So many high balls!
Ol' Stuart Taylor must be looking down on this and getting the occasional header in.

Groundsman had to sew the pitch back together after it caught fire due to a flare - that is a new one on me. We are clinging on a bit here.

Very lucky indeed, Bromley were by far the better team. Clarke and Ogogo doesn’t work, Leahy still looks pathetic and we started the game with ten men and a boy again.

other than the disallowed goal, did they really put that much pressure on the keeper, only one save to make in the second half, Rovers were not good, but hey ho ... job done , the bonus of TV money and i would imagine a sell out against Argyle .. possible friday night TV on the beeb?
and subject to the crowd at Swindle, [not on the beeb summary] the biggest crowd of the evening, despite being live on TV ... 4500 ish

The best entertainment on offer was the quote from GC repeated by the commentator when TN was being discussed - GC essentially said that Rovers fans should get off TN's back as he was putting in a huge amount of work every time he plays. I'm dreadfully sorry, but he isn't - and that's a large part of the problem. If we saw him busting a gut, leaving it all on the pitch etc. people would be less critical of his non-scoring performances but that isn't the case pretty much every time I've seen him play including today. You can sympathise with poor form to some extent but giving less than total effort is unforgivable. GC needs to throw away these rose-tinted specs he clearly employs and see the real picture.

Iam in agreement good solid performance, defensively sound , got the early goal, sat back and seen it out relatively comfortablely.
Good team spirit, which bodes well for a decent cup run (Finally!) See off Plymouth then City away - So already the 4th round beckons!

What on earth is going on? OK, winning with a total mess of a goal, but they've just had a perfectly good one disallowed, are a non-League team but have had 60% possession and have had 7 attempts on goal to our 3. We had a good look at this shower 9 days ago, they are shocking, just big lumps who play straight out of a text book. We should be beating them comfortably. Let's see what the manager does at half time, but if we do more of the same this won't end well. Again, awful to watch and shows we are certainly riding our luck in the league. Glad no significant injuries. JCH has been our only outlet, without him we are shot

If our manager genuinely believes that Nichols is going out and leaving everything on the pitch then he's not fit to manage a professional football club. Everybody can see Nichols strolling around, pulling out of tackles, not closing opponents down. The riddle with the bloke is, why does he keep getting time on the pitch?

We weren’t at our best at all but we got the early goal to put them on the back foot and defended well to see the game through.
I’d much rather us playing poor and picking up results than playing well and not getting anything. Relieved to be through to the next round.

Did enough- well done Rovers. Having had a proper moan about the Nichols comments attributed to the manager, it's worth saying, this is the sort of game the Clarke specialised in losing. We didn't. That's progress of a sort.

To me it was a typical coughlan performance. Mostly poor on the ball, lots of aimless hoof ball,no movement going forward with a big man up top who can score and cause problems. Well organised defensively both in midfield and especially in the centre of the defence. It was a difficult game and we won it even though our football as usual was dull at best.

Very happy with the win. Put them right in their place.
Everything against Rovers going into the game, a bit of arrogance from Bromley, shut the eff up and get back to your league.
Well done gas, brilliant dogged defence

I was at Kettering, Hitchin , the Chesham game, the Barrow one- I'm actually struggling to remember all the others- and I was there last night. I enjoyed last nights game far more than any of the others I just mentioned. Should we get past Plymouth and get a glamour tie in the 3rd round, no one will be moaning about last nights performance.

With no Upson, we sat back a bit too deep and invited them on. You make your own luck in football and our defence did just that with a proper "they will not pass" performance. GC keeps saying his brand of football ain't pretty, but, as defending goes, it's pretty awesome imo. He's made us very difficult to beat in his own rumbustuous image and that's entertaining in its own right; football ain't only about weaving pretty patterns. The question now is, having sorted the defence, will he sort the creative midfield area and our attacking options in the window?

Incriminating pictures of Coughlan and an inebriated donkey?
