We have played the Accies 16 times since 2006, W3, D3, L10, biggest win 5-1, loss 6-1 and a 3-3 draw, we have never beat them away.
Accrington Stanley were founded in 1968, play at the Crown Ground, which has a capacity of 5,450 & their nickname is The 'Owd Reds.
Manager John Coleman is 60 years old and played as a forward for many non-league teams in his career. He has managed 5 teams in 1,212 games with a win rate of over 40%.
According to a survey conducted in August 2019, Stanley supporters consider traditional Lancashire clubs Rochdale, Morecambe and Bury to be their biggest rivals, with near neighbours Blackburn Rovers and Burnley following.
In the 1980s, the club was mentioned in a British advert for milk, which briefly brought the club to the attention of the general public. The advertisement featured two boys in Liverpool replica shirts played by young actors Carl Rice and Kevin Staine. It made reference to Accrington Stanley's obscurity in comparison to Liverpool's success at the time.
Boy 1: "Milk! Urghh!"
Boy 2: "It's what Ian Rush drinks."
Boy 1: "Ian Rush?"
Boy 2: "Yeah. And he said if I didn't drink lots of milk, when I grow up, I'll only be good enough to play for Accrington Stanley."
Boy 1: "Accrington Stanley, who are they?"
Boy 2: "Exactly."
Our last 5 games read - WLLWW, Accrington's read WDDLL.
We should have enough on the pitch on saturday to get our 1st victory at their place to inch a bit closer to the play-offs.

And not to be confused with Accrington FC. en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Accrington_F.C. Top trivia. They were only English Club to spend it's entire history in the top flight of the league structure. (Rather than play in Division 2 they resigned from the league). Always been a tough place to go. Interesting fact for Wael. Accrington Stanley are financially sustainable on an average attendance of just 2,900 (2022-23 season).

Accrington Stanley are financially sustainable on an average attendance of just 2,900 (2022-23 season). I wonder how they manage that these days. It took them 40 years to get back in the league so they're not your average comet club either. Nestling snugly between Blackburn and Burnley they probably get first choice of young run-their-socks-off castoffs from the likes of Everton so could well make a small profit from selling them on. Always been a tough team to meet for us soft southerners, but Barton should know his way around their prickly rose garden.

Always a nice friendly welcome here, cheap beer and a smilemakes it a great away day and pilgrimage up north. Nags Head. Great shout out to that pub open 11am and happy to serve...*hic!!*
Tough match. But JAB has a habit of breaking records.
If we can keep our nerve and Finley on his return can keep his head as I see him a key player, we just have to deal with the perennial winter weather conditions.
Maybe a Gas win? 1-2 to us?
A few up here already early doors. Safe journey everyone. Really looking forward to this . UptheGas!

We know where we stand now in this window 2x centre halves. Still positive for today. 2-3 to gas

Still positive for today. 2-3 to gas Would think the response was from Burnley not liking their young player getting a public rollicking and the perceived threat to his further participation at rovers.allid to the fact the Thomas is known to the management at Barnsley could have helped

Bobby Thomas loan terminated. Only 6 named on the bench. how come we can only name 6 on bench? 3 are strikers 1 keeper and Whelan? What if you pick up a couple of defensive or midfield injury’s, surely having a youth as an option is better than nothing 🤷♂️

Blatant handball in the build up to that goal.
