I certainly don't want any announcement on a playing budget that should be a closely carded secret between the board & manager. Let's hope the manager gets the budget he wants then, or he may have to go round the back of the bike sheds and have a little cry about it. Have spent a few hours looking at the standard of Conference football, only on YouTube, but to be honest, it's dreadful. I have no idea why people are saying it's a hard League to get promoted out of? Surely even Higgs can organise a team to get out of that park League at the right end? As for the review on Dunford, he's already answered that, he handed over a promotion squad to Ron Craig, so nothing is Geoff's fault.

Some City supporter (so hardly a reliable source I know) has said the following on OTIB:
Just been told UWE stadium development "on hold for the foreseeable" and a press release will be made this week. I hope this is true. I'll await KITR to confirm or if he's heard different.
To be honest this wouldn't surprise me in the slightest and it's what I've been expecting for a while now. I hope he's wrong but expect that he is right.
Anyone here heard any whispers?

Well people have speculated on that scenario. Who knows if it is true. If KITR backs it up then he has been pretty accurate Re; UWE news

It can't be so, Higgsy said the "stadium plans are unaffected by relegation." We wouldn't be mislead by our esteemed board of directors, would we? :wallbang:

Didn't say I believed him, just posting what he said! But to be honest I expect nothing less - the final insult and kick in the face.

If the past is anything to go by, weeks of silence has been broken with a crap statement regarding the ground, so best prepare for the worst just in case!!

Think its a bit unfair to say"only the select few" can/will attend the SCEGM. After all there are approx 2000 members,a third of the usual match day crowd, let alone anyone who joins up before the meeting(not sure what the cut-off date is)Thats a very fair number I would have thought. Ok,if YOU are not a member you cannot attend, which seems fair enough to me. I shall now wait for the flak!!

If so, the icing on the cake will be that we heard if first via the Teds' forum. As each day passes, I'm gradually resigning myself to expect no significant changes to help move us forward.

Right there is everything that's wrong with Rovers, find a way to divide and cause issues rather than a way to include everybody with an interest in the FC.

I am getting mine Friday so that I can attend (but that is about all I want it for). The fact that they weren't even sure why they were arranging it though....... That said if the SC had some foresight or an inkling of why an EGM was necessary then they should have opened it up to all, but they don't so....
Is there any confirmation of whom, if anyone from the club will be in attendance?

I think BSS said that Nick and Darrell will be there.
I am a bit confused though - shouldn't the purpose of an EGM, which is limited to 2 hours, be for the SC members to discuss and agree their stance on the club's current plight? Then to agree how to challenge/support the BoD to begin addressing the problems that led to us being where we are?

Why have the SC called the EGM and what are they hoping it will achieve etc, etc?
I am sure the SC is hoping much like the club, that The chair and/or manager being there will deflect away from the SC and there will be little hassle so they can carry on as you were

What I do know, having spoken to someone from the club is that we have agreed terms with 4 players, but with existing contracts waiting to expire and players being on holiday obviously no announcements can be made yet.
Regarding the reporting of Wycombe to the FA and FL this was not with the intention to get back into the football league. The board know the trap door is firmly shut, but what they are chasing is financial recompense. If that is forthcoming it will certainly help bridge the gap from the loss of income from being a FL club.
I also asked as to the financials of the club, they have a provisional budget but nothing is confirmed yet as at the time of the last announcement, the board did not have specifics from the football conference. There is also now the Lambert coming our way, i would like to hope that is reinvested back into the playing side in some form.
As for Dunford, was this the same Dunford that sacked Holloway, got us relegated to L2, employed Graydon then got lucky under Osman and then employed Ian Atkins? Thought as much. Bigger picture isn't so bright after all is it.

Bigger picture isn't so bright after all is it. The bit I've highlighted is one of the most alarming for me. Surely gross negligence on Tony the Till's part. I work in Finance and it's incomprehensible to me that the guy entrusted with the Financial well-being of the club did not know the full financial implications of the drop well in advance. I know 'relegation was not an option' but it's not as though this come out of nowhere - we were in and around the relegation zone all season and so it was always a possibility however much anybody didn't actually want it to happen. To not be prepared for that eventuality when it did actually occur is shocking and, in my company at least, such an oversight would have serious disciplinary consequences. But I doubt anything will happen at the 'old boys club' and I'm sure it'll still be 'trebles all round' in the Boardroom As for the Lambert money, clearly that will be used to 'offset losses from relegation' - I doubt if Clarke will get to see any of it. I'm bracing for a LONG stint in non-league. I fully expect a flirtation with relegation before any flirtation with promotion over the next few seasons

If you go on the BBC transfer page, you see asterisk against transfers saying deal to go through on x date, but with Rovers track record of getting paperwork signed…… As for the budget, well that about sums it up. Rovers never had a fecking clue and still don’t

The bottom line is one month on we know that we will be playing non league football next season.
We know nothing about what each of the Bods said to themselves when holding an internal review.
We have signed not one player.
We have no idea when or if the UWE is going ahead.
Finally we all know we have been taken for an almighty p*** take of a ride and unless there is a split within the board or a takeover (both unlikely) nothing is going to change soon.
