We have played Bolton Wanderers in 33 games, W10, D10, L13, Our biggest win was 2-0, loss 5-1, our last victory over them was in January 1989.
Bolton were founded in 1874 as Christ Church FC, Their nicknames are The Trotters, The Whites and The Wanderers.
Manager Ian Evatt is 41 and played in nearly 600 games as a central defender mostly for Blackpool, Derby and Chesterfield.
Home games were at Burnden Park for 102 years but now play at the Univercity of Bolton Stadium (formerly the Reebok) and it's capacity is 28,723.
Bolton are currently in 5th place, BRFC are in 15th, we are 7 points away from them.

Yes indeed which way will it go, well if the World Cup is anything to go by, it’s anyones guess, and after Sundays debacle the team owe us a performance.
So it’s a tenner for me as well

Top scrapping from Gas but probably not enough quality in second half to deserve all 3

Stats: Bolton 1 BRFC 1 - 55% - 45% - Shots 19-2 - On Target 5-1 - Corners 11-1 - Fouls 12-17 - Referee: Robert Lewis - Attendance: 16,786 (Away 775)Rovers take a point home from the University of Bolton Stadium. Josh Coburn's rapid strike at the start of the game was not enough for Rovers to take all three points back to BS7 after Dion Charles' late equaliser. Joey Barton has made three changes to the side that started in last Sunday's Emirates FA Cup defeat to Boreham Wood. In comes Sam Finely, Jordan Rossiter and Trevor Clarke who replace Lewis Gordon, Glenn Whelan and Ryan Loft. www.bristolrovers.co.uk/contentassets/469b8052fd834a9a9bcca58a49ed0a01/jmp_bolton_wanderers_v_bristol_rovers_rs_021.jpgRovers started the game in superb fashion. Straight from kick-off, Antony Evans received the ball on the right-hand side. The midfielder took a touch and sent a low cross into the Bolton penalty area where Josh Coburn was lying in wait to bundle the ball home. It was inches away from Rovers being two to the good only moments later. Trevor Clarke arrived at the back post to meet Aaron Collins' cross but Bolton were able to scramble the ball behind for a corner kick. Dapo Afolayan came close for the hosts when his zipping effort from 25 yards out flew over Belshaw's bar and behind. That Afolayan chance turned out to be Bolton's best effort of the half as the two sides exited the pitch for the interval with the Gas one to the good. James Gibbons replaced Trevor Clarke in the 68th minute as Joey Barton looked to freshen things up for the final 22 minutes. www.bristolrovers.co.uk/contentassets/469b8052fd834a9a9bcca58a49ed0a01/jmp_bolton_wanderers_v_bristol_rovers_rs_032-1.jpgJordan Rossiter did well to prevent a Bolten chance with a sliding intervention on a dangerous ball that was whipped in to the Rovers penalty area as the hosts looked to get back in the game. A rare James Connolly error presented Bolton with a golden chance to level the scores. Dion Charles raced through one-on-one with Belshaw and the Rovers 'keeper came out on top, denying the striker with a brilliant stop from close range. The hosts did find the leveller in the final minutes of the game. Dion Charles picked up the ball following a set piece and whipped the ball into the top corner of the net past a helpless Belshaw. There were to be no late dramatics as Rovers would take a point back to BS7. Next up for Rovers is the visit of Port Vale to The Mem next Saturday, 10th December (3pm KO). Bolton: James Trafford, Gethin Jones (c), Jon Dadi Bodvarsson, George Johnston, George Thomason, Conor Bradley, Dapo Afolayan, Aaron Morley, Owen Beck, Eoin Toal, Elias Kachunga. Subs: MJ Williams (35'), Dion Charles, Josh Sheehan, Jack Iredale, Amadou Bakayoko, Kieran Sadlier, Kieran Lee. Rovers: James Belshaw, James Connolly, Sam Finley (c), Scott Sinclair, Aaron Collins, Jordan Rossiter, Lewis Gibson, Trevor Clarke, Antony Evans, Bobby Thomas, Josh Coburn. Subs: Anssi Jaakkola, John Marquis, Harvey Saunders, Glenn Whelan, Luke McCormick, Alfie Kilgour, James Gibbons.

Joey Barton gives honest verdict despite Bristol Rovers coming close to win at Bolton Wanderers..Joey Barton admitted he was "disappointed" with Bristol Rovers performance despite coming close to pulling off a memorable win at Bolton Wanderers on Friday. img-s-msn-com.akamaized.net/tenant/amp/entityid/AA14QCTE.img?w=768&h=511&m=6The Gas led for almost the entire contest at the University of Bolton Stadium, with Josh Coburn giving them a flying start after 70 seconds, but promotion-chasing Bolton had Rovers under intense pressure in the second half and they were rewarded deep into stoppage time when substitute Dion Charles curled into the top corner. Rovers defended their box brilliantly until finally being breached at the last, but as the game wore on they faded as an attacking threat and Barton was unhappy not only with the late leveller but also with his team's play in possession. The point lifts Rovers to 13th in League One with 25 points from 20 games, while Bolton drop to fifth in the table. The Gas can be pleased with the courage they showed in response to last Sunday's FA Cup humbling by non-league Boreham Wood, but Barton believes they can play much better. "I’m gutted," Barton told reporters at full time. "We were a minute or so away from getting the job done. It’s a kick in the proverbials, but credit to Bolton, they had us under loads of pressure in the second half and we found it tough to get out of our half and clear our lines. "While we defended superbly in there, I still think we needed a bit more quality on the transition and if you sit back too deep and they keep putting the ball in your box, eventually they will land with a chance. I’ve watched the goal back and I think there will be a couple of people disappointed with their part in it. "It’s part of our learning. It’s a sucker punch for us, but we came here and we knew in the past couple of games, we were going to play sides who were top eight or top 10 in the division. Coming to this stadium today off the back of the FA Cup defeat, we were probably not as confident as we could be, but we got off to a great start. "I’ll level with you, I don’t think we’ve played particularly well. We’ve had little spells in there, but we’re disappointed with our level of performance. "We’ve defended superbly at times and we were disciplined in that regard, but we can play so much more football. We were nowhere near the level of football team we can be today, and if you don’t operate at your highest performance levels when you come here, you can’t expect to win the game. "I’m disappointed, but another point gained. We’ll learn the lessons and move the club forward." Barton was full of praise for Coburn, who scored his fifth goal of the season by sliding in to convert Antony Evans' brilliant low cross into the six-yard area, but the manager pondered whether his team's early goal affected their mindset. "It’s a fantastic goal and the big man gets in there," he added. "I think Josh was outstanding again today. "It was a really good team goal, it sets us off and gets the disappointment of last weekend out of the way and we’re off to a flyer. "It probably hindered us and it seems mad to say that, but I just felt we were hanging onto that. We just thought one was enough and we challenged the lads at half time to keep probing, but I thought we were well below par in lots of departments in the second half, certainly when it came to the quality on the ball. "We will be, and we must be better."

Watched around half of the match on the wireless with pictures....
They definitely deserved a draw, and as I saw it the niggly stop start gamesmanship was partly caused by Bolton little infringes, and our go down to exaggerate a foul - which it was - but we had no advantage in playing on and riding stupid little challenges. I would understand their frustration, but what else is a ref to do?
So, a scrappy draw ensued.
I think many Gas would have taken a draw before a ball was kicked and taking any points from clubs in top 10 is good for me, but once again we seem to be very good at throwing away points later on because we can't manage the game out from a winning position.
We go again next Saturday v port vale. Comparatively, it won't be easy. A different challenge.
As of now, I'm 'meh' about where we are and JAB....he is where we were when he took over and great credit to get us up and moving forward to where we are (just turning around a losing momentum is hard enough), and the way we play our football which at times is easy on the eye and makes for entertaining matches)...but to counter that, we haven't progressed on and fulfilled potential with some individual players, our league position is bang average, cup record poor and discipline record awful..
In world cup terms atm, we are Mexico!

I am also concerned that we don’t seem able to see out a match or make the right substitutions to do so but i hope this can be redressed in January, i have noticed it’s quiet from the club wrt possible incomings and i see that as a good thing as we seemed to be linked with so many in the preseason. Maybe some lessons have been learned i always try hesgoal for a live stream, always worth a go as hey seem to feature us a fair bit
