"Peeler" and "Bobby" is an insult in your book? Oh and you're not coming across half as clever as you think you are. I don't think I am clever at all, in fact I know I am not. Many a witness will attest. Then there are people like you. Yes, people doing difficult jobs in the public interest deserve our respect. Your terms are slang and demeaning. Well I disagree. That's just you taking some phoney moral and intellectual high ground. I've been stopped and searched. Mid 80s. Me and a couple of friends were driving north on the M5,got pulled over by a Peeler patrol car.West Midlands. He said one of my mates smelt of cannabis so we're being arrested. My mate did'nt smell of cannabis,he just smelt,he's a drummer! Anyway,my mini 850 got thoroughly searched, seats moved etc. The 3 of us were strip searched. Now this is'nt very nice for some people.I had years of football club changing rooms it did'nt particularly worry me. One mate just said and I quote,"it's amazing how small your dick can go when you're nervous!" The other chap, the drummer was visibly upset by the experience. After a couple of hours or so they had found no cannabis they allowed us to go. No apology. They also found no deadly weapons on us. Now this was'nt a nice experience, but if it had led to finding eg a machete and one of us had plans to hack someone to death because they lived in another street, then I say fair play to the Police. Stop. Search. Save lives.

I don't know, but I suspect that those stats are driven by the nature of inner city populations, or specific neighbourhoods. For example, I cannot imagine there are many Stop & Search actions on Bishops Avenue, Hampstead, however if you are strolling down Peckham High St. minding your own business and your skin colour happens to be black, well good luck. Well there probably aren't many stop & search in Hampstead because that would reflect the very low crime rate in the area. There probably are a lot more in Peckham due to the very high crime rate in the area. The more stop & search the Police do in high crime areas the better. It helps keep dangerous weapons off the street. The main victims of knife crime are young black people (someone correct me if I'm wrong).

It helps keep dangerous weapons off the street. The main victims of knife crime are young black people (someone correct me if I'm wrong). Well In total 8117 crimes occurred within 1 mile of Hampstead High Street, London, NW3 1RE over the last 12 months February 2020 - January 2021. Meanwhile, in Peckham In total 15390 crimes occurred within 1 mile of Peckham High Street, London, SE15 5EB over the last 12 months February 2020 - January 2021. Stop and Search data reveals Between April 1, 2020 to March 31, 2021, the Met Police recorded 618,403 searches across London - an average of 1,694 a day. And Young Black men (85.4) are over two times more likely to be searched than young Asian (36) and white men (24.6). (Per 1,000) In Southwark, where Peckham sits there were 35,000 SuS carried. out. Per capita (1000s) Black folks were 100 and white folks 40. In Camden, where Hampstead sits, there were 24,000 SuS carried out. Per capita (1,000s) Black folks 169 and white folks 32. For reference there are circa 50,000 more residents in Southwark than Camden. Crudely then although the number of crimes recorded around Peckham were nearly double that of Hampstead, and the total population in Camden is 50,000 lower than Southwark, there is a 60% greater chance of being stopped in Camden if your skin happens to be black than Southwark. Blimey.
