Nilgoals misses another 1 on 1. FFS. Get rid. Useless fecking hairdresser. Great pass to set Tom N for a clean run on goal, the defenders were catching him up rapidly, should have gone around the keeper, took his time and finally pushed a tame shot directly at the diving keeper, no power or placement at all, sorry, he is not a striker.

A win is a win so I'll take it, against 9 men or not.

Jeffrey.T'was three points but lack of quality very evident.Long winter ahead.Kilgour and Bunny Hare good and Upson did well. Our club's lack of ambition catching up with us sadly both on and off the pitch. So little creativity in midfield and this MUST be ameliorated before the window ends.Give Nichols away to free up some funds as Deon Moore won't score any less than him!!

We could have been 3 up before the sendings off. Then we nearly threw it away. Some comedy moments with their number 6 who had the physique and football skill of a Harlem Globetotter.
Upson, Ollie, Kilgour, Abu, Johnson, Tone all great. Leahy again out of his depth, sorry.
Man of the match for me was Ed Upson.

We got bigger attendances in the conference. Where's it all going to end.

Paul Warne and Richie Barker of Rotherham were sat behind us in the front row of the West. They were plainly watching Clarke-Harris with interest, from what they were saying. Warne was manager when Johnson was at Rotherham I think, so probably nothing to it.

What was wrong with Leahy exactly. He was in the opposition box more than our own last night. Though he wws perfectly acceptabl in the wing back role last night and always offered an outlet.
Thought in general were pretty good last night. We are/were direct, but not straight down the middle direct. Long diagonals as well as trying to unleash Smith turning the centre halves. Midfield 3 generally hounded
Smith a worthy MOTM. Beaen up all night, kept going and looked a handful.. If anything our substitutions whilst understandable or needed probably disrupted more than anything

Just got back!
Well what a difference width makes!? Even Boris commented on it at half time.
3-5-2 might be a decent set up last night, but we need bone fide wingers for when that gets nullified by better teams. Leahy played his best match, but more forward. Probably the same for Josh Hare too.
3 centre backs had a pedestrian night, you could argue after down to 9 (when they looked busier than us) they became overworked!?
Again, I thought Ollie was poor. Or at best, certainly not on top form. The best I can say is he tried to keep the ball moving in mid which was difficult in a playing foul football environment, and he done well contributing to keeping the team disciplined and not reacting to having lumps kicked out of them every few minutes.
And, Agogo and Upson (yes, Upson?!) had tidier games breaking things up. I preferred Upson. What vastly improved in mid, and in other parts too, is the winning of the second ball. Very important and previously lacking.
JCH was back to his menacing self and used his physicality well....even out running their two defenders at one point! Took his goal well, had numerous fouls placed upon him (probably played for a few of them) and exactly what we needed v Tranmere.
Smith m o m for his performance against a robust defence. I like how he has great balance at pace, but he definitely needs a strike partner.
Tranmere so many niggly fouls and plain dirty ones. They weren't a Wycombe esque sneaky team, rather more brash, over physical and undisciplined. Shame we didn't have James Clarke, he would've relished it! Thing is.... that's ok if you set up tactics like that, but in first few minutes when you see a fussy ref, don't you think it best to be a bit wiser and pick and choose when you foul? Even (s*head) Mellon said there were alot of stop starts last night......duh, yea, most of it caused by your fuc£wit team fouling!(?)
Well done ref for getting most things right.
We beat a team at home! Yay! I thought GC set us up adequately. We play with artificial width going forward which worked. Well done. We played the better football, more up tempo and spreading ball wide with support.
My worry is where do we go from here? What happens when teams suss us out? Do we have a plan b?
Well done, GC. 1/4 correct.
.... and Nichols again gets put clean through at the end.
You know what happened.

If anything our substitutions whilst understandable or needed probably disrupted more than anything Leahy was so good he lost his number!!! It's interesting to get different views on different players in the same game. I expect more from Clarke clearly. The 9 men parked the bus and they were more open first half which is why we caused them problems especially down our left with the diagonal ball. But we also caused damage down the right, for a player to come in from non league and be so proactive and very accurate with crossing, that's why i gave MOM to Hare. From set pieces we have two decent deliverers for in swinging or out swinging. They have clearly worked on it in training. Tranmere defended them well first half as they're allowed to. We had to earn the 2nd goal, you don't just get 4 more goals by the opposition going down to 9 men. They defended across the middle so our spare men were in the back 3 and midfield.. Ogogo Upson and Clarke had so much time on the ball but Clarke lost it by trying difficult passes instead of keeping possession to knacker them out and eventually find a way through. Bennett didn't make any difference when he came on. Nichols looked suicidal when he missed. Very good performance. Do not sack the manager.

It's great how we all see things differently though.

My point is Smith needs someone to play off of and we shouldn't be thinking of Tyler up front alone or in a 3 that turns into a 1 because the other two are so deep.

''We play with artificial width going forward''
Top 3 nonsense of all time.
Up there with 'transition' and 'footie'
