Erik ten Hag issues warning to Man Utd stars after gut-wrenching Community Shield defeat..By Jacob Leeks, Senior Sports Reporter.i2-prod.mirror.co.uk/incoming/article33438102.ece/ALTERNATES/s1200d/0_Screenshot-441.jpgErik ten Hag has urged his Manchester United side to carry their hurt from the Community Shield into the upcoming season. United were defeated by fierce rivals Manchester City in the curtain-raiser at Wembley. They had opened the scoring through Alejandro Garnacho's late strike but were pegged back by Bernardo Silva's header soon after. Neither side were able to find a second goal in the closing minutes, sending the game to a shootout. While Silva missed his spot-kick, Jadon Sancho saw his saved by Ederson before Jonny Evans skied his attempt over the bar. That meant City would go on to win, lifting their first Community Shield for three years. But Ten Hag is keen to take the positives from his side's defeat, having pushed the reigning Premier League champions all the way. "Tough result to take. When the performance is right, we are winning, if you lose everyone feels this. It hurts in your stomach. We have to take this and we do have to hurt. You have to feel pain now because that will drive us and give us motivation," Ten Hag told ITV Sport. "What we have to take as a positive out of this is we can compete with City. We have to take this belief in to the league. The second goal is so important. We did very good to produce the second goal in the FA Cup final before half-time and we had the opportunities. "He [Sancho] is a very good penalty taker and today he missed but that is part of the game. We managed to be on an equal level with Man City and got [Marcus] Rashford high on the pitch and good defending. i2-prod.mirror.co.uk/incoming/article33438111.ece/ALTERNATES/s1200e/0_GettyImages-2166203661.jpg"We created chances, we got pressure in the ball and in possession we had some very good chances from this so there are many positives we can take." United certainly had chances to either take the lead before Garancho's goal, or add to it afterwards. The main culprit of missed chances was Marcus Rashford, though Ten Hag backed the attacker as he admitted his squad had some 'problems'. "No, I think he was several times in very good positions, I am very pleased he is getting in those positions. Keep going and keep getting in those positions and he will score goals," the Dutchman added. "When we have some news then we will announce it and until that point we work with the squad that is available. It is clear we have problems and the players have to work to be available and the staff have to work so that the players are available."

Here are some of your comments:
Manchester United fans
Davy: It wasn’t flawless and City weren’t excellent, but there was plenty from Untied to offer some encouragement for the incoming season. Should’ve won it within the 90. Malcolm: On this latest performance it could be the same rubbish this season. Nobody has that will to win, unlike some of our players from previous years. Charles: Could have been 4-1 to United if Rashford and Amad had converted their chances and this game also was also proof that last season's performance against City in the FA Cup final wasn't accidental at all. We should be aiming for top three in the league, defending the FA Cup and, above all, winning the Europa League. Alex: Performance to be proud of. We had gained experience from the FA Cup win. We came with a game plan, dominated the possession and had three or four chances to put the ball in the back of the net. Garnacho then scores an incredible goal but poor defending costs us an equaliser. Let’s hope injuries don’t hamper our season again. i.dailymail.co.uk/1s/2024/08/10/19/88389677-0-image-a-31_1723314059748.jpg

Here are some of your comments:
Marc: I absolutely love it! Love the late 70s' or early 80s' retro look to the kit. No one can do that as good as Adidas!! Bryan: It just looks too simple. I am not a fan of the collar or design either. Disappointed with the lack of effort put into this one. Hopefully we’ll just ditch it overall after Palace away… Terry: In one word...awful! Mike: Light, bright and eye-catching as a third kit. Not sure it 'screams' Manchester United but a nice casualwear top to represent your club. Kieran: I’m okay with the overall look of the third kit, but removing the club badge is a travesty. The ‘Red Devils’ was perfectly fine during the Matt Busby era - but nobody (apart from journalists) uses that expression any more. You would never hear a true fan using the term the Red Devils. Simon: Awesome design… very Stone Roses. i2-prod.mirror.co.uk/incoming/article33455096.ece/ALTERNATES/s1200e/0_Screenshot-2024-08-13-143006.jpg

Man United stars send messages of support to Aaron Wan-Bissaka after he sealed £15m move to West Ham..by Spencer Morgani.dailymail.co.uk/1s/2024/08/14/00/88499601-13739945-image-a-67_1723591917944.jpgManchester United's players have taken to Instagram to wish Aaron Wan-Bissaka well after he sealed a move from Man United to West Ham in a deal worth £15million on Tuesday. The full back has agreed a seven-year deal with the Hammers, becoming their eighth signing this summer. Wan-Bissaka spent five seasons at Old Trafford and it's clear he was a popular member of the squad. The Englishman took to Instagram after the transfer was announced, writing: 'To everyone associated with Manchester United, thank you. 'You’ve helped me fulfill so many dreams of mine & I leave the club with memories to last me a lifetime. 'I’m so grateful for the love, help and support I’ve had from players & staff during the last 5 years and wish you all nothing but the best. Thank you to the fans, you’ve stuck by us throughout the ups and downs. Appreciate you. Thank you so much, Reds.' i.dailymail.co.uk/1s/2024/08/13/19/88490323-13739945-image-a-20_1723572503198.jpg

Manchester United sign De Ligt and Mazraoui from Bayern Munich..i.dailymail.co.uk/1s/2024/08/13/22/88496171-13740483-image-a-33_1723584520649.jpgManchester United have signed Bayern Munich pair Matthijs de Ligt and Noussair Mazraoui in a move that could cost nearly £60m. De Ligt has signed a five-year contract, and Mazraoui a four-year deal, both with the option to extend for a further year. Mazraoui could be immediately called upon by United to deputise at left-back for the injured Luke Shaw - who is expected to return after the first international break - when they host Fulham in the Premier League on Friday (20:00 BST). United have agreed to pay £38.5m plus £4.3m in add-ons for 25-year-old centre-back De Ligt, who was captain of Erik ten Hag's Ajax side that reached the 2019 Champions League semi-finals. Mazraoui also worked with United manager Ten Hag at Ajax, and both players credited his impact on their development. "Erik ten Hag shaped the early stages of my career, so he knows how to get the best out of me and I cannot wait to work with him again," said De Ligt. "I know what it takes to succeed at the highest level, and I’m determined to continue that record at this special club." Mazraoui added: "It is exciting to be reuniting with him [Ten Hag] as I enter the prime years of my career. "I know what he expects from his players, and I will give everything to help the group be successful." Morocco defender Mazraoui, 26, joins for an initial fee of £12.8m, with a further £4.3m in potential add-ons. Mazraoui's arrival was contingent on the exit of defender Aaron Wan-Bissaka, who joined West Ham on Tuesday for £15m. With United having had two bids for Everton's England international Jarrad Branthwaite turned down this summer, De Ligt is an alternative centre-back reinforcement. De Ligt is considered a cheaper option and has more experience, while Everton stuck to their £70m valuation. i.dailymail.co.uk/1s/2024/08/13/22/88496169-13740483-image-m-16_1723584136227.jpgMatthijs de Ligt joined Man United on Tuesday night on a five-year contract

Manchester United 1-0 Fulham: What Erik Ten Hag said:i.dailymail.co.uk/1s/2024/08/15/18/88572441-0-image-a-38_1723744199966.jpgManchester United boss Erik ten Hag, speaking to Sky Sports:
"Subs are always important and it was good to see in the first game that you bring a sub on and he scores the winner. "Everyone sees how important subs are and they have to be ready. "Against Fulham it is always a difficult game, but we defended and pressed very well. After 10 minutes we found our spell in the game and we kept them under pressure. We created a lot of chances and we should have scored earlier. That is the only criticism of the team - kill in the box. "Two season ago [we had] the most clean sheets in the Premier League. When we have a consistent back four we will defend properly. If you don't have a consistent back four the gaps will come. "I know Noussair Mazraoui like this. He is a great defender, but he is very composed on the ball. He is not in full condition. When he gets 100% fitness he can do much more. He has to build his fitness." On Joshua Zirkzee's winner: "Scoring for a striker is important and he should be where he was, but he has more qualities and he has to get the right balance . He has to be arriving in the box to get the finishes, but we also want him to link up. We have some great midfielders around him to make up combinations. "First game, but it is good to strengthen the belief. I have seen many spaces where we have to improve but that is normal." On Harry Maguire being replaced: "Not injured, but I had to bring him off as he had a problem. "The win is so important, but I am so happy to have no injuries today." Manchester United manager Erik ten Hag to BBC Match of the Day: "To start the season with a win is always important. We are not ready as a squad, as a team - many players are not up to full fitness. We only had 10 days with this team training together. "I expect more from this team, but we have a foundation we can build on. "The performance is good. Over 90 minutes of course there is room for improvement- but I think, overall, the performance and execution of the gameplan "We are very ambitious, we want to win more trophies. We want to compete in every league we play in and now we have a platform."

Here are some of your comments:
Man Utd fansDanyal: For the first game of the season, I think we did really well. Defensively we were strong and we had good chances to make it more than 1-0. Positive play and Zirkzee getting his first goal will help him and the team immensely. Gibbo: Good start to the season. Not the greatest of performances - but good enough. I thought Mazraoui at left-back offered skill and calmness on the ball, and Maguire looked happy and decisive. Steve: Solid performance against a good side. Excellent debuts for the new recruits. Garnacho's miss will keep his feet on the ground. Need more from Rashford - again. Mount's best performance since joining. The score could easily have been 4-1. Three points in the first game - job done!

United are working on a season-long loan deal to sign Uruguay international Ugarte, which would include an obligation to buy in 2025. Fulham are preparing to make a third offer for United midfielder Scott McTominay. Napoli sporting director Giovanni Manna has refused to rule out a move for McTominay. Manchester United are not interested in pursuing a deal for Brentford's 28-year-old forward Ivan Toney. Panathinaikos are in talks with Manchester United over a deal for 22-year-old Uruguay midfielder Facundo Pellistri.

Brighton 2-1 Manchester United: Joao Pedro nods home 95th-minute sucker punch in Fabian Hurzeler's first game at the Amex Stadium - as Erik ten Hag's side left to rue bizarre offside incident..by Sami Mokbeli.dailymail.co.uk/1s/2024/08/24/15/88888435-13776075-22_year_old_Amad_Diallo_drew_the_Red_Devils_back_level_in_the_60-a-60_1724511566714.jpgManchester United boss Erik ten Hag has been speaking to BBC Match of the Day following the defeat: "When you should have taken at least a draw, we could have won it as well if that goal from the Joshua Zirkzee incident counts. "It was difficult. In the moment, Zirkzee was on the slide. If he had read the situation better, maybe he could have avoided it, but you can do nothing once you are on the slide. You can't avoid the ball. "It is tough, but we also created many more chances to score a second goal. We showed resilience and fought back. We had our opportunities to score more goals. It is disappointing when you don't win and then you lose." On conceding late in the game: "Two soft goals. We have to be more clinical in both boxes and act better as a team. It is a pity that we are without any points here. We have to get up and go for the next big game which is coming up." On any incoming transfers: "When we have news, we will come out as a club. You have to look for better [players]. We have an opportunity [in this transfer window], but we have to find the right options. So far we are happy with this squad and we go with this squad into the league." On what he makes of their opening two results: "We have good potential, but we have to keep going until the end. The game is finished when the referee whistles three times. That is what we did not do well [in this game], so we have to improve that game management." i.dailymail.co.uk/1s/2024/08/24/15/88888877-0-image-a-48_1724508441446.jpgErik ten Hag admitted 'soft' goals were the major factor behind Manchester United's defeat at Brighton. A decent performance at Amex Stadium yielded zero reward, after Joao Pedro's 95th-minute header gave the home side victory. But Erik ten Hag didn't have to look far to see where it went wrong for United. "Both goals are very soft and, as a team, we should have done better. That is for sure," said the United boss. "For the winner, we didn’t stop the cross. There were three right-footed players and we didn't send the attacker wide. Instead, we allowed the cross. We have to talk about that." United's failure to subdue Simon Adringa in that crucial last phase of the game compounded the frustration felt at Alejandro Garnacho's second half effort being ruled out, because the Argentine's shot struck Joshua Zirkzee - who was offside - as it was about to cross the line. "It is very disappointing," said Ten Hag. "It also happened in the Community Shield when we conceded just before time. "We should be more clinical, read the game and take the point. We were close to winning this game, but definitely we shouldn't lose it."

Here are some of your comments:
Man Utd fans
Terence: It is not about tactics, style or managers. This Manchester United squad do not have anywhere near enough quality to challenge. They are now two games in with a 50% win record. The likes of Manchester City and Arsenal will be giggling to themselves. Manchester United are simply not good enough. Keith: We can't score and can't defend - same old story. I dread the nonsense Erik ten Hag will come out with. It is no good creating chances if you don't take them. Football is simple - score more than the other team and you will win. We need a prolific and proven striker now! Tom: It is so boring seeing the same old issues. We haven't improved from last season at all. The midfield shape fell apart as soon as Mount came off, we looked wide open again. Fernandes coming off when we needed a goal was criminal. Rashford shouldn't be anywhere near this team either. Embarrassing. Charlie: Most of our players aren't even excited to be on the pitch, let alone win! Erik ten Hag continues to prioritize his perception of the players' potentials instead of the reality that many of them are too slow, tactically inept and otherwise uninspired. Our last two managers have sucked the love of the game out of the dressing room. We look lost and despondent... again. i.dailymail.co.uk/1s/2024/08/24/22/88898805-13776075-Pedro_headed_home_from_a_cross_to_maintain_the_Seagulls_perfect_-a-3_1724533572312.jpg

Man Utd agree £42m deal to sign Manuel Ugarte from PSG..by Simon Stone, Chief football news reporteri.dailymail.co.uk/1s/2024/08/27/09/88969365-0-image-a-15_1724747709256.jpgManchester United have agreed a 50m euros (£42.29m) fee with Paris St-Germain for Uruguay midfielder Manuel Ugarte. The deal also includes a potential for 10m euros (£8.46m) in additional payments. It is possible Ugarte could fly to Manchester for a medical later on Tuesday. The move comes at the same time as midfielder Scott McTominay’s proposed 30m euros (£25.37m) switch to Napoli. Ugarte has been linked with United throughout the summer and is now poised to sign for the Old Trafford club, just one year after joining PSG from Sporting Lisbon for a reported 60m euros. The 23-year-old made 37 appearances for Luis Enrique's side, including 25 in the league as PSG won their 12th Ligue 1 title. It is understood PSG have also negotiated a 10% sell-on clause for Ugarte, with both clubs privately claiming they are happy with the deal. The Ugarte deal is contingent on McTominay completing his switch to Napoli, although there is confidence at Old Trafford that transfer will be done. McTominay is due to travel to Italy on Tuesday for a medical. United sources accept the structure of the Premier League’s Profit and Sustainability regulations incentivise selling home-grown players. Manager Erik ten Hag could not guarantee McTominay a regular start and United first accepted offers for the 27-year-old 12 months ago. Despite that the Scotland midfielder, who first attended a United soccer school when he was five, ended up making 32 Premier League appearances and scoring seven goals for United last season. He also started the FA Cup final victory against Manchester City. United sources say they identified Ugarte early in the transfer window and were patient in their negotiations over a player who made the Copa America team of the tournament squad following Uruguay’s run to the final, where they were eventually beaten by Argentina. Should the transfer go through as expected, Ugarte will become United’s fifth signing of the summer and take their overall spending to in excess of £190m. United have spent nearly £600m on new players since Ten Hag was appointed in 2022.

You replied in droves.
Here is a flavour of your responses:Barry: Liverpool were better than us. Time will tell if we're heading in the right direction. Remember Jurgen Klopp and Sir Alex Ferguson won nothing until their fourth seasons, so it takes time. To finish in the top four you don't have to beat Liverpool, but you do need to grind out results when not playing well and this United team seems incapable of doing that. Lawrence: An absolute disgrace. I have been a United supporter for 63 years in good and bad years but this is an absolute disgrace. People say players are to blame but they’re not the ones picking the team. Erik ten Hag is just not good enough. Kieran: What are my thoughts? Sorry BBC but I'm going to need a lot more than 350 characters - can I have another six or seven boxes please? Full-backs too far forward too early; one central midfielder has got no legs; the other has got no real experience yet; wide players scared to take anyone on. Bruno Fernandes' weak mentally; Joshua Zirkzee dropping deep and offering nothing; no patterns of play... James: Simply outclassed. Out-muscled in midfield, chances taken by Liverpool and missed by United. No improvement on last season so far. Just hope there will be some improvement as the season progresses. Casemiro is too slow and Marcus Rashford has lost his enthusiasm. Phill: I can see how the new Liverpool and Brighton managers want to play. In just a few games, their players have bought into them. Behind the manager, the clubs have bought players, at reasonable prices, to achieve an ethos. The United style/plan still eludes me, and by the look of them it eludes the players as well. Install a style, end petulance and be a team. Chris: A familiar story with United needlessly giving the ball away in dangerous areas of the pitch. The same players have been doing this week in and week out, namely Casemiro and Bruno Fernandes. For every 'killer' pass Bruno makes, he must waste five or six opportunities to just 'hit his man' and retain possession! Richard: Can Erik ten Hag come back from this? To be embarrassed by your biggest rivals once is unfortunate, twice is careless.

Casemiro will only consider offers to leave Manchester United if he is told he does not have a future at Old Trafford. However, the midfielder could be set to leave the club within days. Meanwhile, United have appointed Sam Erith as performance director until the end of the season. On deadline day, La Liga side Real Betis made an offer for 32-year-old United and Denmark midfielder Christian Eriksen on transfer deadline day. United are closely monitoring Juventus' 23-year-old Colombian left-back Juan Cabal. United forward Anthony Martial has been offered a contract by AEK Athens, which would make him the club's highest earner. The 28-year-old became a free agent when his Old Trafford contract expired in June.

Here are some of your comments:Lexy: United players showed no respect to their opponents and treated the game like a training ground occasion! They gave the ball away far too many times trying the difficult pass, particularly in dangerous areas. Slow build-up play and they need a number nine urgently! Jim: United are not at the races at the moment. Probably time is needed to let new players settle in. Christian Eriksen is a decent player but will not take them back to where they need to be and the crucial problem at the moment is the same as last season - they can't score goals from decent build-up. The main culprit is Bruno Fernandes. He has skill but is wasteful - and Erik ten Hag plays him! Peter: In patches, we looked better but overall we were lacking ideas and finishing power again. I think the creative play is missing and unfortunately this is where the manager must take responsibility. I'm not convinced that he's got what we need. I'd give him up until the end of this year to get some positive results. After all he's had the money . Alastair: At least Noussair Mazraoui must now be worth twice what we paid Bayern Munich. Joe: In the 88th minute of tonight's game, I had a sudden dawning realisation, and it was this. I didn't care if we won. I had no excitement about whether we would score a winning goal. And in the 47 years that I've watched my club I never felt like that. The past three years has done this to me. Mark: Not good enough. We can’t finish off any chances and overall not enough passion or hunger to go finish off the game. However, still loads more games to go but if we are going to do anything well this season, we need to start scoring goals.

Former United boss Ole Gunnar Solskjaer would "say yes every day of the week" if asked to return to Old Trafford as manager. Manchester United want to free up space in midfield and could let Denmark's Christian Eriksen and Brazil's Casemiro, both 32, leave in January. United also remain interested in Everton's Jarrad Branthwaite and will make another attempt to sign the 22-year-old England-capped defender in 2025.

Match report by Phil McNulty, Chief football writer at Old TraffordTottenham produced a magnificent display to outclass 10-man Manchester United at Old Trafford and pile renewed pressure on manager Erik ten Hag. Spurs, even without injured Son Heung-min, tore Manchester United apart as they set the platform for victory with a first-half masterclass, the only mystery being how they only had Brennan Johnson's third-minute goal to show for their overwhelming dominance. Johnson's simple finish was created by Micky van de Ven's barnstorming run from his own half, and Spurs went on to create chance after chance without adding to their advantage - Timo Werner being the biggest culprit when he allowed United keeper Andre Onana to save when clean through. United's cause was not helped when captain Bruno Fernandes was sent off three minutes before the break for a lunge at James Maddison – but Ten Hag's side were an overrun, indisciplined rabble well before they had a numerical disadvantage. Spurs finally extended their lead two minutes after the interval when Dejan Kulusevski lifted a deft finish over Onana after a fine break by Johnson. The hard-working Dominic Solanke got the goal his industry deserved and gave the scoreline a more realistic appearance 12 minutes from time, turning in Pape Matar Sarr's headed flick at a corner to spark a mass exodus from Old Trafford by United's supporters. i.dailymail.co.uk/1s/2024/09/29/17/90241935-13904605-image-a-35_1727628427099.jpg

Totally unneccessary. To concede a goal like this, the [opposing] centre-half stepping in and passing the whole team over the right side and then the winger tapping in at the far post. Same mistake as in the midweek against Twente, it should be stopped in the first moment. "From that moment on we were stressed on the ball. We could not find the triangles or the switches, we had some good moments, but from that moment we could not get a foothold. And we can do better than that. Even after such a mistake from us we should stay calm. "We had chances and our moments to get back in the game, with Joshua Zirkzee and Alejandro Garnacho when we still had 11 players and then after the red card too we had moments. "We had our chances before half-time and in the second half with 10 men we had chances as well. It definitely had an impact on the game. I don't think it was a red card." "First we have to deal with this and show resilience. This is not good enough. We have to accept this and get better. Focus on the next game and do things better than we did today." Manchester United manager Erik ten Hag on Sky Sports: “It is a bad start of the game, Tottenham were dominant, we made many mistakes in possession that we should not make. We couldn’t pass out of the press and made wrong decisions. We had chances to come back and then the red card changed the game. "“I don’t think it was a red card. It was only 1-0, we could have made a comeback and it had a big impact on the game. “Our first-half was no good, it is not possible that a player can dribble through our whole team and set up a goal. You have to stop that. I made clear before the game how we have to defend it. We lost confidence, we can do better and all of the players know this. “We were indisciplined. We were too stressed on the ball. "It is always a new day. I told the players we have to learn, do things better and be better on the ball. There were situations when we coild have kept the ball and found the spare man. “I don’t want to talk about progress after such a defeat. We have to deal with this.”

Sunday 27th October 2024 - Premier League - Venue: London Stadium
West Ham United 2 (Summerville 74, Bowen 90+2 pen) Manchester United 1 (Casemiro 81)
i.dailymail.co.uk/1s/2024/10/27/15/91341115-0-image-a-62_1730044238304.jpg Casemiro looked to have secured United a point after nodding home from close rangeJarrod Bowen scored an injury-time penalty to condemn Manchester United to a 2-1 defeat in the Premier League, easing pressure on West Ham manager Julen Lopetegui but piling it high once again on Erik ten Hag. Casemiro thought he had grabbed a point for the visitors when he headed home with less than 10 minutes left to cancel out Crysencio Summerville's 74th-minute opener. But United were furious as referee David Coote was sent to the pitchside monitor by the video assistant referee to review Matthijs de Ligt's challenge on Danny Ings in the box. Despite protests from United's players over a handball by Ings, Coote pointed to the spot and Bowen calmly converted, slotting past Andre Onana. The Premier League later explained on its Match Centre account on X that there was "sufficient contact" to award the penalty. "The referee did not award a penalty to West Ham for a challenge by de Ligt on Ings," it said., external "The VAR deemed there was sufficient contact on Ings' lower leg and recommended an on-field review. The referee overturned his original decision and awarded a penalty." United dominated possession and chances in the first half at London Stadium, but the visitors lacked a clinical edge and were left to rue their missed chances. After a lacklustre first half, West Ham were an improved side after the interval and peppered United's box with attacks, and they were eventually rewarded when Summerville slid in to direct Ings' scuffed effort into the back of the net. The result leaves United 14th in the Premier League with just three wins in their opening nine matches. It is a statement win for West Ham, however, as they move one place above United after an underwhelming start to the season. i.dailymail.co.uk/1s/2024/10/28/10/91365003-14010313-image-a-4_1730112130358.jpg Manchester United boss Erik ten Hag has been speaking to BBC Match of the Day following the defeat at London Stadium: "Three times this season we feel injustice. We have to score, we created so many chances, we should have been two or three goals up. "In the second-half, we were forcing it but we allowed them into the game. When you are losing 1-0, you need big personality and character in the team and we showed resilience to get back into it. "It is unfair and unjust the way we conceded the penalty." On the penalty decision: "It was so difficult to see. Before the season, there was the instruction about VAR only interfering in clear and obvious mistakes. That is definitely not a clear and obvious mistake from the on-field referee. "More frustrations, but I can do nothing with that. They don't collect points and that is what we have to do. We have to look in the mirror. When you lose in this way it is a bad feeling." On whether he has spoken to the officials yet: "I spoke with them but the decision is made. There is no way back and that is football. "That is the third time I've felt injustice this season. It has a big impact on our team, on our scores and where we are in the table. It is not right."

ichef.bbci.co.uk/news/800/cpsprodpb/2f7f/live/95709000-0915-11ef-bee9-6125e244a4cd.jpgWe asked for your thoughts after Sunday's Premier League game between West Ham and Manchester United.
Here are some of your comments:
Man Utd fansSteve: Another poor performance where we simply cannot get the ball in the net! The team selection was baffling. We spent £50m on a replacement for Casemiro and then we bench him, after a great midweek performance, in favour of Casemiro! Mazraoui at left-back and Dalot to right-back, why swap them? Top four is another planet for us under Erik ten Hag. It keeps getting worse. Josh: Quite clearly not a penalty, but we are all used to VAR being utterly pointless now. However, United cannot use the official's error to mask their incompetence in front of goal. Ten Hag can't put the ball in the net for the players so they have to take the blame for their ineptitude, but he will probably lose his job because of it. Charlie: United should have been out of sight by half-time. We have two centre forwards who are supposed to be goalscorers but, to be honest, it was money wasted. We are so slow playing out of defence - we pass, pass, pass across the pitch. It is the same old routine every game and it so easy for other teams to read. The tactics are all wrong, all because of the manager. Rob: This is the third time I have called for Erik ten Hag to be sacked. What are the hierarchy waiting for? We are now three places off the relegation zone. If they don't put this wrong right now, be it on their heads! I have supported Manchester United for 50-plus years and this is the most frustrated I have ever been. The players need trimming and shaking up too. i.dailymail.co.uk/1s/2024/10/28/10/91365261-14010313-image-a-10_1730112385941.jpg
