If you require calm and decent discourse then write factually, and don't attempt to glorify somebody with a long history of violence. Maybe he’s turned a corner? We’re on a one match winning run and he hasn’t been accused of assaulting anyone for weeks To quote the old Charlie Brown baseball cartoon from my childhood. '..maybe we'll win one in a row..'

Plenty of fuel..in my tank

Has Garner done a clear out there too? I know they were in financial trouble but I haven't followed them that closely. Is it a new team? They seem to be doing alright judging by their league position, but the fans don't seem that convinced as there was a bit of a moan about tiki-taka football from some of them. I think they only had about 8 professionals on their books with two weeks to go to the start of the season? Whatever the criticisms are of his time at Rovers - looks to me like he has done a remarkable job with little financial support. Well done Ben Garner.

Joey has taken a little of the responsibility for our relegation in a roundabout way, but still blaming BG mostly:
For us, it’s just about taking care of business. We’ve got a team that we want to get a positive result and a positive performance against.
It just happens to be the manager who’s probably the most susceptible for the club’s relegation. He will have to take that on the chin, Ben, as I will and as Paul Tisdale will.

If you require calm and decent discourse then write factually, and don't attempt to glorify somebody with a long history of violence. err? Citation needed. You have to flag up where I glorified Joey or strayed from the facts. I call him out when he makes mistakes. And, to close that down too with facts and truths of the matter. No one knows either way what is going to go on in the court. But we can be pretty sure, provided we are riding high in table, Joey won’t be sacked. Regardless what was said before, it will be fudged won’t it, so he can continue managing our promotion push. That’s even if it goes against him in court, which no one can be sure about particularly as there won’t be witnesses supporting either charge, and without evidence against them people remain innocent until proven guilty. But questions around our manager and his past shouldn’t even be raised here, this a football thread for those wishing to enjoy build up to a big game! I’m sure we got too much for them. I also suspect Swindon have bad focus, they have already gone down brawling several times this season. We keep our composure and focus, get the lead, easy from there, my prediction. Anyone else want some? Yer maw's git balls n yer da' loves it. We weren't bottom under Garner, there's your citation. The statement from the owner was clear, guilty and he's sacked. No wriggle room. But I'm still hopeful that he'll be gone before December.

The first of his two trials for violence is in November... When he's declared 'not guilty' I can see it being a painful experience attempting to explain the difference to his acolytes on here between not guilty and innocent.

Whoever took the two corners that led to our Walsall goals better take them against Swindon.Probably aim for Pitmam or use him as a cunning decoy. Let's get stuck in and make Swindon feel a wee bit uncomfortable about their possibly negative possession. Let's kill their attempts at a good pass to their forward/s. Big support is important for this game. Rovers to win 2 0 Brown has a good left whipped in ball

I wonder if the pitch will be its normal condition after the 'little but of Freddie' last weekend..

Lord mayor's show. For me.
The lord mayor's show that lasted only 10 mins last week.... today I see a whole different ball game.
Both crowds will be emotionally charged, I think it's going to be huff and puff hard slog. Probably a draw.
If we out-experience BG and his set up, we can win....I think we need to be more direct today, especially as it's wet out and zippy (not the annoying 🌈) on pitch, so I say hoof it up to pacey forwards and leave Pitman in the box goal mooching for set pieces.
How's this for radical: 3-3-4. Or an intermittent 3-3-1-2-1....?
Push everyone high up, play direct, get the physical presence of blocking keeper (like we saw last week in second half) and fire balls into the box.
I'll plump for a close Gas win. 1-0. 8000. Bit of before and afters on Glos Rd or Filton Ave......much cider enjoyed, starting in next hour!
COME ON YOU BLUES......Upthe*hic!*Gas!

He just need to keep his own players composed, focused and on the pitch today. He really is a cunning sod for going on attack to divert attention away from his own failings, Donald Trump would be proud of this little mini me. When Tis went and Tommy took over we played pretty well in those two games, but it was direct, it was the most direct type of football. Where Ben is blamed for bringing the players to our club to relegate us, my hunch is Ben didn’t get the players he wanted for effective Garner ball off Tommy. On Garners sacking, Tommy explained it as greenhorn Ben rubbish at using the bench during the match - I think Tommy felt we would get more points playing more direct football with the squad. But Garners starting formation and players and his changes from the bench were 100 times more sane and effective than B*****’s and Tisdales! I blame fans. Regardless the influence of boards, and in this case Tommy, fans always put the big majority of blame on manager for transfers and results - if a clubs on a slide, through a succession of managers, there’s more than that one bloke to blame.

Since Joeybag has taken over its been all downhill with no achievements at all

Start by demanding that the owner suspends a manager who is awaiting trial on 2 charges relating to violence, then maybe you'll be taken seriously? Just a thought.

Though the passing game when we got it right, in half games or parts of games, with pace and forward intent to the passing, wasn’t that bad to watch. It was more frustrating at times than dull, but you are right, If the defence and defensive midfield had settled down to stop giving us that soft underbelly, improved points haul from blocks of games could even have flirted us with play offs in second half of season. Ben lacked a sound settled keeper for so many of his games here. That Dutchman probably did as much to sack Ben, as anything Tommy and B***** claim is Ben’s fault.

Cunning? Jose and Fergie were cunning when they used to wind up other managers while winning trophy after trophy. Doing it after what Joey has achieved so far is hilarious rather than cunning. So far he’s more Eddie the Eagle than Pep when it comes to football management
