Elon Musk wants less censorship on his newly bought Twitter 'machine'.
Good.
I imagine plenty of drippy Guardian readers will be worried that 'new free words' may jump out of the screen and bite them.
You'll be able to say eg , you think a certain religion is bad for the UK.
Maybe argue against people with penises sharing public toilets and changing rooms with women.
Donald Trump may well return tweeting his way back to the White House.

Some posts sail very close to being "racist remarks" which are against forum rules. I have occasionally had to edit out comments without waiting for the 'report' to be logged and investigated. It's a horrible grey area trying to moderate 'freedom of speech vs causing offence". My hope is always to try and find middle-ground - for both sides of any debate to at least understand the other sides views. Listen and reason. Preferably with a bit of humour. It's not a black and white world, but shades of grey. (I've just reported myself for using the phrase "black and white" which is undoubtedly a phrase based on prejudice and that black is 'bad' and white is 'good' and I will try to use more appropriate language in the future. I sentence myself to reading the guardian for 20 minutes and listening to James O'Brien for 10 minutes).  |

Personally my view is that you guys set the rules and if I want to participate then it is my responsibility to ensure, or try to, that I adhere to them. From your perspective it must be hard to moderate when a small number of people do not even understand that they are making remarks that break your rules, particularly around racism. |
