The C**y. Watching the game on Sunday on TV, we are absolutely miles behind them in everything we do and have been for years. It will be a long, long time before we can ever be considered anywhere near them in infastructure or on the pitch. If ever. Sad. You have to ask yourself, When was the last time Rovers "Gave" anything to the gas apart from some vouchers for so called pasties & a watered down tap water called beer ? The marketing person who came up with the scarf idea was brilliant, all those red scarf on full display of multi million TV audenance ... God help us Yes it was a good idea, but when they showed the Atyeo stand I couldn't help but think it looked like one of those "Where's Wally" pictures

It could have, and should have been so different. They give us the money, we build the Stadium, they sponsor a stand, they have corporate facilities in UWE we have Sainsburys on our shirt, in orange. That's what it could have been

Got my ticket this afternoon about 4pm, the woman in the shop said they had sold around 600 so far. Disappointing if we cannot put another 200 on that

Of course if in a few years we were to pull out of the EU, and slap some taxes on Lidl and Aldi, they wouldn't stay here too long. But seriously my Dad told me when I was a kid, "when you grow up, go in to selling food clothes, or become an undertaker. Of course the other think super markets look at is their "sphere of influence" and how many people live in it. The big supermarkets used to aim for 125,000, but they have lowered that considerably since Frome (pop 30,000)has Sainsburys, Asda and M&S, and they are big stores too, of course Sainsburys were the first to build. Interestingly, when I was a nipper, Frome had just about 10,000 inhabitants, and yes you could go out in to the country on your bike for a few hours and see no one. Ah, they were indeed the days.

If you didn't see the Panorama programme on Tescos watch it on I player. It really shows how they bully there suppliers and local councils. Sainsburys will be no different. Notice Charlotte Leslie has gone quiet, what with Sainsburys being a huge Tory benefactor.

Another plan bites the dust? I did wonder how a club like Woking can build a large modern seated stand on crowds of 1600 and we seem destined to have a tent as our main seated stand, then I remembered who runs Bristol Rovers. Woking built their stand over 10 years ago when they were full time and a "big" club in non league, and they had a rich owner. They built it because they only had 150 seats up until that point. They should have built a club underneath it, to make them some money, but didn't and that is why we need a new ground, to make us money when there are no games on

We were after him earlier in the season, in fact it was rumoured that we would swap Mc Crystal for him, but then he went to FGR.

What Sainsbury's will worry about are other "developments" and contracts they may have signed. Some of the others might now want to take them on as well. So, do they risk losing? I feel that they will want to come to some agreement.

Firstly once again none of us know anything about the contract or it's conditions, but Rovers won't take on Sainsbury's unless they have a good chance of winning. I also think that if there is one person who knows about building contracts then it is going to be Higgs who has built a small fortune from them. Then of course there is the negativity on here. Whatever Rovers do some of you just moan and moan. Deebs if you are walking away if we don't get a new ground, go now. AG is rebuilding, go there and watch the development. As for those who want to develop the Mem; where is the money coming from? Then the "let the fans run the club" group. What fans are they? They need to be rich ones that is for sure, and personally I don't know anyone. As for a supporters trust, well that really works, Brentford had one and they went down to Div 2, they then sold it to an individual and look where they are now. Or the mighty Exeter city, they have won.................nothing. We need to accept that we are a small club ran by small businessmen who all happen to be supporters. Of course we could be owned and run by people who aren't supporters. Who wants that? And for all those that think you can run a successful club on gates of 5000, that doesn't even cover the wages of a 22 man squad in Division 1 (given that so many people think that is where we should be).

This is Bristol Rovers Is anybody really surprised? We'll still be playing at The Mem in 100 years time! There'll still be a s*** tent at one end If The UWE doesn't come off them i'm going to walk away for good, I will have had enough of this absolute embarrassment of a football club Bye

Fits well with the Rovers way this, still no new permanent stand paid for by the club since the Tote End. Wrong, built an all seater stand at Twerton

Blackpool. They can't teach Higgs anything, he can do boom & bust all by himself, he lost every single penny generated by playing City twice, Cardiff, Wembley, promotion, FA Cup quarter finals, Lambert money, selling Hoskins, Caryol etc etc etc, all at a time when gate receipts were in excess of most of the teams we were playing, he also ran up record losses and made us a national laughing stock by getting us relegated out of the entire League. Bournemouth. Seriously? They sold their ground for £3m and now lease it back, they have offered £4.5m to buy it back but the offer wasn't accepted, that's what happens when you jump into bed with payday loan companies. OK, they have a Russian backer, but the moment he loses interest they will be well and truly stuffed. Hardly the debt free and progressive future Higgs has promised. Higgs wouldn't want to hear it, but if Rovers is to be marketed globaly as an opportunity to own a club with PL potential, then it would be best for him to be least in sight and to let professionals deal with presentation and negotiations. Look at his record as Chairman of Rovers, who would take him seriously? I thought Blackpool had money but he refuses to spend it I don't know about now but in the late 60's early 70's Owen Oyston was the richest man in the UK (that wasn't a member of the aristocracy)

Woking wanted it all ticket. Now when Rovers sell other clubs tickets at the Mem the charge 10% to cover the admin and wages for the people selling them. 99% of clubs do this however when Rovers told they would be keeping 10% Woking decided that they wouldn't go all ticket. From someone who works for the club

People have good reason not to give the club their money. Long memories. What about paying money direct tin to the builders account?

Thanks Stevek i could not agree more with your summing up of yesterday's dismal performance. We have a non-league manager who has assembled a non-league standard team and i feel a non-league culture now prevails at Bristol Rovers. The atmosphere was non existent probably because we felt embarased watching a Woking team at least matching us in every aspect of the game. They get about a 1000 supporters how come we are no better than them? As ive said on here months ago when we eventually get a proper experienced manager 90% of Clarks signings will be out the door. Yesterday are best outfield players were Parkes McCrystal Brown and Lockyer. Its no coincidence that all four were signed by the previous manager. I cant wait for Mr Clarke to depart. Demand Better Gasheads. if you don't like our non league club, with it's non league players and non league manager then suggest you spend the rest of your days at the s**t pit. Especially as I believe you are a Ted anyway

As Higgs said they are buying the ground, what they (Sainsburys) do with it is their business. Fracking anyone?
