Yes, you’ve summed it up nicely. I simply can’t rationalise it. By rights we should be getting our ass kicked, his footballing philosophy makes Big Sam look like Guardiola...and yet we keep winning and scoring goals. It defies convention. The commentator specifically mentioned our shots on goal numbers in the second half yesterday and I can only surmise our success is built on lots of shots of goal and that we must have a higher level of accuracy than average so that even Playing the most basic bitch football imaginable if we can get a shot away we stand a good chance of getting our nose in front at some point. By contrast Southend played well, could have had six in the first half but ended up getting routed by 4 goals in one half. They are like the inverse of us and raise the sobering question of, as bad as our style is would we rather play like Southend and lose or play like us and win? But we didn't really win that game, Southend lost it. They just stopped doing basic stuff at half time. You may have a point relating to what's happened in other games, but not really the second half on Saturday. Your wrong,i was at the game and we clearly won it 4-2.

The last time I looked there were three important columns in the table. Won, drawn and lost. If they do add a 'not really won , the other team lost it' I hope they still give three points for it. There are many City fans who still tell me we didn't win the title in 1990 , it was them who lost it. In a similar vein my 'other' team managed to win a trophy yesterday, despite being played off the park by their bitter rivals, I wonder if the engraver was asked to mark the cup '2019 lost by Rangers' I'm guessing that you've already worked out, I've no time for Newco, so I think it would be hilarious to scribe on the trophy; Lost by Newco. My MoTM, Morelos, superb performance, still laughing now. Looking back, it was probably one of the funniest games I have ever watched, although my nerves were torn to shreds at the time. And to think I gave away my ticket and went to Rovers v Southend instead ! What can you say about Morelos? I keep thinking to myself that he is bound to score against us eventually, but he has certainly given me hours of entertainment in the meantime!

Not sure I've ever seen a better performance by a keeper. Whoever helped that guy come up through the ranks, take a bow. Maybe we should play with 9 men next time, just to make it a bit more even, obviously 11 Vs 10 doesn't help them much.

Rex, how does the manager know that some fans aren't keen? If he reads this site or social media, then he's a fool. You're right, we do all have a right to opinions. Mine is that the football is bloody awful and disjointed. The league position is of course, wonderful. One thing about recruitment. Tommy Widdrington is behind the fluke of Clarke Harris (not his ability, the fact he never demonstrated it elsewhere) and other vital signings (Ogogo for me = player of the season). That's how football works nowadays though Grant, that's why Tommy is here.
Whether it's Graham Coughlan or A.N Other, the manager wants a striker, defender, Keeper and asks the 'chief scout' what he has. It's not the old days of managers going to watch games (I'm sure they still do to some extent), but it's all research and stats.
I believe JCH has won more free-kicks than anyone in the division. It's things like (other than goals) that the recruiters drill down into to see what they can bring to a team
I thought GC said he had worked with JCH before as well.
I get some people don't like the football, but I think there is a lot of unnecessary GC bashing

Bambers posting on matches played for the last 5 years.
Rovers lose = rovers were rubbish Rovers win = opponents were rubbish. Rovers draw = both sides were rubbish.

See I'd agree with that normally except that the GC bashing is not being done by a small group of marginal cranks it seems to be very widespread and regularly expresses itself on matchdays. Most of the time fans will swing behind a winning team regardless but not at the moment. The only home game I've been to was when we just went up to 5th but the atmosphere right from the start was as if we'd been struggling in the relegation zone all year. It's an odd situation and I think I'm too detached to fully understand it- many are clearly expecting us to come a cropper and for GC to be exposed but it never seems to happen.
Personally I completely understand it because in every game I've us play under GC we've looked rubbish for large parts of it. However, on the other hand it's hard to knock the fact that there seems to be an iron competitive streak running through this team that is capable of pulling results out of the bag. We find ways to win but I don't really know how. It can't all be down to opposition incompetence - you don't get up to 5th after 20 games that way.

Look at it another way. How would you rank Sol Campbell's performance as a manager on Saturday? 2-0 up away from home, cruising, could've been 4 easily. Halftime talk from him and they lost 4-2

Do you know how this started please as I’m interested in it ? i used to see Steve ( Shirley) in the Polish club, long before I knew him at Rovers & there were a fair few second gen Polish who went to the games too. I have seen flags , of both, at the mem. I just don’t know how you guys got into it Thanks in advance

Read most of the other football forums & you will see it really is not unusual. The forum would be so dull if we didn’t have differing opinions. I don’t trawl over other people’s posts but I’d be surprised if what you say is entirely true

In my case , we were the only branch of the family in Bristol , my dad had no real interest in football, but when one of us his brothers who lived in Montreal visited us (the only time I met him) and he found out I loved football, he told me that Celtic were 'our' team, I would have been around 7 years old at the time and Celtic had just lost in the European Cup final so I think it just stuck in my head. See how easy it is to indoctrinate kids!

Always knew new was older than me, despite claiming be a few months younger. He looks older too. 👍

Bamber's posting on matches played for the last 5 years; Rovers lose = Rovers were rubbish Rovers win = opponents were rubbish. Rovers draw = both sides were rubbish. Not fair. I thought we did well to rescue a last minute draw against Bradford Park Avenue.

Nope. 1968 final, if you were 7, makes you born in 1961. They made the final in 1970, so 1963 (Still older, just.) 2 lots of semi finals after wasn't it? Anyway, since when was this a Celtic site? 🙂
