Big deal. I'm happy to bet that Walsall finish in the play offs this season.Relentless digs at Darrell Clarke on here. It's almost like people want to forget how much he did for us and understood us. I'll take that bet! I don't think the OP was really having a dig though, just pointing out Walsall aren't doing too well. I think there are very, very few Rovers fans who don't view Darrell's time here as a success .

Now further down the line and Wal Sail slithering down the league two pole - now only three points clear of relegation with Swindon away next Saturday. Never forget what DC done for us and what he might have gone on to achieve if El Presidente had backed him. I for one bloodly relieved we got GC as its looking very dark for Wal Saul as Conference beckons!

He may not have found the right club this time round, also his confidence may have taken a knock after leaving Rovers. He might have to drop a level again, maybe with Hartlepool, to spring board his career. I hope it works out with Walsall. L2 can be punishing as we know.

You don't half have a boring habit of celebrating his bad times at a football club that we have no beef with. I really hope he keeps his job, gets Walsall going again, gets promoted, along with Northampton and makes all the sad acts who delight in slagging off absolute Rovers legends say sorry. It probably won't happen of course, but jeez...it's dismal to forget what Darrell did for us.

Am I missing something here ? If DC was still with us now we would be where Wal Saul currently sit in League Two DC once he saw through El Presidente ‘lack of ambition/ broken promises ‘ DC lost interest and rightly hung out for a well deserved payoff. Unfortunately, Walsall is not the right club for him to bounce back I don’t think his heart will be in I believe he got bored waiting for the right club to come along - no disrespect to Walsall but they are a small club who will never be able to compete with the other clubs on their doorstep such as Wolves,Villa, Birmingham West Brom ...... DC is a very talented Coach and if he was to team up with a Lennie Lawrence type he would then be able to leapfrog up the football pyramid to Championship at the very least. It’s all about opinions and this is mine like it or not!

Can I just say that I care as much about Walsall as I do about the Gross Domestic Product of Chad. I.e. not very much.

Some great quotes from DC
"Everybody at the football club's got to be a lot better. If they can't handle that, they'll be on their way."
The 41-year-old continued: "I'm not going to cuddle them. They know that. I'm not a cuddling manager.
"If they want me to put an arm round them and say everything's going to be OK, I think we need to get another manager in."
'Soft players don't win you promotions'
The Saddlers were relegated from League One in May, ending a 12-year stay in English football's third tier, just three years after finishing third under Jon Whitney before losing to Barnsley in the play-offs.
"The players go on Twitter. They read newspaper articles. The criticism is already out there," he said.
"If they can't handle criticism from a manager when things aren't going well, if they're going to struggle in the modern world on confidence, if they can't handle the criticism, then they shouldn't be footballers.
"They should go and stack shelves at Asda. Soft players don't win you promotions."

Beginning to repeat himself. That's exactly what he said after last week's match.

I do not understand why several posters here and on gaschat delight in his failures?
We have had 6 promotions in a 100 years,2 of them with dc. I find it pathetic frankly.

Now your resorting to making things up. No worst than ' i am happy to bet that Wal Saul will make the Play-offs' Nothing to do with Vertigo, that was me. I spelled Walsall correctly too, so at least get the quote right. As for the prediction, it sadly looks wide of the mark. Now, go and play with yourself elsewhere please. You're a bore.

Respect to you and Vertigo it was a good old battle of words, shall we agree to 'drop hands' and move on?

I do not understand why several posters here and on gaschat delight in his failures? We have had 6 promotions in a 100 years,2 of them with dc. I find it pathetic frankly. Likewise. From his first full season where he had to take down over 100 stickers/posters he was vilified until we got promoted and, even then, a good few were saying we were lucky. We then get promoted again and at a game that probably ranks as the best feeling I’ve ever had as a Rovers fan but that was lucky too. I don’t understand the preoccupation with him. He told us his plan was to return us to the third tier and he delivered, he drank with fans and provided some great media in his print that baxxxrd. personally, I will be eternally grateful of his tenure. He got players from NL and got them integrated into a team that, at long last, had pride in the shirt. He then turned down the opportunity of a much higher profile job on the broken promises of new stadium & training facilities. I think any of us would have felt frustrated but he showed loyalty that is now so very rare in this game. I think some need to have a good look at themselves before casting aspersions at others. I shall remember DC’s tenure fondly and shall applaud him should he ever come to the mem as the opposing manager
