Group D: Italy 1 Iceland 1Italy and Iceland were forced to settle for a point each as their hopes of advancing to the quarter-finals of Euro 2022 were left on a knife-edge. Karolina Lea Vilhjalmsdottir's strike gave Iceland the lead in the Group D encounter at Manchester City's Academy Stadium. But for the second successive game, Iceland were unable to hold on to their lead as Valentina Bergamaschi equalised after half-time to earn Italy their first point of the tournament. It could have been worse for Iceland as Italy finished strongly, Barbara Bonansea hitting a low shot that Sandra Sigurdardottir tipped on to the inside of the post. Iceland have two points from two games and face group favourites France in their third and final group game on Monday in Rotherham (20:00 BST). Despite her side coming from behind to seal a point, Italy's boss was not impressed with the result. "This is a European Championship of suffering for us," said Milena Bertolini. Group D: France 2 Belgium 1France breezed into the Euro 2022 quarter-finals with a game to spare by beating Belgium at Rotherham's New York Stadium to progress as Group D winners. Corinne Diacre's side followed up their 5-1 thrashing of Italy with another impressive attacking display that should have seen them win by a bigger margin. Kadidiatou Diani - one of France's standout players so far - opened the scoring in the sixth minute when she headed in Sakina Karchaoui's cross. All five of France's goals against Italy came in the first half and it looked like a repeat was on the cards as they continued to put pressure on the Belgium defence. Delphine Cascarino hit a shot from range just wide before an effort from Diani was pushed on to the post by goalkeeper Nicky Evrard. Not even the loss of Marie-Antoinette Katoto to injury could halt the French attacks, although her early departure will be a cause for concern as they look to win a major tournament for the first time. Belgium stunned their opponents as they equalised out of nowhere nine minutes before half-time when the ball was squeezed through to Janice Cayman, who prodded home from inside the area. But France restored their lead five minutes later when Griedge Mbock Bathy sent a bullet of a header into the back of the net from Clara Mateo's cross. Despite their dominance, France were unable to add further goals after the break, even when they were awarded a late penalty when Amber Tysiak was adjudged to have handled the ball after a VAR review. Tysiak was shown a second yellow card but Wendy Renard's spot kick was saved. Ultimately, another goal was not needed and securing top spot means France will play the runner-up in Group C. The Netherlands currently top that group, with Sweden in second place. Dumbarse penalty imo. She( Belgian) had her back to the french attacker as she ( french() shot and the ball hit her hand/arm as her body motion went around to avoid her from actually handballing!! Justice served with the penalty bring saved....VAR!!! Agree, i was shouting at the tv, never a penalty and then when it was saved how Renard missed the rebound was amazing.

England 5 Northern Ireland 0
England wrapped up an impressive group stage at Euro 2022 as they comfortably beat Northern Ireland having already qualified for the quarter-finals.
The Lionesses, who finish top of Group A, will go into the last eight having not conceded a single goal and with three wins from three games.
Tournament top scorer Beth Mead extended her tally to five goals, while substitute Alessia Russo scored two goals in five minutes after the break.
Northern Ireland, who were competing in their first women's major tournament, finish bottom of the group without a win.
It was not a home nations derby with much on the line but England were heavy favourites and were expected to demonstrate why in Southampton.
With manager Sarina Wiegman absent after testing positive for Covid on Friday, England were frustrated in the early stages at St Mary's Stadium but soon imposed their quality.
Chelsea's Fran Kirby produced a piece of magic to break the deadlock when she expertly curled the ball into the top corner, before Mead precisely drilled in a low strike to make it 2-0 before half-time.
Russo came off the bench to score for the second consecutive game, nodding in Mead's chipped cross, before spinning away and slotting in a second goal in five minutes.
An own goal from Northern Ireland's Kelsie Burrows, who flicked Mead's cross over goalkeeper Jackie Burns, completed the rout.
Northern Ireland struggled to compete after the break but had shown glimpses of threat in the first half - Lauren Wade tested goalkeeper Mary Earps from close range, while Rebecca Holloway played some teasing through balls.
Kenny Shiels' side leave the tournament with plenty of lessons to learn, but their fans were in celebratory mood as they chanted, banged drums and stood for almost the entirety of their final game at Euro 2022.
For England, a quarter-final against Spain or Denmark awaits next Wednesday, and they strengthened their status as a team few will want to face en route to the final.
Austria 1 Norway 0
Two-time winners Norway failed to reach the European Championship knockout stage for the second straight tournament after defeat by Austria, who booked their place in the quarter-finals as Group A runners-up.
Martin Sjogren's team - thumped 8-0 by England on Monday - knew only victory would be enough to secure second place in the group behind the Lionesses.
However, Austria dominated the first half and took a deserved lead when Nicole Billa headed Verena Hanshaw's delivery into the far corner.
Barbara Dunst and Billa shot straight at Norway goalkeeper Guro Pettersen midway through the second half as Austria continued to create the better openings.
Celin Ildhusoy struck the crossbar and Ada Hegerberg was denied by Austria goalkeeper Manuela Zinsberger in the closing stages, but it was too little, too late from Norway.
"We had higher belief in ourselves than to be out of the tournament this soon," Sjogren said. "I feel totally empty."
Austria, semi-finalists in 2017, will face Group B winners Germany in the last eight.

Group B: Finland vs Germany - 8pm - Milton Keynes
Euro 2022 quarter-finalists Germany will look to end their Group B campaign on a high when they face Finland on Saturday.
The eight-time tournament winners booked their place in the last eight with victories over Denmark and Spain.
Finland can no longer qualify from the group after losing both their games so far, but Germany are taking nothing for granted at Stadium MK.
Group B: Denmark vs Spain - 8pm - Brentford
Spain will set up a Euro 2022 quarter-final against England if they avoid defeat by Denmark on Saturday.
The Danes, currently third in Group B, must beat the pre-tournament favourites to book a meeting with the Lionesses in the last eight.
The teams go into the game level on three points, but Spain sit above Denmark because of their superior goal difference.
"Tomorrow is a final we want to win," said Spain coach Jorge Vilda.
Denmark coach Lars Sondergaard, meanwhile, described Saturday's crucial game as the "most important" of his time as national head coach.

Group B: Finland 0 Germany 3
Eight-time European champions Germany ended their Euro 2022 Group B campaign in style with a dominant win over Finland at Stadium MK in Milton Keynes.
Germany had already won the group with a game to spare and produced another impressive performance against already eliminated Finland.
The only surprise was that it took 40 minutes for Germany to make the breakthrough, Sophia Kleinherne heading in from six yards after the overlapping Giulia Gwinn, released by Svenja Huth, had stood up a cross from the byeline.
Alexandra Popp doubled her side's lead within a few minutes of the restart, scoring for the third game in a row after an assist from half-time substitute Kathrin-Julia Hendrich.
Another substitute, Nicole Anyomi made it 3-0 with a low strike.
Germany will play Group A runners-up Austria on Thursday in the quarter-final at the Brentford Community Stadium and will return to Milton Keynes for the second semi-final on 27 July if victorious.
Group B: Denmark 0 Spain 1
Spain boss Jorge Vilda believes facing England will be "the toughest game in the Euros" after their late victory over Denmark set up a quarter-final against the Lionesses in the European Women's Championship.
Marta Cardona headed in the 90th-minute winner to confirm Spain's last-eight spot - though they only needed a draw in Brentford.
Vilda's side, one of the pre-tournament favourites, finished second in Group B with two wins from their opening three games.
They dominated possession against a stubborn Denmark side, who needed victory to go through.
Spain will now face England on Wednesday, 20 July in Brighton for a place in the semi-finals.

Group C: Switzerland vs Netherlands - 5pm - Sheffield
Manchester United midfielder Jackie Groenen and Chelsea defender Aniek Nouwen are both in contention to play for the Netherlands in their final group game against Switzerland.
Both players took part in training after Groenen recovered from illness and Nouwen shook off an ankle knock.
The Dutch top their group after beating Portugal and drawing with Sweden and will go through with a draw.
Switzerland are bottom but can still potentially progress if they win.
They were beaten 2-1 by the Swedes, ranked second in the world, in their last match.
"We have shown that we are able to keep pace with a world class team," said Switzerland captain Lia Walti.
The Swiss would need to win on Sunday in Sheffield (kick-off 17:00 BST) and for Sweden to at least draw against Portugal in Group C's other game.
Group C: Sweden vs Portugal - 5pm - Wigan & Leigh
Highly fancied Sweden will book their place in the Euro 2022 quarter-finals with a draw against Portugal on Sunday in Leigh.
Peter Gerhardsson's team are second in Group C and Portugal third, three points behind.
Sweden midfielder Kosovare Asllani said she was "very angry" after they needed a late goal to seal a 2-1 victory over Switzerland on Wednesday.
"We have a lot more in us. We have to do better," she said.
Late replacements for Russia, Portugal could progress if they win and group leaders the Netherlands avoid defeat against Switzerland at Bramall Lane.
Portugal forward Diana Silva said: "Playing like we are, qualifying is still possible."

Group C: Switzerland 1 Netherlands 4
The Netherlands set up an enticing Euros 2022 quarter-final with France as the defending champions beat Switzerland at Bramall Lane to finish second in Group C.
The Dutch only needed to avoid defeat to go through while the Swiss had to win, a task that was made even more difficult in sweltering conditions when Stefanie van der Gragt's header went in off Ana-Maria Crnogorcevic four minutes into the second half.
However Switzerland delivered an almost immediate response as Geraldine Reuteler coolly finished from Romana Bachmann's pull-back just three minutes later.
They almost completed an incredible turnaround soon after when Coumba Sow's close-range shot was superbly denied by Daphne van Domselaar, who then pushed the follow-up shot onto the post.
That got the 22,596 fans in attendance - a new record crowd for a European Championship group game not featuring the tournament hosts - excited for a grandstand finish, with both sides coming alive after a fairly sluggish first half.
Gaelle Thalmann made a superb double save late on when she denied Romee Leuchter and Danielle van de Donk's follow up, although the flag subsequently went up for offside, while Riola Xhemaili saw her shot tipped over the bar for the Swiss.
But the Netherlands snatched the lead when substitute Leuchter nodded in her first international goal with seven minutes remaining.
The Dutch put the icing on the cake with two further goals late on as Switzerland's players tired.
Victoria Pelova fired in, prompting a lengthy VAR check for a potential offside, before Leuchter slid in a fourth in added time.
The Netherlands will play France for a place in the semi-finals at Rotherham's New York Stadium on Saturday, 23 July (20:00 BST).
Group C: Sweden 5 Portugal 0
Ruthless Sweden marched into the quarter-finals of Euro 2022 after scoring three times in the first half to end Portugal's interest in the tournament.
The team ranked second in the world proved too strong for their opponents and will return to Leigh Sports Village next Friday to face Iceland, Belgium or Italy.
Manchester City's Filippa Angeldal fired her side into the lead after a weak clearance by Portugal keeper Patricia Morais, who was making her first appearance at the tournament.
Angeldal doubled the lead with a first-time shot following another set-piece, and it was 3-0 deep into first-half stoppage time when Carole Costa headed into her own net from a corner.
Kosovare Asllani made it 4-0 from the penalty spot before Stina Blackstenius, who had two goals ruled out earlier, added the fifth as Sweden produced a statement win going into the knockout stage.
It was one game too far for Portugal, who lost to Russia in the play-offs only to secure a place in the tournament after Russia were expelled following the country's invasion of Ukraine.
But while the second-lowest ranked team at Euro 2022 exit with one point from three games, Sweden march on after their biggest win in England this summer.

Euro 2022: Behind the scenes in England's camp.
Card games, a DJ, basketball hoop competitions, Love Island watchalongs, 'around the world' darts and a bit of ABBA - it is not always about football in England's Euro 2022 camp.
Sarina Wiegman's side are in the quarter-finals after winning their group with a game to spare - but they have plenty to occupy themselves when they switch off from football.
England have a base camp at the Lensbury Resort in Teddington, south-west London, where they eat, sleep, train and relax.
They have meeting rooms, recovery centres, training pitches, a games room, a Big Brother-style 'Diary Room' and media areas which are all available to use in between matches.
"After training we recover, have lunch, then enjoy each other's company. We play cards, sit in the sun and get a coffee. The set-up here is great," Manchester United forward Alessia Russo told BBC Radio 5 Live.
"There's a group of us who play cards. It's a nice way to switch off and we play a game called Trump, which gets really competitive. Tooney [Ella Toone] won the last game we played..."
Toone might have the crown in cards, but Manchester City winger Lauren Hemp is queen of the darts board.
"I've been practising darts because 'Hempo' flies away with the win every time!" said team-mate Chloe Kelly.
"We've been playing 'around the world' and she'll be finished while I'm still on 12. I have some work to do..."
The games room has been very competitive. Before press conferences, players are taking on members of the media in a basketball hoop challenge.
Ellen White was up first and gave her team a very strong lead. Afterwards, Fran Kirby told the media that White had been practising and was the team's strongest player.
Toone came along next time to give Kelly support - shouting instructions and words of encouragement as she drew with the media.
Away from competition though, the players have been sent messages of support from friends and family, with midfielder Jill Scott's mum posting a poem on social media.
Staff are also encouraging players to use a space they refer to as the 'Diary Room', where they can offload on anything they want to talk about.
Chelsea defender Jess Carter is among those to use it, while Aston Villa goalkeeper Hannah Hampton has enjoyed taking walks in the local area - although the squad must remain wary of Covid.
"That's something they've been really open about. They don't want us stuck inside because we are away for a maximum of 10 weeks," said Hampton.
"It's been nice, we've been having little walks around to coffee shops, which has been really refreshing."
Kelly added: "You see people in the street and they're sending their support across the road. It's lovely, really touching and it's nice to see England fans."
The team also love to party.
Captain Leah Williamson is the resident DJ, playing songs on the coach journey back from games, while defender Rachel Daly "gave a performance" in the changing room after the 8-0 win against Norway.
"It was that good I can't remember what the song was! She [Daly] went all out," said Russo.
"We had the speaker on the whole way home and Leah was playing some good songs. My request was 'Listen' by Beyonce.
"She has some really good throwback songs and we love a singalong. She'll throw one on and everyone is like 'ah, we haven't heard this in years!'"
The celebrations after England's victory over Norway were clearly enjoyable but midfielder Georgia Stanway missed the coach home with the players and had to make the journey with staff.
However, she was able to enjoy a bit of ABBA in the dressing room beforehand - something that has become a regular feature in post-match celebrations.
"I think that's Tooney! She always has ABBA on request. I think she knows all of the words," said Kelly.
The players naturally also crave time for relaxation and there is a large group who get together most nights to catch up on TV show 'Love Island'.
They also watch other games at Euro 2022 - though Kelly admitted she likes an early night.
"I'll watch the first-half but I am always knackered! Get me to bed and get me some sleep," she added.
And has Stanway been able to keep up her hobby of fishing in London?
"She's probably got a tent somewhere..." said Kelly.

Group D: Iceland vs France - 8pm - Rotherham
Iceland are at full strength for their crucial Group D finale with already-qualified France in Rotherham.
The Nordic side need to win to be sure of a quarter-final against Sweden, but a draw could be enough depending on the result of Italy's game with Belgium.
France have already sealed top spot and will face the Netherlands in Rotherham next Saturday.
But they will be without star striker Marie-Antoinette Katoto, whose tournament is over because of a knee injury.
The temperature could be about 34C at kick-off at New York Stadium.
Group D: Italy vs Belgium - 8pm - Manchester
Italy's crucial European Championship clash against Belgium is "not the most important night of our career", says Azzurre coach Milena Bertolini.
Italy are bottom of Group D and must beat Belgium and hope Iceland fail to beat France to reach the last eight.
At the World Cup in 2019 they reached the quarter-finals, where they were beaten by the Netherlands.
"We had some big nights at the World Cup. But it's an important night, a decisive game," said Bertolini.
She added: "It's not the most important night of our careers. It's much harder to confirm oneself at a certain level.
"We did well at the World Cup in 2019, so now the expectations are much higher."
Belgium will advance to the knockout stages if they win and Iceland lose to France, but will miss out if they draw 0-0.
Belgium defender Laura de Neve said: "The will to win will make the difference tomorrow, not the tactical aspect or our physical ability.
"We are hungry for the win. It is a big game for Belgian women's football as well. We can make history if we qualify."

Group D: Iceland 1 France 1
Iceland saw their Euro 2022 tournament come to an end, despite snatching a dramatic draw against already-qualified France as Belgium won in the other group game to claim second place in Group D.
Dagny Brynjarsdottir converted a penalty in the 12th minute of stoppage time after a spot kick was awarded by the Video Assistant Referee (VAR) following a tangle inside the area.
But Belgium's 1-0 win against Italy meant it counted for nothing as Iceland finished a point behind them in third place.
A much-changed France side, who had won their previous two group games to wrap up top spot, made the perfect start in this game as they took the lead after just 46 seconds when Melvine Malard struck, stroking home from Clara Mateo's pass.
Group D: Italy 0 Belgium 1
Belgium reached the quarter-finals of the European Women's Championship for the first time after overcoming Italy in a tense Group D finale at the Academy Stadium.
Tine de Caigny's low finish from the edge of the box secured runners-up spot to set up a last-eight tie with Sweden on Friday.
Italy hit the bar through Cristiana Girelli soon after De Caigny's goal but they exit Euro 2022 after a second defeat in three games in England.
Belgium, ranked 19 in the world, are appearing at only their second European Championship but can now prepare to face Sweden, who are ranked second in the world, at Leigh Sports Village.

Euro 2022: Norway coach Martin Sjogren steps down after tournament exit.
Norway women's head coach Martin Sjogren and assistant Anders Jacobson have resigned after their team failed to make the Euro 2022 knockout stages.
The two-time winners went out at the group stage for the second European Women's Championship in a row.
Sjogren had been in charge of the women's national team for more than five years.
An agreement was in place to evaluate progress after the tournament and the two coaches have been paid up to the end of their contract in August 2023.
"The expectations before this championship were clear and we had high ambitions to go far," Sjogren said in a statement.
"When the results did not match the expectations, the natural solution is that we now go our separate ways."
The Norwegian Football Federation hopes to appoint a new coach before September's 2023 World Cup qualifiers against Belgium and Albania.

QF 1 - England v Spain - Wednesday 20th July - 8pm
England manager Sarina Wiegman will return for Wednesday's Euro 2022 quarter-final against Spain after recovering from a bout of Covid.
England are preparing for their biggest test of the European Women's Championship when they take on one of the pre-tournament favourites Spain in Wednesday's quarter-final.
Just one place separates the teams in world rankings and expectations for both nations are high.
Spain have a squad packed full of Champions League winners, while England are on a roll and have home advantage in Brighton.
Spain have never reached the final of a major tournament, with their best performance coming in 1997 when they reached the last four.
Meanwhile, England striker Ellen White has another opportunity to equal Wayne Rooney's all-time England goalscoring record after failing to score in the last match.
White, the joint-top scorer at the 2019 World Cup, has taken her overall tally to 52 - one behind Rooney.
However, it is team-mate Beth Mead who leads the Golden Boot race at this tournament with an impressive five goals and two assists in her first three games.

Half time in extra time, England 2 Spain 1, though Spain as expected possession is king, overall the better team technically but an outstanding goal from Stanway gives England the edge.........England win, proving that it's goals that win games and not a team that moves the ball about 600 times to the oppositions 250 odd, typical English grit and determination got these girls through

England are through to the semi-finals of the European Women's Championship after coming from behind in dramatic fashion to beat pre-tournament favourites Spain in extra time.
Georgia Stanway sent the Amex Stadium into delirium when she thumped in the winner after Sarina Wiegman's side had trailed up until the 84th minute of normal time.
A rendition of Football's Coming Home broke out in the stands as Stanway sprinted over to the corner to celebrate, with England leading for the first time after 95 minutes.
Substitute Ella Toone had volleyed in Manchester United team-mate Alessia Russo's flick-on to cancel out Esther Gonzalez's opener, setting up a nervous ending in stoppage time.
England had momentum on their side and capitalised as the crowd in Brighton were on their feet, while Spain continued to threaten until the final whistle.
Eventual victory for the hosts ensured they reached a fourth successive women's major tournament semi-finals and their impressive unbeaten run under Wiegman extends to 18 matches.
The Lionesses are now one of the leading favourites to lift the trophy for the first time at Wembley on 31 July, but they must overcome either Sweden or Belgium in the last four to get there.
Spain leave the tournament at the quarter-finals stage for the third successive time.
Semi-Finals
SF 1 - England v Quarter-Final 3 Winner - Tuesday 26th July - 8pm.

The tournament's been a treat to watch with fast flowing football and plenty of goalmouth action. What a screamer from Stanway to top off a great performance in getting back in it with minutes left. Grit and determination to turn the tide combined with some great individual skill. Dare we dream of winning the first major tournament since 1966?

Germany booked their place in the semi-finals of the European Women's Championship with victory over Austria at Brentford's Community Stadium.
It was a tighter game than many would have expected as Germany faced their biggest test yet in their pursuit of a record-extending ninth European title.
Klara Buhl hustled the ball from an Austrian defender and crossed into the box where Alexandra Popp, on for her fourth goal in four games, unselfishly left the ball to the arriving Lina Magull who slotted home to open the scoring.
Popp got her moment in the dying minutes of the match as Austria goalkeeper Manuela Zinsberger's attempt to play out from the back backfired and Popp stuck a boot out to nudge into the net.
The European heavyweights will face France or the Netherlands in the semi-final on Wednesday, 27 July in Milton Keynes.

German are my pick to become champions again, never watched last night's encounter, but along with Sweden represent the current top two teams, overall I am impressed with the standard of play, ball retention and ...the lack of ( male type) histrionics when one of the players go down " injured" and a bit of respect towards the referee... male players take note!!! Top tournament so far.
