Watched the game on TV today and was encouraged by the overall passing and movement of the team which has definitely improved, now wondering if a pitch more towards the size of FGR would be better suited to the type of football played today.
Now then, on to the thug, smart punters would have put money on him being involved in a flashpoint today and he was quick to muscle in on Lee Brown and start acting the big man.
What many of you at the game may not have noticed was his treatment towards Andy Monkhouse who will sat on the floor had to endure the bully wading in with a deliberate knee in the back of his head, the intent was crystal clear by the look on his face.
Question is can the officials watch the game again and impose at least a yellow on this vile individual?

"Question is can the officials watch the game again and impose at least a yellow on this vile individual?" Pretty sure in the league, they can can only retrospective give a red card & not a yellow. In the Conference I'm not to sure, still think they can't though.

They've obviously got the opposite of a zero tolerance policy at FGR.
Hughes, Pipe, Coles.
You give us a thug at the right price, no questions asked.

Coles was well up for it today. I've never seen him celebrate a goal like he did today when FGR scored. It was noticeable how at the final whistle he immediately made a bee line for the centre circle as far from the Rovers fans as possible. Meanwhile Pipe cam towards the Rovers section behind the goal and applauded the fans - and received some applause back. Niether left Rovers in the best of situations but one showed a bit of respect for Gasheads today and the other lived up to his loutish reputation.

I might be in the minority here, but that was what the egg chasers would call handbags at dawn. We're in the conference, no La Liga, it's a physical game in a physical league. I doubt the league would look at retrospective card for anything over than a horrific leg breaker.

Any knowledge on the intricacies and delicate nature of the cerebellum? As someone who now has big problems with the spinal chord due to a similar incident I'm struggling to understand your patronising response and ignorance to the nature of spinal injuries which with a little more force from the thug could have resulted in a very different outcome. I'm fully aware of the nature of this league and have watched plenty of non league and amateur games but that is a fist for me watching someone trying to drop their full weight (and the cowardly bully has plenty of it) from the knee cap down into the back of someone's neck.

Good point well made IMO Poor point, poorly made IMO. I am not an expert on the intricacies of the spinal cord or the delicate nature of the cerebellum, but I've had to put up with my rugby mates telling me football has gone soft, and when I hear people being so precious about a slight tap with the knee I'm made uncomfortably aware that they are probably right. Perhaps a doctor can explain to me why minimal contact with the back of the head carries a significant risk of a broken neck and why similar contacts in other sports don't carry the same risk...I had thought of adding an additional comment, no less insulting than you referring to me as 'ignorant' and 'patronising' but I decided against it when I realised your utterly tribalistic comment speaks for itself. EDIT TO ADD: One of said egg chasers is a GP, so I'm sure he's quite aware of what does and does not constitute deadly force to the spinal cord and the cerebellum...Perhaps if I'm wrong your complaint might be better directed towards the police.

I've looked at the recording and don't see much to get upset about, on the other hand Lockyer was lucky to only receive a yellow for his wild challenge and constant yapping.

FGRs goal should have been disallowed for a definite handball. He couldn't do much about it but that is not the point it wnet in off his arm and is therefore handball. Never mind a good point and a much better performance. There is still no reason why, with two more signings we should not be targetting automatic promotion. Next saturdays game will be interesting.

FGR fans say this manager has made their pitch 300 square yard smaller to favour playing through the middle and narrowing the game.
Annoyed them as they view their 2 wide men (Kelly and Norwood) from the bench as their best players, and they certainly changed the game
