We have been in deep trouble with the current set up for many a year IMO, the latest interview is just the latest in a long line of bumbling clueless speeches given by the Chairman, I think the majority of Gasheads are starting to feel like voodoo dolls now, every time the esteemed leader moves his lips we all feel a sharp pain in the back, all the while thinking please stop talking and starting walking, preferably to Italy one way.

How do they sack themselves? Seriously, what they do is take a step back from running the club, employ a professional business analyst to conduct a serious review, not sticking Boycie in charge of deciding if the shop should stock pencils with rubbers built in, or rubbers with pencils built in, a proper professional, top to bottom disection of the club and what has gone wrong. Then act on the recomendations. Then employ a wise old bird, like Lennie, someone who has been round the block, someone with a black book of contacts. These things cost money, and the recomendations will include employing new skilled help, but no business will run well without up front investment in personnel, systems and infrastructure. Unless these things are correct you can do 90% of the work for only 10% of the results. And that's where we are right now. Then they concentrate on ensuring that targets are being met, arrange funding when required, and try to enjoy being involved with the club, because all but 1 of the last 10 or so years must have been as painful for them as it has been for us.

Totally agree. It will cost a bit to put things right as you describe - but the cost of failure to the date must have been huge and continuing down that path will be even worse. No doubt investing in proper, structured business planning now will be a revenue saving in the long run.

Can you name one other football club who have called in a professional business analyst to review how a club is run, is there even such an analyst(s)? As far as employing somebody like Lennie didn't he start or downfall under NH by signing the likes of Blizzard on stupid contracts. Surely if anybody was a suitable "wise old bird" fit for the role it was John Ward, and look what a mess he helped to create.

It didn't take long to find one and I'm sure a few more minutes research would throw up a lot more examples because all successful businesses employ outside consultants to advise them and football is no exception. “The Deloitte team has continued to provide excellent support and assistance to Everton FC on a range of business matters. The team led by Dan continues to impress given their professionalism, excellent sector knowledge and commercial acumen.” Robert Elstone, Chief Executive, Everton FC "

If the " thorough top-down review" is now complete with the one conclusion that we didn't score enough goals , then why have we waited and are sti be bell waiting for new strikers and creative midfielder to be signed What a farce !!!!!

We should get someone in to score some goals. I'm not overly keen on Us losing a s**t load of money again.

Forest Green couldnt wait to get rid of Matt Taylor they knew he would not score that many especially against the top sides in this league, we have now concluded that we didnt score enough goals so we jumped at the chance to sign him also White who scored an average amount also knowing Brunt is nowhere near the player we first got the focus should have been a Quality Striker that cost a few bob at all costs.. But we have spent the budget on poor midfielders and a awful replacement for Michael Smith so I cant see this season being turned around by the current bunch in charge however they dress it up but with that in mind I will go Saturday and hope for the best.

Well now, would anyone care to argue the case now that the 'top to bottom review' was ever anything more than a load of bulls**t to fob people off with when we had just been relegated?
