The incident happened when Rashford had left United's Carrington training ground in his white Rolls Royce. Pictures emerged online showing the aftermath of the incident. Rashford played the full 90 minutes of United's win at Turf Moor - the club's first win in four matches.

Sancho has deleted the post but there has still been no resolution to the problem, with the England international training away from the first team at present. Unless the situation changes, it seems inevitable Sancho will be sold in January, with United facing up to a heavy loss on the £73m they paid Borussia Dortmund for him two years ago.

Leighton: We played well. A really professional performance from the lads. We were good defensively and in the midfield we were a lot better than we have been. It was good to see Amrabat make his debut and Varane make his return because they are much needed at this moment in time. Also what a finish from Bruno! Mahir: We started as badly as we've been playing for the past few weeks, conceding sloppy defensive errors. A magnificent Evans ball to our Portuguese magician Bruno and belief was restored, leading to much better passages of play. The last 30 minutes were much more stable, though we lacked creativity and pizzazz up front. Mark: It's an ugly win, sometimes you have to take those. Substitutes weren't the best but we didn't have loads of choice. Hannibal was a brave choice and he did well. Onana proved he can make saves and be good with his feet, but anyone could have told you this. David: On the performance tonight, United would have lost to most teams. At no time did they control the game and they relied on breakaways. Gone are the days when Scholes, Keane and Carrick used to control games from the midfield. Rashford’s form is also worrying.

The 25-year-old Argentina international missed the end of last season after fracturing a metatarsal in April. He returned to action at the start of this season but United say he will be sidelined again because of "an aggravation" to the injury. The club said Martinez "experienced the setback in our Premier League game against Arsenal earlier this month". They added: "It has now been determined that he needs a period on the sidelines for recovery and rehabilitation. "Assessment is ongoing to determine next steps." Man Utd fansAlex: Oh dear. New manager (well not so new now), new signings, now the honeymoon period is well and truly over its back to same old United. Seemingly unrepairable. Steve: I was at the game and for the first time I’m questioning the tactics and system. We were so repetitive and unimaginative in possession and seem incapable of playing through the opposition midfield… pedestrian passing from the two centre-backs, all going wide, nothing through the middle. Why on earth we don’t play early balls from wide into Rasmus? Nathana: Forget all our injuries, that's just an excuse. I never go into a game thinking we are getting three points today anymore. Slow, pedestrian football with no identity and a team that is lacking the ability to score goals. With results and performances like this I only see a countdown clock for Ten Hag. Sacking managers isn't great but it's a results game. Agim: Not a bad performance especially on the second half, however it's time for ETH to bench Rashford and bring on Garnacho. Also Pellistri should have not started today, Mjebri should have started. The boy's aggressive too and was going to be so good for this game, so I partially blame the manager today. Palace fansAndy: An impressive display built on a well-organised defence by Crystal Palace. An excellent finish by Andersen was well deserved for his performance. Sam Johnstone was excellent again and even though Palace had only 22% possession they still created chances. It has been a good start in the league and a top-10 finish is realistic for Palace. Gerry: Today was a masterclass on tactics from Roy and his team. After Tuesday night's loss, I was not looking forward to the trip back up to Manchester. Although we did not dominate the game, we were determined, stuck to the game and played well as a team. The atmosphere in the away end could only be described as ‘buzzing’. A day to remember! John: Good performance by Palace after the midweek setback. We are short of some players through injury so this is a very important win. Well done. Elohesra: Proof Roy still has it ! Magnificent counter-attacking display by Palace.
