Just the 3 signings this week.
I thought we were due to be placed under an EFL transfer embargo and are a basket case of a club?

Thank you Mr Holmes. What are the highlights of the seven new signings? I agree on experienced proven striker, but the lack of goals last season was lack of creating more than half chances, not huge lack of conversion. You need to look at the stats Mr Bus. We created more chances than many, and Westbrook was in the top 10 chance providers would you believe (I didn't, but true). If we had an average forward line conversion rate we would of stayed up. We watched all the games. You are re writing history if you saying they missed stacks of good chances, not half chances. Really good chances rarely came along. to be fair, it’s that difficult component, goals, and the creation of them, that is very hard to go out and buy. It’s creating goals and chances on training field where Managers and coaches prove themselves.

There was good statistical analysis report a few weeks ago, which showed our chance creation was bang average for the league, but actual completion was well below. I will see if I can find it, but failing at the moment. Totally agree with you this is where a manager and coaches earn their salt, and that's where I'm hopeful with some of the signings made. Thomas, Finley, Collins and a fit Nicholson could be good providers. Maybe Westbrooke will come the player we thought we had bought. In my opinion still missing a natural number 9, which if we don't get, will be a risky strategy... Maybe Ayunga, Hanlon, Hulbert will prove me wrong. In many ways hope so.

Just say that the way stats are collected now makes for much interesting chat but I’m afraid in the light of where we finished, how we collapsed in the last quarter of the season makes me trust the stats a lot less than I should perhaps. I’m with superbus regarding the stats. The number of chances we created never seemed great and our ability to convert them even worse. I am however prepared to be proved wrong. But I’m with you about being optimistic about how we’ve done this summer. The proof will of course be when the team starts playing in August and September and as ever I’m optimistic that next season will be better than last. We are still missing the natural goalscorer and perhaps another FB. Not long to wait now! UTG!

Apologies in advance if any of the data / maths is wrong. Looks like the squad has largely been re-built. My concern is that we have not bought a seasoned goal scorer. There may well be time to bring one in.

I suspect the forwards we have now will be provided many chances to score in Joey's new Rovers.

The squad that went to Bisham Abbey for the week recently consisted of 19 players, if I counted them correctly from the video footage.
I'm still trying to recognise the newcomers, but if I'm not mistaken Paul Coutts and Sam Finley were notably absent from the sessions. Neither of them played in the friendlies against Melksham or against Barnet.
Is the reason for their omission already well known? If so, I must have missed it.
Grateful if anyone can enlighten me!

Suspect either they have injury or covid isolation issues

There may well be time to bring one in. Just adding the Goals Per Game for our existing strikers: Brandon Hanlon: 29 goals from 168 games GPG 0.17 Jonah Ayunga (all tiers): 38 goals from 150 games GPG 0.25 Jonah Ayunga (top 5 tiers, includes Sligo Rovers and Galway Utd): 12 goals from 85 games GPG 0.14 So I would suggest not a lot of 'natural goal scorers' at the Club. Though that of course could change. Jonah needs to step up. Hopefully My B***** can do with Brandon Hanlon what Arsene Wenger did with Thierry Henry. Jobs a good 'un.

So, to summarise. 1) Evolution not revolution 2) Setting up a club DNA, pretty football and a vision of sustainability, by developing younger players 3) The great reset.
I’m not including NH’s root and branch review.
What a bloody mess.
