Walsall Home form (last 4 games) - Won 2 Drawn 1 Lost 1. Rank 10/24 Goal difference +1 Rovers Away form (last 4 games) - Won 0 Drawn 1 Lost 3. Rank 23/24 Goal difference -5 Bookies unsurprisingly have Walsall as favourites to win at 11-8, Rovers win 2-1, the draw 11-5. Rovers are currently outside of the relegation zone by virtue of Bristol coming before Scunthorpe in the alphabet. What a great re-set it's been so far. Our chances of "challenging" would appear to be receding.

We have played Walsall 104 times, winning 42, drawing 23 and have lost 39 times.
We have won 5-0, 5-1, 5-2 & 5-3, we have drawn 3-3 and many 0-0, 1-1 & 2-2, also lost 6-0, 6-1 & 5-0.
With a little application we can come away with a very needed 0-1 victory.

Andy Tillson should never have been sold to Walsall at the time. Terrible bit of business.
The name Walsall is derived from "Walh halh", meaning "valley of the Welsh"
Walsall became internationally famous for its leather trade. Walsall is the traditional home of the English saddle manufacturing industry, hence the nickname of Walsall Football Club, "the Saddlers". Apparently they will be wearing their full body leather home kit for this match as a commermoration to their history.
Noddy Holder MBE (born 1946 in Caldmore) musician and actor, lead singer and guitarist in glam rock band Slade.
Arguably Walsall's best ever player was Gilbert Alsop, born in Frampton Cotterill, scorer of 126 goals in 160 games. Another one that got away.

People blame the sale of Cureton and Roberts for our demise post 2000. I felt at the time the loss of Andy Tillson was even worse. I always remember the strikers as our heroes, but the best player I really ever saw in the quarters was Andy Tillson. Absolute quality

Their old ground at Fellows Park was dreadful.Reffed and ran the line there for 12 seasons and the officials room was always flooded so we stood on chairs to get changed. The old boy who paid our expenses always apologised and said,'We hope to have a new ground one day'.We always smiled but their set up now suits them just fine and the extra tier on the one stand shows what can be done. Recall at a Rovers Open Day,I was told we were having a new ground and to choose a seat at Cheltenham for the two seasons whilst the Mem was to be totally re-built.

The best we can hope for today is 0-0, but I expect defeat without scoring.
Yet another attacking player out injured.
JB sounding clueless in the pre-match interview, plus hints of starting to turn on his own players. "It's time to show what they can do", with another shrug of the shoulders as if to suggest he's totally run out of ideas - which I actually think is the case. It can't be long until he turns on us.
At no point in his tenure here has he ever acknowledged he might be playing the wrong formation or has anything to learn tactically.
Surely we must start today with a back 4 and play Saunders from the start? If we persist with a back 3 and Pitman on his own, I can't see us creating any chances.

Sadly find myself as in the Buckle days not caring if we lose (or even wanting a defeat) so that the manager gets sacked - no way for a Gashead to be.
