Paul, Paul, Paul Bannon! 1983–1986 Bristol Rovers played 29, Goals 8, twas a masterclass!.... Scored on his Rovers debut and in the 1984–85 season on the 21 May 1985 Bristol Rovers won v BC82LTD 3–1 aet Steve White, Paul Bannon & Nick Tanner to win the gloucs cup. We signed him from Carlisle for around 12,000 if my memory serves me well, they were very happy to see him go. I took a liking to him as he was tall, gangly and an awkward player, who did fall over spectacularly quite a lot, although JCH is quite good at the falling over these day's. I was saddened to learn yesterday that Paul had passed away, a young man, RIP Paul Bannon, Never forgotten. UTG

Dave Gilroy had 0/18 games (Wikipedia) Mike Davis had 1/17 games (Gasopedia) Could have sworn that "Mad" Mike Davis scored 2 against Millwall at the last ever game at the Old Den... might have only been 1 though... I just watched the footage on YouTube and it was just the one he scored. I 'remembered' that he scored a hat trick in the game- and I was there!

Our last ever league game in the second tier. The natives were getting a little restless as we had sort of spoiled the "farewell to the Old Den party". Maybe at 0-3 Mike Davis was through on goal for a 4th... I remember thinking (why do I remember these things from 27 years ago, or do imagine I remembering them)... 'don't score, don't rub it in'. So maybe that's how I attributed the additional Davis goal? Weird trying to look up details of these games and the internet not providing them. But the Youtube clip is great. Health & Safety did not do a proper risk assessment for the man dressed in a lion suit walking along the roof of the main stand.

UTG Yes, died almost 3 years ago aged 59, Rovers collected funds from the fans back then for Ron Green the goalkeeper who played 56 games for us and i think we may have done this with Paul.

I think garner has handled the nichols situation badly. No need to go for public humiliation in my view especially with the injury problems and the doubts about adebeyo and reilly. I don't think much of Garner to be truthful either

I don't think much of Garner to be truthful either Did Garner say Nicholls could leave, if so where? Was reported by Bristol Live, next quote from Garner was in answer to a question about Nicholls and he said conversations with players are confidential.
