Six in including Ginnelly who was bloodly brilliant at Bolton and keep JCH and offload TN - Credit both Wael and Ben - Exciting times ahead!

A good window by the looks of it. Daly could be the ideal replacement for Nicholls: On Daly, Garner commented: "He is a quick, versatile forward with great desire and a really high work ethic." We have absolutely nothing to lose by bringing him in and ending the Nicholls´saga once and for all. Ginnelly is a real threat on the left wing and once Barrett gets into shape we will have the ideal fox in and around the box. We need to chalk up that first win though sooner rather than later.

On paper this looks like an excellent transfer window.
My only concern is that the incomings weren't brought about on the thought that we were going to have more outgoings. I hope the extra fees and wages we'll be paying weren't put in place on the proviso we were freeing up wages by 1 or 2 other players leaving. I hope we haven't broken our budget allowance.

Personally, I'm dreading seeing the accounts that are due in a few weeks, the set after that could well be worse again.

On the face of it, this looks good (although as Bambi points out, we don't know the finances behind it all)

On the face of it, this looks good (although as Bambi points out, we don't know the finances behind it all) The good news is that Garner now has the tools that he wants to work with. Can't expect what's pretty much a new team to click straight away, but in a couple of weeks we'll know whether or not he has a future here.

Good to see fresh faces coming into the squad in the window. Only time will tell if they gel, are good enough and fit in with the BG formation (seems to be favouring variations on 4-3-3). So "if" BG really wants 3-4 of these new players in the starting XI moving forward - could be quite some time for them to find their feet. Given that - I think we might need to give them months rather than weeks.

It's like the start of a new season. Thinking that will be in a good position for next season if we see things working on the pitch over the remainder of this.

I hope it works out, and if it's going to we'll know by the end of Feb.

Very excited by this window! Come the end of the season we are going to be formidable. And those performances will bring in the crowds (which pays our new players).
Excited for the run-in, just need to get those wins to keep us in touching distance of the playoff pack.

One thing's for sure, results can't get much worse

Everyone said that he HAD to keep the things the same because the constraint was a set of players who could only play a certain way.
So what's happened? He has recruited 7 players who are happy to play in the style that Garner wishes.
Young, from decent clubs, coachable.
Garner has been backed and I am delighted for him.
It shows that Coughlan was hiding behind excuses when in truth he wanted a bigger pay day closer to home.
More fundamentally, this is the start of a new model. We recruit young players and sell them to make us sustainable. Like City, we become a football factory, a trading entity.
I do think that the family situation has indirectly helped us. Garner has decided to go for it and the signings reflect a re-energised sense of purpose. He alluded to that in an interview on his return.

But you have already made up your mind on BG...you've dismissed him as an out of his depth clown who should be plying his trade at Yate Town

Saw an interesting stats (if the figures are correct) about player turnover for each club in the 3rd Tier.
- Rovers have had by far the biggest incoming/outgoing ratio in our league, at +5 (8 in / 3 out). - MK Dons have the next highest ratio (they are in desperate need of improved results), with +3 (4 in / 1 out).
- Then 4 clubs at +2, and 2 clubs at +1.
Quality over quantity, they may say, but hopefully we have both.

And some previous managers imply there was no funding to take us forward? Funding isn’t yes/no. Maybe Coughlan wanted Devante Cole but was told he could have Timmy Abraham instead and subsequently replied “who?!”
