eu/eu-trade-relationships-country-and-region/countries-and-regions/united-states_en#:~:text=The%20European%20Union%20and%20the,economic%20relationship%20in%20the%20world. "The United States has a services trade surplus of an estimated $71.2 billion with the European Union in 2022" Meanwhile with the UK "U.S. goods and services trade with United Kingdom totaled an estimated $295.6 billion in 2022. Exports were $158.2 billion; imports were $137.4 billion. The U.S. goods and services trade surplus with United Kingdom was $20.8 billion in 2022." They are not going to let that go. Should we and the EU, spend enough to defend ourselves without the Americans, I believe so. Do we need to do it as a joint enterprise with our continental neighbours? I believe it is the only tenable option. Will the nationalists in the UK ignore the facts and harsh realities, you bet they will Cue numb nuts jumping up and down about joing a European defence force. Clueless.

Over to you @nobby to comment. When not if a future American president pulls out of NATO the continental European countries will probably cobble together some kind of EU army, Britain should avoid getting involved in that. Britain should declare armed neutrality with strong armed forces the emphasise being on defence of the country and territorial waters,I think that the nuclear deterrent should be kept. Too many British lives have been lost in various wars on the European continent,WW1 was a tragedy,a ridiculous treaty with Belgium dragged Britain into that war, Belgium a country that more than 50% of its own people want independence from. I have said before that remainiacs/remoaners/rejoiners whatever ,should join an EU army and be prepared to fight for their dream union, the problem is that sort of person will not go they prefer to say what "we" should do...you have to understand that by "we" they mean someone else.
