www.bbc.co.uk/news/uk-england-bristol-59037474A local councillor rightly wading in and it’s making the news. The club may not give a toss themselves but they need to know that when they become the news they need to respond in the right way. A leadership guru wouldn’t go amiss here. I mean a real one, not a mate of Joeys masquerading as one to get on the payroll

Oh my God!! How will the club survive this?
Gobby B***** gobs off and uses inappropriate word, revealing stream of consciousness.
It's just click-bait...but it would never have happened under John Ward or Paul Trollope.

I would like our club to be on the front page of BBC Sport for positive footballing reasons…
More negative press.

I witnessed Trolls yelling at Swansea officials that they were "A bunch of Welsh ***ts" It was pointed out to him that he was a Welsh international.

BBC Article in Full:
Joey B***** has been told to consider his future as Bristol Rovers manager after comparing a poor performance by his side to the Holocaust.
Bristol councillor Fabian Breckels, an associate member of the Jewish Labour Movement, said the former England player's comments were "appalling".
Mr Breckels also criticised the club which has so far refused to comment on Mr B*****'s comparison.
He said they "ought to provide a considered response fairly soon".
Footage of the Rovers' manager's comments after its 3-1 defeat to Newport County went viral, and Mr Breckels was one of a number of anti-Semitism campaigners to criticise the former England international.
Dame Helen Hyde, a trustee of the National Holocaust Centre and Museum, believes his analogy showed a "lack of knowledge".
"I don't think Mr B***** knows what the word means and he is certainly not aware of the huge sadness and offence he has caused.
"Might I suggest he is encouraged to learn about these tragic events," she added.
The Bristol Holocaust Memorial Day Steering Group said it found Mr B*****'s comments "really offensive".
"To compare the poor performance of a player or team to a Holocaust shows a lack of understanding of the true barbarism, torture and evil that was inflicted on vulnerable groups in society," it said.
"As one of two professional football clubs that represent the city, it is saddening that neither the football club or the manager Joey B***** has issued an unequivocal apology."
Karen Pollock, chief executive of the Holocaust Educational Trust, also said it was "clearly an inappropriate comparison".
During a post-match press conference on Saturday, Mr B***** told reporters: "I said to the lads during the week, 'the team's almost like musical chairs'.
"Someone gets in and does well but then gets suspended or injured.
"Someone gets in for a game, does well but then has a Holocaust, a nightmare, an absolute disaster."
The Holocaust, carried out by the Nazis during World War Two, claimed the lives about an estimated six million Jews.

The article refers to "the holocaust".That meaning a specific tragic mass murder in WWII.
Joe used the word "holocaust",,as in having a nightmare of a game.
Someone ought to point this out to the councillor.
An apology for any offence caused perhaps but sacking or resignation, absolutely no way.

My copy of Collins English Dictionary defines 'holocaust' as a noun meaning destruction or loss of life on a massive scale. Hence you, I or B***** might refer to 'a nuclear holocaust' totally innocuously. If he had said 'The Holocaust' that would be very different - that would be referring to the deliberate murder of 6 million Jews. I notice the BBC report quotes JB saying 'holocaust' with a capital H. As JB was talking that is an interpretation by the BBC. Very typical of the shoddy, shabby depths their journalism has sunk to.

If this was the only thing he had ever done wrong, would it get this coverage? Press and forum? Probably not. But that is another story. Until the court cases think he should be judged on his football management. Nothing there gives me confidence, B***** out.

It's the connotations of the word. B***** knew exactly what he was saying and that it would cause offence. He's a deliberately antagonistic character and fair play to those of you supporting him. Not that it matters, but my opinion is that support is totally unwarranted.
Anyway, B***** out.

The fact is when you make the news headlines you have to respond appropriately whether you believe in it, give a toss or not. Politicians have to do it all the time. So do CEOs and business leaders. Then everyone moves on. Burying your head in the sand does not make it go away

That seems the way these days and I find very annoying. Trying to work out what I need to stock up next before the next news induced panic buying frenzy.

I couldn't care less if he is sacked, but not on spurious grounds drummed up by some journalist. This is the third time today I've seen this kind of claptrap. Firstly Ugo Moniye was voted off Strictly due to racism, not because he was a rather mediocre dancer. Then a young actress of colour from 'The Outlaws' complained of not getting good parts, totally oblivious of the fact she might not be that good an actor.

BG, Ugo Moniye deserved to be voted out.
Thanks for the reminder about The Outlaws though. Starts tonight. I'll set the Betamax.
