According to Cheltenham Forum, he is TN is off to Cheltenham. Put us all out of misery. Wish him well, it just didn't work and he should have had time away sooner, the outcome probably wouldn't have changed.

They tried to get him a while back, but wages were a problem, that's the rumour that came down from Whaddon Rd anyway.
No idea what goes on in his head, as said many times, he has the rest of his life to think about what could have been, what level he may have played at, had he given it everything. Sure, he's cheated us and his employer, but he's also been a fool to himself.
Maybe he can get himself sorted and come back stronger?

I think we can definitely say he lost form and confidence, and with this pressure builds, and he either cant cut it, or we as a club should have taken him out of the spotlight for a given period. Look at Ellis when he was such a villain, went out on loan and came back one hell of a player. I am not saying you are wrong, but very strong in cheating etc.
Mind you my view was he was an ok player when at his best, but a natural goal scorer he certainly isn't. Look at Cureton/Taylor, similar stature, as well as good goal scorers they both knew how to miss sitters, but they were always in a position to do so. TN never looked dangerous or likely, his time with us was a nightmare really.

Ellis was a youngster, and if you recall, had a serious personal situation going on in his life, he probably needed to hit the reset button. I've commented multiple times after games when Nichols has literally stood still and a team mate has had to run from 10 or 20 yards away, straight past him, to do his job for him. My opinion, for what it's worth, is that he's never addressed his physical issues, so just can't compete at this level. He's as weak as a kitten and has done nothing to improve his leg speed.

Inconsolable that we have lost the services of a great 5-aside player.

It’s a loan so I guess we are still paying a fair amount.

FB saying Kevin Van Veen coming our way from Scunthorpe? Currently suspended though!! Defo signed as opposed to a loan is a defender from Swansea.

Halle-bloody-lujah! £87,500 per league goal even before wages, signing fee, appearance fees etc. incredible. Good luck Cheltenham.

From The BBC
Cheltenham Town have signed Bristol Rovers striker Tom Nichols on loan until the end of the season.
The 26-year-old former Peterborough United and Exeter City forward has scored nine goals in 117 appearances over two-and-a-half seasons at Rovers
He has been at the Memorial Stadium since a £350,000 move from Posh in the summer of 2017.
"I'm under no illusions that I'm going to play every week - I've got to work hard and take my chance," Nichols said.
"We've got a great chance of getting promoted this season, we've got a few games in hand, and that'll get us right in the mix. It's good to join a club ON THE UP," he added to the club website.

Dear oh dear, Reilly first and then they come back for more with Nichols!
?
What part of our horrendous goalscoring record appears attractive to Cheltenham Town?

A player who I believe has a lot to offer, but for some unknown reason it did not work out for us? I am sure people like Widdrington and Coughlan will know but simple people like me cannot work it out although I do wish him well.

I think the error was that we were led to believe he was a direct replacement for Taylor but, even though he scored goals, he was not a true striker and so he struggled and then it was clear, at least to me, that he lacked confidence and never reached anywhere close to expectations and I do lay this at DC’s feet. He made a decision and it was just a comedy of errors after that. Having said that, he did show some flashes of having a good footballing mind & even had JCH backing him. I have no doubt that he suffered a crisis of confidence so I wish him well.

May set up substitute Tom Nichols for a chance in the 70th minute but he could not bundle the ball over the line from close range. via BBC match report @ Cheltenham!!.....

Can't deny that he scored a lot tho

Not sure he's altogether happy: Certainly sounds like he was never happy at Rovers other than a few good times.
