was it all the first week back testing they do that picked up on it? So hoping they got it early? wishing you long life and happiness Nick. 🙏🏻 Nick mentioned to the club Dr that he'd been getting some pain in his leg, Dr decided to do a scan to see what was going on - then poor Nick's life turned upside down in an instant. Devastating for him and his young family. And that’s the issue with this type of cancer it’s pretty much unknown I certainly hadn’t heard of it. I’d imagine he’s been playing with this for a while thinking it’s just an injury. Thank goodness the medics got the scan done. If there is one thing of benefit here apart from Nick’s well-being lots more people will have become aware of it and who it effects mainly young people where any kind of lump or soreness must be taken seriously and fully investigated.

"I’ve also got that shirt Thierry had on. I swapped with him after the game. It’s not been washed. Still has all the mud marks on which matches to this video. I was thinking of raffling it to help @nickanderton_ and his family. How much do you think we’d raise?"
Today, the Rovers' manager posted this on Twitter, in reply to a Premier League video of a Thierry Henry goal against Man City. Something to get behind, don't you think?

Or maybe a raffle as syg suggested.

And as it happens, Keir Starmer and Jeremy Corbyn... some even say Mrs. Windsor.

Mrs Windsor is possibly a Gooner ay!🙂 I would of thought maybe Queen of the South, but then again 'only south is not enough for one'. Damian McBride from the Gordon Brown era (upset alot of people with his book) is a Gooner too.

I wouldn't imagine JB would want it going to Mrs Windsor or any of the Royal Family unless Ricky Tomlinson put in a bid.

Arsenal will also have some very wealthy fans from the business world, who wouldn't bat an eyelid at paying a high figure for something like this, especially if JB could get Henry to sign it.

I surely hope so. Reading up on this type of cancer makes for some harrowing reading. We all need to show our support. One thing i learned is having good people around you, whilst being treated, is vital. Fingers crossed

You must surely remember the bottles that had the golden wrapping on it, too ? I remember, as a 16 yr old who had a motorbike accident, being given the small 1/3 on a pint cans of Makison ( sp) stout, up to 3 times a day. Things have certainly changed but then, the stuff was, IIRC, called milk stout ? The alcohol content was something like 1.8 to 2%. I have been reading up on the various new treatments that are available now and it gives me some hope that the wizards caught it in good time and that he will have a good chance of recovery and possibly sans chemo. Anyway, lucozade eh, that and germolene, the cure alls for everything, back in the day.

We used to make our own "sunglasses" using the golden Lucozade wrapping the cardboard from a Cornflakes box! When I was a child, if Mum bought Lucozade you knew that you were really ill. When I was in hospital with heart failure, I was drinking Lucozade, and the nurse told me that I would end up a diabetic if I drank too much!

The latest news is that the disease is worse than expected and he will have to have chemotherapy now and as has been written, this is about saving of life now. I was devastated to read this and my thoughts are with him and his team in oncology. Absolutely awful news
