The answer, as ever is money. The premiersh*t needs as much cash as possible to keep the gravy train trundling along. Financial 'fair play' rules? Nah.

FIFA lead the way, UEFA and the PL follow.
Corruption and a total lack of moral backbone has probably always been there. The more money at stake, the more corruption exists.
But the award of the World Cup to Russia, then Qatar was kind of blatantly waving a wads of cash in mug punters faces.
"We are corrupt. You KNOW we are corrupt. We KNOW that you KNOW we are corrupt. We don't care!"
