I know you can't live in the past, but the 2 players that we had who could make things happen, Sercombe and JCH, both gone. The player who broke up opposition attacks, and scored a few, Ollie Clarke, gone. Sure hope Garner doesn't get a virus on his laptop or we are in big trouble. Take your point but.. Sercombe barely played last year and when he did, didn't really create much. Westbrooke is much better IMO. Ollie Clarke found his level IMO, often struggled and his passing was wayward. Joel Grant is a vast improvement. JCH - well if he was as unfit as the media and DF suggest it was only a matter of time before he was back on the table. That said he's a huge presence gone and not sure if Ayunga is the man, but we could all be in for a shock! Um, I hope you mean to say Josh Grant? I saw Joel Grant when he played for Wycombe against us years ago....they are very different players. I confess. It's not very often, but I'm in agreement with Bambi. There. It's said. We've lost two instrumental players that could make things happen, maybe not consistently (because if they both were, they'd be playing at higher level), but at our standards Sercs and JCH were well respected. I'm not do sure either have been suitably replaced by proven individuals. It depends on alot of variables.....I just haven't seen anything (Sunderland caveat apart) to make me put my whole faith in what I've seen so far in BG or where he intends to take us...

But, Bennie boy has certainly got WAQ’s backing. I don’t think that we will see anything change, regardless of results. I’m very much hoping that BG has, at last, got his ideal team and that he does well. Like yourself, I have my doubts but it’s the Rovers way to hope for the best but prepare for what could be bad. The last friendly seemed to get a lot of positive comments. This feels surreal, the season starting and us not being able to go. As many others have done, I have found other things to do but I hope I get the buzz back once we get going UTG

Posh's manager reckons JCH is a bit unfit: "Jonno got another 90, he clearly needs fitness, he doesn't fit the fitness levels we require," said Ferguson after the match. "So we're going to have to work with him closely in terms of getting him stripped down a bit."They always say that, a good way of motivating the new player to do better and not think he has arrived, how could he play 90 mins if not fit. Also a decent dig at the previous club. New managers nearly always do it.

So why wasn't he fitter, stronger and angrier with us?

So why wasn't he fitter, stronger and angrier with us? It wasn't me who even suggested that he had the potential to be any of those things, I was just commenting on the statement coming out of Peterborough FC. But if he does have that potential then you raise a very good question, which given the number of clubs he's been at should probably be directed at the player rather than at Rovers I would have thought. Not suggesting that you did imply that anything was Rovers' fault there by the way. And following on from that, if he does become a better player, and can stay injury free, he's going to be off to the 2nd tier pretty quickly I would imagine.

He seems to always have strapping on his thigh, depends on how PBoro want to play, they do seem to play with an offensive line up and philosophy, their 3 strikers were brilliant last season, talked about every week on Quest, remember we did well to draw nothing each with them at home and missed the away game. I think he'll get chances playing for this team, lets be fair he was feeding off scraps a lot with us.
