Some of you may remember last year Bristol band the Idles featured the Gas in a music video with lead singer Joe Talbot in the crowd - They played on day one at Glastonbury and you can catch it on BBC IPlayer. Absolutely awesome they are going to be massive one day. Second song the crowd create a death mosh pit definitely not for the pc lightweights on the other forum!

from the Grauniad.....'Meanwhile, on The Park stage, Bristolian punks Idles are so overjoyed to be here that several members end their set in tears, following a series of impassioned speeches about the importance of Glastonbury in their lives. It is hard not to be swept along. Their sound is determinedly grimy and atonal, the lyrics bleak – “Michael has got cancer in his nuts and in his brain” – but it is also incredibly potent. The reason they have gone from being, as singer Joe Turner puts it, “told we’re too fat, too old, too ugly and too stupid” to a band with a passionate following.'

There is also a (German) group out there called The Gas . Some clips of them on You Tube ( if anyone can link it to here) Quite heavy rock stuff so maybe not to everyone’s taste. But they do have an excellent young female drummer called Sina who has her own You Tube channel with some excellent drum covers. Really knows her stuff. One for the bar for a bit of after match entertainment....but would need to strengthen the roof a bit with those decibels blasting out.....

He's not quite (allegedly) the working class hero his music might suggest. Doesn't bother me. Seems to bother the Sleaford Mods though.

Thanks for that. Sina really does a mean job on the drums with them and on her own covers. Very talented.

I thought The Clash were great and the fact that Joe Strummer was a bit of a posh boy never made me think the music wasn't 'authentic' (whatever the f**k that is supposed to mean Mind you, know that we know that The Idles drummer is a dirty stinkin red, I shall be crossing them off my Desert Islands Discs list !

Go on, admit it, Margaret in a burkini affects just a hint of tumescence in your tiny avian generative member.

The drummer is a ‘Ted I have just watched the set played on day1 on bbc iPlayer for the fourth time. It actually brought a 'teardrop' to my eye, which in my lifetime you can count on one hand! There is still a long 4 weeks to go before it all starts again with 3 points at Blackpool. So what Iam saying is please don't be put off watching fantastic set because of a ted playing drum ( just ignore the 'milky bar kid ) and focus on the four mad f##kers in front. Toteend5 commented 'I watched their set, was brilliant. I've been trying to get to see them in London for a couple of years, but sell out lightning' Toteend1 commented 'Just watched Idles band and crowd f**king mad and brilliant' I therefore once again commend this set to the house and hope some of you will give it a go. Thank You UTG

Music transcends football (The Wurzles being the exception) so I dont care who Idles support, that performance at Glastonbury was incredible and they are fast becoming my favourite band.

Add Nigel Kennedy to that list. Sure, he can play that fiddle thing, but he had rather too much to say on the subject the last time Villa beat Rovers. BTW, last I heard The Wurzles were charging £5000 for a gig. Honestly, I would tidy myself up a bit and blow into an old cider jug for a couple of hours for half that amount.

Can i assume the forum is quiet today As there were no points for gas away There was a need to blow off some steam And by all accounts not at the team With our heads our held high We reached for the sky So there was no need to fight As another blistering set put things right Thank you Idles for lifting our low We are all completely moshed out now after your show!
