If I've done my sums right, should all the results go our way we could be in a playoff position later tonight. So here's to the power of positive thinking starting with a solid performance and a 3-0 win for the Gas! COYB!

My main concern is increasing the gap to the bottom three, keep doing that and I’ll start looking up. I always think of Gills as a bogey team though I have no stats to back that up and will be happy with a draw.

Definitely a bogey team at Priestfield over the last dozen years - until we beat them in March of last season. All Time | Rovers Wins | Draws | Gills Wins | League | 41 | 14 | 39 | FA Cup | 4 | 4 | 1 | League Cup | 1 | 2 | 1 |
Recent (since 2007/8, all League) | Rovers Wins | Draws | Gills Wins | Memorial Stadium | 2 | 3 | 2 | Priestfield | 1 | 0 | 6 |

Tough match tonight.
I'm gonna call it a bogey manager....we just can't seem to get one over on Steve Evans in recent years. I don't like him or his style tbh, so doubly important to get a win tonight.
I actually think we will.
Strong at home and after a great result Saturday, confidence should be riding high. Welcome back to Bons and Jaks.
I'll say 1-0 Gas. Ollie Clarke. 6800.
Not quite play offs, but certainly in or around it on Saturday eve 5pm.
COME ON YOU BLUES! UptheGas..

Recall helping Rotherham clear their pitch of snow and winning there when Evans was their manager. That was very sweet.

Need to keep momentum going into Saturday away to Wimbledon. With Upson back I see a better home performance.
2-1 to us

I feel people have been blinded by that win at Lincoln, in the after math of which there were some pertinent comments about how, despite our current form, we are better as an away side given GC’s defensive nature. Taking all that into account (and given that we failed to press an advantage against 10 man Accrington) I’m predicting Gillingham not to lose.

Fair opinion based on your comments, however, if Upson plays v Stanley I feel we would have won 3-1, as the defensive midfield was our achilles heel on that day. Hence our decent home form continues tonight hopefully.

I don't know why fans expect a team to steamroller 10 men. Nobody ever does because there's a strategy for dealing with going down to ten men. Some even pull off an unexpected win. GC isn't defensive in the least, and even when they defend they entertain, unlike the constipation control football dished up by Clarke last season. I'd like to see him play Smith instead of Nichols tonight. He's more of a natural striker than Nichols with a nice turn of speed and control in the box. I think he could go for Sercombe at home to add a bit of creativity, but who would he drop? Not Upson that's for sure and OC and Agogo are much to influential in defensive midfield.

I think the mindset of fans when it comes to 10 men is many years behind that of the actual teams and players
Sending offs have become more common place over the years and teams know in general what they will do depending on the situation e.g two banks of 4. keep it narrow, work hard,1 bloke up top (a bit of a simplistic description but you know what I mean) and don't give it away. Make the opposition work

Early shout for sparsest league attendance of season.
Nice peppery hot pasty though, and little queues.
Come on you blues!

Paid the price for not scoring when on top 2nd half. Was pretty football tho
Gills not really worth the draw, though have to admit we were hanging on at the end
Commentators said we looked tired at 70 mins
Little and Sercs disappointing. We were just kicking it long at the end. Looked out of ideas. Agogo good until last quarter when he faded
Hope Hare is OK. Excellent Smith goal
Strange game. 1st half both teams poor
