Max and Mets are joined by James Piercy from the Bristol Post to review an eventful couple of weeks for the Gas. They give their reaction to Chairman Steve Hamer departing and the club issuing a very short statement on the website. They discuss what this means for the structure at the club and any effect on the parties that are interested in buying Rovers. They look back at two away wins in a week, Bromley in the FA Cup 1st round replay and the roller coaster game against Shrewsbury in the league. Are we now seeing the best out of Liam Sercombe and is Ollie Clarke Gerrard in disguise? The other development this week was head of recruitment Tommy Widdrington coming out and saying he would like closer ties with the red half of the city. Warning that the lads language gets a bit spicy here. They look ahead to the game at the Mem on Sunday against Argyle and who would be a dream 3rd round tie if the Gas manage to get there. The player in focus this week is Tony Craig. Just how long can he keep going on and how crucial is he in the back 3 partnership? listen.gascastpodcast.co.uk/276671/2187011-14-word-statement

JP very clear that the FM negotiations are ongoing ('if they had broken down you'd be reading about it'). Also very engaging to listen to - so different from much of the airy-fairy talk
getting Hamer out of the room removes the potential source of leaks (to the new owners), rather than signifies that the deal has hit the Temple Meads buffers?
very clear about how bad had things had got between Team Hamer (which had our fans director in it, and Hani) and Team Wael (Starnes & Gorringe). Been horrid for ages, by the sound of it
interesting that Wael didn't have the clout to get Hamer out of the room much earlier - it was just a slow nudge nudge nudge out of the building

very good discussion of GC's performance too - results v. entertainment v. reasonable expectations etc
44% win % since becoming caretaker, 13% lose %. Blimey! George Graham would have been happy with that

very articulate discussion of the BCFC loan partnership proposal from Widdrington too. Very very well expressed IMO
