That's a reasonable interview. No frills but I'd prefer that than creating too great an expectation. Matt Taylor achieved good results at Exeter using both local players and a far less budget that what was given to B*****. It will take time for the culture to change however Taylor seems smart and a leader with integrity. Lower expectation and deliver more - looking forward to next season already. I suppose there's a "reasonable" chance Al is bluffing Chelts? The players budget being bigger than he's suggesting . We will know he's bluffing if we suddenly sign JCH. But then signing JCH could increase crowds by 1,000 each home game if he continues his scoring form from Peterborough. \

The question is whether MT is accountable for the team performances or whether it is a combination of the players and other outside influences. I don't know. My gut instinct is that most managers would struggle motivating a team of outgoing players based in merseyside involved in a secret whatsapp group run by B*****.
I hope there's a plan to recruit (and develop) players to MT's playing style and culture. I'm backing MT.

I won't use the other forum any way near as much. The contributions are more insightful and testing than the other place. I'm sure the other forum has an average younger age for both readership and contributions.
I like to think as this place as the Guardian compared to the other place as more News of the World. Both sources of bias information but this one has longer articles and bigger words!!

I remember an earlier interation of the forum on the rivals platform - each club had their own page within the Rivals umbrella. Pretty sure the initial Fans Forum match was also set up on that website - I played but some s**thead nicked my trainers left in the changing rooms. I remember that. Thank you for con'sole'ing me, pretty sure I asked my mum to pick me up in just my socks afterwards. They weren't even good trainers!!

I would assume the players signed by B***** also signed for B***** (and his team) and for whatever B***** sold them. It's unlikley they signed for the club. As soon as Taylor changes the remit then some of the players have worked out they are no longer part of the club's future or have already decided the alternative is better.
That's just football but that's why having a good manager is priceless

My father was unable to get a ticket. He has been a season ticket holder for decades and a supporter for over 60 years. He doesn't object to any person getting a ticket ahead of him, particularly if it's a potential new young fan, but he is disappointed that his season ticket hasn't given him some sort of priority.
He's 80 years old so doesn't have as good a grasp of the online ticketing system or is usually last to act on alerts or emails from the club.
Hopefully, we'll get a spare ticket somehow but I hope the club improves their ticketing system in the future. If anyone has a spare then please DM me and I'll sort you out.

I don't have any hatred for B***** due to his political views or social observations. Some seem reasonable for debating purposes but they are either articulated wrongly or miscontrued by both B***** and the media. Let him continue and the majority will soon get bored of his intentional provocation.
His views are more common that people like to admit - there are countless times when a pub/work/family conversation will desend into the non-PC realms. Although most of the time these people are just repeating someone elses views that ignited attention (albeit for the wrong reason).

Maybe if we get to the third round we'll have that spare cash needed for the JCH transfer. If Norwich City had morals they'll play their kids and let us win

Trying to follow the thread on the other forum.
Can anyone help confirm if terrace season ticket holders have a reserved ticket they can purchase today (Tuesday) before they go on general sale tomorrow? Some say it's a sale out whilst others say that terrace season ticket holders have a reserved ticket option but this needs to be actioned today - unfortunately it's all a bit Ted Rogers 3-2-1 in trying to solve how to get the ticket.
Just aksing for my old man who has a terrace season ticket, has been going for 50+ years but didn't know anything about the ticket sale until this morning.

I would assume Norwich will continue to rest players for the replay given they are six points from the play offs and have a game against West Brom four days later. Let's hope Ismael Miller isn't playing for Norwich.

He’s turned into a caricature of his worst self. He’s got as much longevity as Mr Blobby.

I think Connolly will come good. Still think we need a centre back with experience though.

Matt Taylor (Gaffer) is, and will be, a credit to the club. His interviewing technique is great - he listens to the questions and provides a detailed, well considered response without too many unnecessary adjectives, cliches or chest beating. He comes across as having far greater football intelligence than B***** despite not having premiership experience.
His next test is the transfer market - looking forward to seeing what players come in, go out or come out from the cold.

Wow. I was out of the loop for those years. What did we do with the money (risky question I know ...) Probably covered the substantial losses from DC's terrible transfers not to mention the increased operating costs.

Its interesting how Holloway has appointed himself as 'Mr Bristol Rovers', with the right to opine on each and every development at our club. He is still regarded well by the fanbase, and I still have a lot of time for him, but has used up a considerable amount of credit since his sacking by the club - his continued digs at the Dunfords, without whom there wouldn't be a club, didn't sit well with me at all. You were given financial backing Ian - and used it to sign Scott Jones, Mark Foran, Justin Richards and Micky Evans, who Geoff Dunford described, in pre-Tom Nicholls days, as the club's 'worst ever signing'. You were in substantial part responsible for the collapse at the end of the 99/00 'nearly' season, and the subsequent relegation. Interesting fact - Ian's considerable media presence isn't attributable to his innate good humour and down-with-the-lads bonhomie....its actually in large part due to the fact that QPR's training ground and stadium used to be right next to the BBC. Justin Richards..... dear, oh dear! ? Unforgivable.. What about those 2 kids he signed on loan in midfield and played them away to Millwall where we got demolished? We only needed a few points at that time and capitulated. Plus.... Cardiff away in cup live on TV? Earnshaw-gate. IH just threw us to the wolves and we were humiliated on national TV. Petulant at the time... Both those younsters (Wolleaston and Jordan Stewart) both went on to have respectable football careers. Indeed, Wolleaston was well regarded at the time he signed for Rovers on loan www.bristolworld.com/sport/football/bristol-rovers/john-terry-bristol-rovers-chelsea-3844332Gary Penrice would also have had input on signings (and maybe others at the club). That season was great however our midfield players were either known sicknotes (Pritch and Shore), veterens (Ollie and Walters), decent but not spectacular (Mauge) or youngsters (Hogg, Bryant, Trees). Then there was the Latvian. Holloway will always be a Rovers legend and probably has more 'what if...' recollections than most gasheads. But neither of us can undo the past. Also never knew that Marcus Andreasson was Liberian and not Swedish (according to Wikipedia).
