Bristol Rovers manager Graham Coughlan issues update on pursuit of Watford striker Alex Jakubiak
Asked by Bristol Live for exact details about what “procedures” had taken place and when his key players would return to play, Coughlan said: “I am not a medical person. I stick my nose in the physio room every now and again, as a player I never liked going in there.
“Jono [Jonson Clarke-Harris] is all done and dusted, we are hoping to have Jono back one of the days next week.
“We injected him and it didn’t quite work, we rested him and it didn’t quite work, so the last option was to have an op. I believe they call it keyhole surgery.

P.S.TN did well yesterday but needs to add physical strength somehow.
Final thought from Sat.Hope we don't overdo it with Craig in these friendlies.He was excellent Sat and without Locks his ageing legs will be vital.

With JCH not available Nichols has suddenly decided to get in the box. Can somebody please tell him when JCH returns from injury more than one striker are allowed in the box at the same time.

I've heard Nichols change of fortune has come about, by Tom overcoming a 3 year long phobia wirh fishing - Yes apparently he hated it as he was scared of nets!

Like wise if he doesn't I expect you to give a £100 to the ex teachers now living in Weston and driving a white car benevolent fund |

Saturday summed him up for me, in the second half I think it was cross from Sercs that pinged out across the penalty spot not a defender in sight and pure manna for any switched on attacker running in, where was Wael’s ‘hat trick hero’’?, 30 yards behind play keeping himself out of the firing line.

What people fail to appreciate is that Nichols is actually a very decent footballer, got most assists last year and JCH always looked better playing alongside him. He does need to get more goals to justify playing as a striker but I think this is partly because he doesn’t get much service which forces him to come deeper to get the ball and this makes it less likely that he’s going to score.
In my opinion Sercombe should be the scapegoat, not Nichols. Massively underperforming, I forgot he was on the pitch on Saturday.

You can blame the service of course, but he isn't making anything happen. You mention JCH looked better, it might just be the other way around. There were a couple of games last Jan/feb time and I really liked the look of his movement determination etc and whilst he didn't notch he did look a decent player. I'm not being challenging here, but give Deon Moore a dozen appearances starting or from the bench and he will be more effective than Tom with current attitude.
He looks like a guy that has lost the love of playing, sure he is so much on the backfoot he is probably hiding slightly. Remember Boris, not hugely talented, but if it wasn't going for him he made things happen. TN just isn't do anything, he needs a spell out of the team, whether on loan or in the stiffs.

Tom is obviously an attacking central midfielder. He is useless back to goal but incredible at well weighted passes and technical play. He might get some goals facing the right way. |

If Nichols is a decent player etc fine, but don't play him as a striker.
Simples!
I know some women with nice touches and are hard work (!) ... but I wouldn't play them as a f in striker that doesn't strike.
