You are correct with your dates Bamber. Ken isn’t the Messiah, he’s a very naughty boy. Didn’t David Brain step up to Kim’s position though and Ken filled the associate role? The two full directors positions weren’t triggered until the £1m was reached. can you explain why KEN MASTERS a well respected long term supporter and hardworking volunteer in the Community Trust is "a very naughty boy" ? Is this a throwaway line or have you a grudge to bear behind a keyboard ? It was an attempt at topical humour relating to Ken being banned and Terry Jones recently passing away but I guess a joke isn't a joke if you have to explain it. As for not respecting Ken, you are correct, I don't.

There won't be any legal proceedings. It will go quiet on that front. Good game, good game as Brucie used to say. Ken will add Martyr as his middle-name and we will all carry on as before. Another one outside the tent. Twas ever thus. I'd agree that legal proceedings are unlikely. Indeed a sorry state that there is a threat of this.
But the club (Starnes) have indicated that they are quite happy to have a SC rep on the board, just not KM. Any likelihood of this post being filled?

Who could possibly follow Ken?
It would plunge a knife into Ken's martyrdom chest-wall and the SC would be muttering scab, scab, scab as you took the lift to Box 1.

As for not respecting Ken, you are correct, I don't. BRSC's solicitors (for it is claimed they exist) will be in touch shortly.

The Pirate, Official Matchday Programme - Saturday 7th December 2019 - Bristol Rovers v Southend United =======================================================================================================
P.59 The President's Club by Keith Brookman:
"Bristol Rovers, or rather the Bristol Rovers Community Trust, enjoyed a particularly successful November as they added two more awards to add to their ever growing collection ...
... There is another team behind them, supporting them every step of the way, namely the Board of Trustees, whose Chairman, Ken Masters, has been associated with the Trust for more than he cares to remember. Ken, in the early days, invested a five-figure sum of his own money into the Trust and persuaded ten local schools to come up with a sum of money to match his donation. The gesture enable the Trust to run for 12 months, giving them breathing space for them to develop strategies for bringing in additional funding to enable further projects to be undertaken..."

Maybe so, but I stand by what I said, I'm pretty darn sure it wasn't in 2004. And furthermore, why was he so determined to get onto the BoD if all he wanted to do was work in the Community Dept?

I never said anything about being 'put in place'. It's been repeatedly asked about whether he put money into the Trust - thought I'd help out by posting this article, written by an esteemed member of our fanbase.

I've no idea about either. I knew I'd read something about KM putting money into BRCT, and thought I'd look it up and dig it out for you.

Appreciate your further reply. When you've gone up to the loft, got your programmes down, thumbed through them to find an article, and spent time typing it up, you wonder why you bother when you get the opposite of a thanks!

I have been a voluntary programme contributor since the Gordon Bennett days now 42 seasons and feel undervalued but still managed 650-800wordarticles every home match.Seriously considering stopping next season.

No comps then? Haven't had a programme for ages, but am amazed that he keeps on with it. If my best mate was sacked after years of putting the thing together, in a particularly shoddy way, I would have done what friends do, and stood by my buddy. Each to their own though I guess.

You need to heed his advice my friend.
Some Greek said this "Be a free thinker and don't accept everything you hear as truth. Be critical and evaluate what you believe in".

Oh er, Harry wants to talk about how hard Men are. Steady on Harry. Would absolutely love to do philosophy with you by PM. Our starting point should be to define what truth is. But we can't do that on an open message board, it's too far off of Rovers, even for me.

Oh er, Harry wants to talk about how hard Men are. Steady on Harry. Would absolutely love to do philosophy with you by PM. Our starting point should be to define what truth is. But we can't do that on an open message board, it's too far off of Rovers, even for me. You can't handle the truth! Son, we live in a world that has walls, and those walls have to be guarded by men with guns. Who's gonna do it? You? You, Bambi I have a greater responsibility than you can possibly fathom. You weep for Masters and you curse the Owners. You have that luxury. You have the luxury of not knowing what I know, while tragic, probably saved lives. And my existence, while grotesque and incomprehensible to you, saves lives! You don't want the truth, because deep down in places you don't talk about at parties, you want me on that wall. You need me on that wall. We use words like "loyalty". We use these words as the backbone of a life spent defending something. You use them as a punchline. I have neither the time nor the inclination to explain myself to a man who rises and sleeps under the blanket of the very freedom that I provide, and then questions the manner in which I provide it! I would rather you just said "thank you", and went on your way. Otherwise, I suggest you pick up a weapon, and stand a post. Either way, I don't give a damn what you think you are entitled to!
