That queue is probably full of over 55s fumbling for their chequebooks

Does it really matter? I think TG has done an amazing job so far and things on the commercial side are highly professional now. An improvement on the Barry Bradshaw days!! Give over. I won't list all of his mistakes again as I've done it too often already. All I think needs saying is Mintbet, that tells you all you need to know. Rather than play ping-pong with this, don't bother replying that things are better now, my issue is that they should be as good as possible, clearly they aren't. Here's a pic taken last Saturday at exactly 3pm. This is his wonderful ticketing system in action. It's a mess and means that supporters miss the start of games week after week.
Come on Bamber, you make some valid points, but that queue would take less than 5 minutes to get through at most. I will be at Celtic v Lazio next week, Celtic have one of those , what seem to be 'must have' proper automated systems in place and I can pretty much guarantee that the queue will be at least 3 times the size of that at kick off and for the most part , it will people who have thought 'I'll just have one more pint'.

Are we still talking about the turnstiles and queues.
I was there at 1.25 on Saturday. There was a queue waiting for the East turnstiles to open and it disappeared in no time as people filtered to all the turnstiles as there are not split. No fumbling with cash. Card was in hand. tap, beep, push barrier. in the bar.
NO PROBLEM WHAT SO EVER.

The people who pay cash, get through more quickly and it’s been my experience that it’s ST holders that end up queuing. We go to the ticket office, get tickets and walk right in. Never been a problem and so it’s not us apparent alkies, who miss the game. Just my thruppence

Absolutely.
Season card - tap - easier
Print at home - tap - easier
Turn up on the day with no ticket - slightly more difficult that handing over cash on the turnstile.
We all know why cashless turnstiles were put in and even at 5th or 6th tier this is now the norm. I can't really believe that this minor inconvenience is what keeps anyone away from supporting their football club.
Still. Moaners will moan.

One of the reasons of introduction of ticketing system was to stamp out fraud.
And from what I gather, that now appears to have been dispelled.
Rarely mentioned by someone above because as long as there's a queue at 3pm I guess it's easy to moan...

Perhaps the queue were those collecting bargain tickets at £10 the Tom G promotion to boost crowds ?

There's never a queue and I get there about 2.30 usually. Can't see what the problem is other than people not being able to pay their mates less than the entrance fee to get through a turnstile.

For season ticket holders, it's fine, surely? For us matchday ticket holders, it's slower. It means that all matches are all ticket. But you can buy them on the day. So it works. You queue twice instead of once. But it works. And the boy gets a nice ticket for his book. The system seems alright, except when it's not. It's all gone wrong only on system failures. Isn't it, what?

You’ve changed, I remember the good old days when your rarely get there before 3:42.

People who pay cash don’t have a queue, ST holders do. There are two separate entry points. I regularly see queues for those with the cards.

Isn't it, what? The irony being that they still have people, by the turnstiles, to help those who still have problems with swiping. The friend I go with is a ST holder and I always get in, before him.

There haven’t been any cash turnstiles since the start of last season. People with cash queue up at the ticket office to get a ticket. Then proceed quickly through a turnstile with said ticket. It really is a simple system that most sporting grounds in the country have been operating for years. About 5 years ago I had to spend 45 minutes at that other place queuing for a ticket prior to a rugby match there. Since then I have bought on line in advance. What makes our fans so sodding unique that simple modern practices are such a hardship?

When we are mixing with other championship clubs in the very near future we will have to put up with International breaks, sunday matches, all ticket matches, lunchtime kick offs and sky tv matches plus of course an all seater stadium (no standing by your mates)

The intention might have been to reduce fraud but the turnstile I use is always unmanned. I could easily gain entry with a concession ticket.
