I can't disagree with this, the clue's in the title, he's supposed to managing these guys. If the players (after a draw and a loss) are taking conference sides lightly (or to quote Mansell "We turned up and thought, because we were Bristol Rovers, that we were going to turn them over. Altrincham had other ideas and they got two well-deserved goals from mistakes from us.") then the fault has to lie with DC.
That said, what's the alternative? When you're an ex football league team with a poor squad, big expectations and people storming the team bus after an away game I think you're struggling to attract a manager with credentials. At this point none of us know what 'success' in this league should be and there's every chance a decent coach would sully his reputation here even if he was relatively successful.

Potential positive from the situation is that we'll rarely be playing against a full strength team midweek?

Good spot, I also heard a rumour David Moyes is looking for work now, and Glenn Hoddle is working as 1st team coach at QPR with an eye on a suitable non-league spot becoming vacant.

Well I've certainly ruffled a few feathers here haven't I. You guys carry on in your world where not only should Higgs loan the club more money, but should waive the interest on what he's already loaned, whilst yourselves supporting those who will no longer support the club with £20 because it's not working for them. A boycott does make a fan disloyal, anyone who supports a boycott favours their own inflated, deluded egos to the long term future of the club. It's not one rule for Higgs and another for us, success on the pitch will follow support from the fans, a boycott will send us into conference south before you lot realise your error, and perhaps you won't then, preferring to blame the failure on Higgs and the board. I don't for a second believe you are an impartial fan based on your historic contributions, but in case you are as a compromise why not pay your money to go and watch so you can financially support the club but voice your dissatisfaction with the way the club is being ran in other ways or will you be happy when the club do a Stockport? Firstly, I don't have any historic contributions and I'm not sure what you mean by 'impartial fan' but hey ho. I don't mean to say that fans have no 'voice' but I do feel the use of a boycott should be resisted in the strongest terms. Some have suggested that anything other than direct action is the result of 'apathy' I disagree and feel I'd be apathetic if I refused to challenge talk of a boycott in very strong terms, even if this does cause people to suggest I'm mentally defective. I also refuse to be part of some gathering outside the ground holding up placards calling for Higgs to resign or sell the clubs to any of a large number of wealthy and interested investors. Firstly I don't believe a change in boardroom personnel will transform our fortunes, and secondly I don't believe such an atmosphere will help us build a competitive non-league squad (and it is a building process no matter what some have chosen to believe). It's my opinion that the only way the club can move forward is through stability. Perhaps we should be more concerned with establishing funds for a competitive squad and supporting the team than pursuing a vendetta against the board or grandiose schemes for a 22,000 seater stadium.

I'd favour option 3. We have to accept where we are, it takes time to build a team in this league and the fans need to create an atmosphere that won't scare the sh*t out of every good player we might sign.

To all the boycotters if you do that the club could fold up within weeks, so if that's your objective get on and do your worst. NH and the rest of the shareholders will merely sell the Mem to Sainsburys , pay off the debts and pocket the residue. Outcome, no Rovers no more.Be careful, Antonio and the clever police are out in force so they'll probably call you for the double negative.

You do that, accept you're a customer buying a product. At least you'll have more integrity than the false fans staging a boycott.

You're probably right there mate unfortunately, I know a football club is more than a product to people, but people wouldn't stand for being sold a crap TV at an over inflated price, but when it comes to football they seem happy to pay over the odds for a lousy product. I don't get it really, like I've never been made to feel really welcome or like I belong particularly at a Rovers game, so where does the blind loyalty come from? I hear where you're coming from, but if you don't like LG you buy Phillips or Sony. You don't set up camp outside the LG factory and stage a boycott, equally you don't have the front to claim a part in LG's success when they do create a quality product. I'll happily welcome the fair weather fans back after they've staged their protest, but I'll know the one's who helped the club return to the football league, and those who'd rather play a losing game of politics with the board than invest their support in the club.

What's happening to the money? Well, I don't know but perhaps I can venture I guess. We've had a good gate for the first couple of weeks, yet after a mere 3 league games we have people calling for a boycott, perhaps it's sensible to leave a bit of cash in rather than blowing it on the expectation of continued support from the fans? Already it's quite obvious that many fans would rather stamp their feet and hold pathetic banners outside the ground than make a productive contribution to the stability of the club.
The conference, like other leagues, does not automatically favour the team with the most money, we've had to build a squad from next to nothing in a couple of months and we are going to have to get used to conference football, the return to the football league will take a couple more years unless we're very lucky.
Boycott if you want if you think that will change the club, however the only think this act of childish disloyalty will change is how much money the board are prepared to reinvest, given that they can't reasonably forecast for gates. Perhaps some of you believe in the free market and you think fans should vote on their feet? Fine, I respect that, if you want to take your money elsewhere to pursue a better product then that's fine, just make sure you p**s of Swindon or Trashdon and never again think you're a part of their success, as you weren't prepared to be a part of OUR survival.

Rightho, the consensus is that Higgs should pump another 6 figure sum to recruit players, but the fans shouldn't fork out £20 quid to watch the game? I can't be the only one to see the hypocrisy? Where's the gate money going? Get your head out of Higgs's ass. I'll stick my head wherever I like, and when I'm finished I'll stick my hand in my pocket and support my football club.

A boycott isn't the answer, the answer is to keep OUR money in to support OUR club. There is scant to no evidence that our fortunes will turn around if 'the board' resign tomorrow, we're looking at a prolonged stay in the conference and we're possibly tied into a massive stadium that we'll struggle to maintain, now is not the time to take our money out. As fans we are always happy to shout about being a part of club, now is the time to prove it, if we keep our money in when the 'product' is poor we WILL come out stronger the other end.

given where we are, the one golden egg that is left in the nest is the UWE. That is, to say the least, a very contentious statement.

Ban's been upheld but he's allowed to train with the squad. I'm glad CAS allowed FIFA to have some standards.

I'm sorry Padstow but Cheshire Gas is spot on about this, there's a difference between debt being part of the business as part of a reasonable and sustainable model supported by the market and sensible management and relying on BoD or calling for the chairman to put his hand in his pocket.

in my case in the 70s we were taught phonetic spelling with the idea being that gets 90% of words right then they'd teach us the exceptions. Unfortunately the syllabus and teaching methods changed mid stream and we never got second half of the equation (nor did we ever get taught grammar rules , verbs, nouns etc). Because of this change the Oxford O level Board agreed to not penalise our year for spelling/grammar mistakes! So in summary coming from a rural community we said "lose" like we said '"moo's" - so hence virtually everyone I know spells it loose. Also why still to this day my friend from Bristol still instinctively writes (as well as says) areal not area................ That'll explain why some people say "ideal" instead of "idea". Perhaps I left the area too young to pick up the funny spelling. Re the OP, I agree that it can't get much worse than this, my scant knowledge of the conference suggests there is a big division between the best and the worst clubs and we certainly shouldn't be worrying about successive relegations. That said, the first couple of weeks have been a bit of a shock for me as I convinced myself we'd be the exception and moonwalk back into the FL, although even being reportedly ripped apart by John Akinde can't bring to ground hard enough to contemplate life in conference south!
