To quote, "Let's not get back into the cult of DC 'who does nothing wrong'.". You then list the players that were loaned into the club last year. This clearly implies that you believe that DC's loan strategy or success rate was wrong - that he is flawed when it comes to getting in players on loan. Can you objectively prove that, by comparing to other managers? Or are you just having a meaningless moan (which is fine btw, but you should admit it)? Oh dear faggoty's cage well & truly rattled, twice in 2 days seems my success rate is pretty good. Hopefully you'll applaud the poster who isn't as lazy as you when it comes to analyzing other managers. You deflect, sir.

I disagree with you there. In fact, I remember it being a breath of fresh air when Campbell returned from injury, as he could pass a ball occasionally and had some sense of positioning. JPK was an horrendously negative player, from what I recall.
the record books seem to agree with me - Campbell had a 33% win ratio, when he mostly played himself, while Penney had a 15% win ratio, when he mostly played JPK.
And what factor is weighted into the statistics to take account of the supposed dressing room mutiny under Penney? As you rightly point out there are many factors that go into a team's result, which are tricky to control for. Really its hard to pin down any one factor, with such a small set of results.
Indeed, 8 games is an even smaller set of results. I'm glad to see that you're not the sort of person to blame any one factor for the outcome of such a small result set.

That's not your nationality, that's your ethnicity or race. Aha, with your kind help I'm now beginning to work it all out. Keep pointing me in the right direction, if you've a mind to of course. But as I was born in England I take the simple view that I am English, as most Scottish people now regard themselves as Scottish and ditto the Welsh and Ulster people. The concept of regarding oneself as British is fading fast, despite the Act of Union being in place. Does that make me a nationalist do you think? An English nationalist

Now I know you are just being silly. He was great at tackling, but couldn't accurately pass a ball more than 3 feet. He just ran around like a little dog. A poor man's Craig Stanley, which is a hell of a thing to be Nah. Campbell's pride cost us points that could have kept us up playing himself ahead of JPK. I disagree with you there. You are both, unless you reject the Act of Union?
On some forms that I complete I'm best described as ''White British.'' Where does that in factor into the Act of Union? It's very complicated, this nationality business. That's not your nationality, that's your ethnicity or race.

If you want to work out how successful a loanee is you must do the following... (Love from fans x Skills and talent) ____________________________ (Position when signed x haircut) Perhaps that's why Kalala was unsuccessful:
Wikipedia: He now resides in Nice, France where he works as a barber in a beauty salon he owns named "Estika".

I'm English first, British 2nd I imagine you were after your legal national status, rather than your emotional one. Perhaps they should make that clearer on the form.

The Visa Waiver scheme works very well once you got it set up, what pee's me off bigtime is you still have to fill out loads of forms on the plane before you enter the US of A ! And.... i live in ENGLAND Not the UK something our American friends don't get You've obviously had a similar problem to me then. I put down on my application form which I completed on the plane, that I was English (not British) and it caused no end of problems when I landed. Oh, and they weren't particularly friendly neither. You are both, unless you reject the Act of Union?

I used to have a 10 year visa for the US in my passport arranged by my company. Why not get something similar if they still do that? Interesting stuff. Regarding Ferguson, he's the only person to have managed Man U over a 25 year period, so would be hard for him to have the highest loan success rate at Man U over a 25 year period...
LVG averages a loan success rate at 4% at the moment...
Moyes was at 12% and before Fergie, Big Ron sat at only 11%...
But neither of those managed Man U over a 25 year period

DC's loan success rate was 62%, this compares well to... John Ward - 28% Mark McGhee - 34% Paul Buckle - 19% Stuart Campbell - 31% Dave Penney - 14% Paul Trollope by himself averaged a loan success rate of 39% but with Lennie this went up to 59%. Lennie was basically worth 20% of Trolls loan success rate. The most successful managers in the last twenty five years loanwise was Gerry Francis (first term) who had a loan success rate of 71% and the Broadhurst - Osman joint management who had a rate of 67%. On average a loan success rate of over 70% will win you promotion in 84% of years from the fourth tier, however in the previous 3 years success rates of only 61% have seen all teams promoted 87% of the time. Away from Rovers Alex Ferguson is the only manager in history to have a loan success rate of over 14% over a 25 year period at Manchester United. Interesting stuff. Regarding Ferguson, he's the only person to have managed Man U over a 25 year period, so would not be hard for him to have the highest loan success rate at Man U over a 25 year period...

Ah now, you are the one saying that DC's loan choices were 'wrong'. So its up to you to prove that his choices were, overall, wrong, when compared to a control. Your assumption is yet again wrong. I listed the loan signings & said some were hits & some were misses. Not many seem to disagree with that. So do go & do your own investigation in to other managers & clubs if that's what interests you. Nothing for me to prove however wrong you are To quote, "Let's not get back into the cult of DC 'who does nothing wrong'.". You then list the players that were loaned into the club last year. Should have been arrested when with us, for crimes against football and impersonating a football manager. He had six games didn't he? How many did DC have at the end of last season? Penney had that chance to bring in some of his own players though.

So you'd be happy if Higgs sold Rovers to some billionaire bloke, he relocated Rovers to Bedminster and changed our club colours to Red?(It will happen to Bristol RFC, believe me)
I never said I'd be happy, but Bristol Rugby has f*cked themselves over for 20 years because of bad management, no one else.
They kept getting themselves in a mess they couldn't get out of and it has cost them their home be it Rovers or Bristol Sport.
If Lansdown wants to change their home kit to Red, then it will be up to the fans to make a stand if they are against it. If they accept it, then that is up to them
They are Bristol RFC in name only. They are Bristol City RFC, so I cannot support them. For me, it's an MK Dons situation.

Clubs working together is great. We should have forged closer links with Glos Cricket and Bristol Rugby years ago. Clubs being bought up and having their identity removed is another. But if the rugby lot are happy, let them be. They didn't mind renaming themselves after a car or signing a deal that they knew could mean they lost the Mem for almost nowt. I dislike them because they blame us for their own failings. Plus, if it plays in City's colours at City's ground.... Not to mention their blatant financial doping - Gavin Henson and Andy Robinson employed to play against part timers? Come on. I don't buy this idea that we all must support them otherwise we're bad Bristolians. Totally. Bristol RFC is dead. We are no more bad Bristolians for not supporting Bristol City RFC, than we are for not supporting Bristol City FC.

How does his loan player hit ratio compare to other managers? No idea I don't follow other teams. The internet is out there for you to investigate, let us know your findings. Ah now, you are the one saying that DC's loan choices were 'wrong'. So its up to you to prove that his choices were, overall, wrong, when compared to a control.

Let's not get back into the cult of DC 'who does nothing wrong'. He's had a fantastic season, far exceeding my expectations (though not my hopes) but the full list of loan players shows his choices were in fact hit & miss: Dave Martin Five months Adam Cunnington Three months Lyle Della Verde One Month Bradley Goldberg Two Months Nathan Blissett One Month Alex Wall One Month Fabian Spiess One Month Adam Dawson Three Months Josh Wakefield One Month Chris Lines Two Months How does his loan player hit ratio compare to other managers?
